Thanks for watching everyone. If you're interested in bowhunting as well check out my most recent video!! Cheers. ua-cam.com/video/hZdjNHbfJBM/v-deo.html
Just watched your video. Thank you for some tips. Much appreciated
Yo! Thanks for this.
I really wanna get deep into compound bows.
Never done it before, and this was extremely helpful.
I appreciate you.
Subscribed and following.
Thanks for your expertise! I’m shopping as soon as possible
Nice video! Basic knowledges for just as much as important for the beginners. FYI, I am a Chinese girl whom just begin to fond of bows... looking forward to learn more from you.
I wonder if she is still with that Nick guy.. I haven't seen a video of hers in probably 3 years now.. Glad you're still humming along Allie..
I've hunted all my life.. and no one has ever sat me down and laid it all out like this.. I've just had to learn... Thanks for putting in this effort.. this is priceless for lots of us!
Glad it helped!
Great audio right to the point. No goofy music. Your points come across real easy to understand. Really appreciate your video thank you
Thanks for the feedback Chris!
I just saw this and I’m so so grateful I came across it! Thank you so much for taking the time to not only explain everything but also have links available in your videos description. This has helped me feel way less overwhelmed about where to start. I hope to begin practicing and hunting with my bow soon :)
So happy to help! Enjoy the journey!
Good advice! I started my archery hunting in the late 60's while a teenager using a recurve. Huge difference when I finally succumbed to the compound bow craze.
Huge difference!
Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older. But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.
Thanks for watching!
Looking to get my first bow, this video was so incredibly helpful! Thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful!
Her smile is brighter than my future!
Though u were kidding till I noticed u were right
Simp lvl over 900000000 🔥
That's not really a good thing.
Follow Jesus and nothing will outshine your future.
U alive?
Thanks for watching my beautiful people!! I'm curious -- are you a newbie archer, seasoned pro, or somewhere in the middle?
Outdoors Allie somewhere in the middle. But it's been 14 years since I bought my last compound and thinking about upgrading. Kind of attached to my old one though....
I'm a seasoned newbie! 😂
Allie you should mention the "Ready to hunt, RTH" options when purchasing a bow. After you've purchased a RTH bow, you can always upgrade equipment at a later date. It's a great option especially when first starting out.
After shooting deer with a lever action 30/30 and 12 ga slugs in my 870 Remington I moved to Ohio and went to bow only getting my 1st deer with a 55 lb Bear Montana longbow. I had a custom bow made and killed 7 more deer over a decade.
Now on my 70th trip around the sun I shoot a Mathews and enjoy the accuracy.
Going on my 4th year. Going to do my 1st out of state hunt this year.
Been shooting for 6 years now, and love it. I shoot every day, at least 5 arrows unless I'm traveling. I made a practice rig from my old bow string that I take with me.
Good deal.
This is awesome been bowhunting and shooting for 30 years now this is probably the best beginner video I've seen. All about what is comfortable to you not about what's the most expensive you don't need a bow that shoots 500 fps to kill a deer.
Thank you! I've been considering buying a bow for over a year now. I appreciate you putting this together
Glad it was helpful!
I'll be buying my first bow within a month. This is great info! Thank you
Glad it was helpful! I hope you have so much fun!
Wow, simple and straight forward. A great recipe for a great video. As an avid fisherman who is taking up archery with the goal of bowhunting, this was FANTASTIC! Besides all the great advice like draw length, the part about the non-negotiable purchases that come along with the bow was wonderful.
So happy to hear that it was helpful!!
Very informative! A definitely must watch for any new archers out there. I’ve been doing it for at least 10 years now and I’m still learning new things!
Thanks Casey. Glad you liked it!
Thank you for the real specifics including costs, equipment, etc.. your delivery and comments were much appreciated. I have not used a bow for more years than I’m going to state (uhm high school). I have a glock and a 22 rifle. My (grown) son who is active with firearms introduced me to these. He has recently purchased a torrex set up, which has stirred up my long slumbering archery desire. I’m on land so a practice spot would be easy. I’m signed up for a 3 day GA DNR BOW weekend in November with one of the courses being a general archery for hunting segment. In December at the same location a compound bow education. I’m a researcher and all in kind of dog with a bone gal when I have a passion. I appreciate your experience and informative video.
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching Deborah!
The first fully informative video I have seen. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video for new starters , some good advice . I've been shooting for about 5 years both recurve and lever limb bows . UA-cam has loads of resources for new and intermediate archers. Thanks
Yes, UA-cam is a great resource. Thanks for watching Gary!
This video was amazing! You totally read my mind about Craigslist... I'm ALL about that craigslist for most stuff but def not the best place for getting your first bow! My biggest learning moment so far has been my sight. I learned very quickly that the "bang on some plastic until you are sighted in" was not for me. I upgraded right away to a micro adjustable sight because in the long run I'll have more time to shoot my bow! Thanks for the awesome video!
I shot compound about 3 years ago now and then my local archery shop shut down, so I didn’t really use my bow and sold it, so now I’m looking at getting into it again and this is a great video for a reminder of what I need
Im happy to hear that you're getting back into it!
Thanks for such an informative video. Im originally from a big city and never really thought about doing something like this until i moved to this small town. This was a good start to a curiosity of trying archery out
Glad it was helpful!
A lot of good information there thank you Miss Allie🐝
Thanks for watching!
Excellent advice. When I was a kid, my dad just bought me a bow. And that was that. I never knew WHY he chose it, or what the accessories were for, or what modifications I could make. That was it. Period.
Such a good video!. Thanks for talking loud and slow about the basic things we (newbs) should know. Awesome work.
Glad it helped!
Thank You for have it nice and clear, I like the way you present , got me smile all the way to the end.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I did archery lesson just last week, I really got hooked, I’m looking to buy now a compound bow. Thanks for these tips! Really helpful!
Great to hear! Have fun Daniel!
Once again you put out a good video. I am looking forward to part two of the home archery workshop. I hope it comes out soon.
Dale
Thanks Dale.
I am diving into learning archery/bowhunting this year and this video was super helpful, thank you!
Glad it was helpful Colin!
Finally someone who explains the basic stuff in a clear way!
Appreciate what you do, need more young ladies in the outdoors period! Keep up the good work!
Thanks David!
Outdoors Allie And thank you for actually taking the time to read and Comment back..
@@pinwheelin1043 No problem. I appreciate you watching my videos!
Outdoors Allie Do you ever have a chance or plan to come and hunt around Arkansas?

Thanks for the advise! I've been shooting my Samick sage for about 2 years and been thinking about getting a compound bow.

Great video. It will really help with purchasing my first one. Thank you for your insight
Glad it was helpful!
1st time viewer thanks for the great info and chuckles!
Thank for watching!
Thank you, I'm interested in purchasing my first bow for target shooting. Archery ranges are close by this will provide me with another outdoor activity.
Thanks for the tips! This is a good video. I am a long time subscriber but I have not watched a video from you for quite a while.
I do not have a compound bow but I am interested. I only have some homemade recurve bows. But at the moment I am shooting my Slingshots.
Glad you liked it. Slingshot is fun too!
Great info! I’m looking to purchase my first compound bow. Very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Great tips, great info, great delivery! Enjoyed it, well done!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I've been told to watch for last year's model bows to go on sale as well when trying to find a deal
Good tip!

Thank you for well informed video. I just made the decision not to buy my first compound bow but my first bolt action rifle.
Awesome!!! You will love it!
Thank you for posting. Very helpful.👍
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. Learned everything I need to buy my first bow.
Glad it was helpful!
You basically covered everything I did wrong when I went out and purchased a 70lb compound bow. I ended up dry firing it and cracking two limbs, and painting inside my arm purple :D
Yikes! I hope you were able to find a new bow!
Thanks for a well thought out video, thinking about a bow for a few years just haven't squeezed the release yet
Dooooo it!
Great video! Very helpful as I start thinking about buying my first bow!
Glad it was helpful Benjamin!
Hi there many thanks for tips, guess iam a new bee to Compound archery but been shooting traditional English long bows at 100lb draw weight for around ten years, now I'm older I'm on a slightly easier compound, totally different in every way but loving it!
Happy to hear that Ross!
I've been following you on Instagram for over a year now and had no idea you did youtube videos! This video is a great introduction, thank you.
Awesome! Thank you Jake!
Keep up the good work. Thanks for the detailed vid.
Thanks for watching!
Well done! Thank you, for the tips.
Thanks for watching Edmundo!
Best advise ever, buy from a shop. Our gold mine of a Bow shop here in northern California is West Coast Archery. Hans and Adrienne the owner bow hunt and shoot compition. Their customer service and knowledge is by far the best I've ever seen in my 40 years of bow hunting.
Thats awesome! Thanks for watching!
Great video. My daughter is interested in learning and starting archery. I know nothing about it so this helped a lot. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks, the info was very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. I’m just getting into long bows and compound. I’ve been a shot gunner for over 35 years.
Thanks for watching John!
Newbie but watching and learning as much as I can to ensure I don’t over purchase or get ripped. Good info
I hope it helped!
Useful information thanks for sharing and you got charismatic personality I really like the way you explained the topic
Glad it was helpful!
Me and my family are going to start getting into to archery I will have to definitely show them this video
Awesome! Happy to hear that!!
YUP, I'm a beginner looking and thinking about a bow and enjoyed your informative channel.
Glad it was helpful!
I was interested in this as a hobby during quarantine but this vid kindof set me away from buying into it, so thank you. Just way more complicated then I thought
Complicated at first, but I'm always here to help if you have any questions!
FYI New Bowhunters: For about $375, you can get a great compound bow with infinitely adjustable draw lengths & weights, fully loaded (stabilizer, sight, arrow rest, etc...), arrows and a case. It's a Diamond Infinite Edge Pro by Bowtech. It was my first bow and I got my first deer with it (a big 6 point buck) 6 weeks after picking up a bow for the first time in my life and putting in hours of time at the range for practice. When you upgrade from it, you can pass it on to a younger hunter because it can be drawn down to much lighter weights & shorter draw lengths.
Now I shoot a Mathews with all the prime accessories.
Yes, all true.
Oooo I just looked at this bow. Definitely gonna be my first bow. Thanks!
Thank you looking for my first one so I am probably going to buy that one
Gonna look into this my wife wants to start bowhunting,. First timers
Your video is pretty good, my family likes to go hunting and we usually use shotguns but using bow has been one of my dreams and with this information now I have at least the basics, thanks!!!!
Thanks for watching. Glad you liked it!
Arno?
I absolutely needed and loved this video, even if it's just to satisfy my random love for "beginner tips" videos. I do love the aesthetics of Archery and love movies with archer. And who knows what happens in the short future. Anyway I really appreciate it😁
Glad you liked it Alex!
Myself and my wife are not hunters, but we are big on outdoors and back yard archery, camping, trail walks. I love watching married couples like yourself and Alexis outdoors. Where husbands and wives can enjoy outdoor activity's. Y'all are awesome.
Glad to hear that. Thanks for watching Jesse!
thank you so much for sharing
Blimey! Didn’t realise the cost of all this, and the gear you need! I live in England, and just don’t think we have shops like that, or at lest are aware of any! Brilliant video! Very very informative! However, going to have to consider this one now, and decide if it’s worth bothering with!
I wish I watched this video before buying a bow. Thanks for the GREAT info.
Thanks for watching Chelsea!
Im a total noobie and your video helped me out so much. I watched a bunch of these what to buy or watch before you buy videos buy yours was the best. Simple and to the point. The gear is overwhelming!
Glad I could help!
@@OutdoorsAllie Cheers! Went to the shop today and spent like 4 hours picking out a bow getting it setup and walked out with a Hoyt Ventum 30! Your video helped a lot prior to going in!
I'm about to go on the archery journey thanks for the info.
Happy to hear that!
Thank you so much for this breakdown. Trying to get into archery with my 14yr old daughter.
Glad it was helpful!
I've been interested in archery for a while and am a noob so thank you for the great tips and advice, I needed this!
Same! I bought a bow a couple of days ago BEFORE watching this. I hope the draw length is okay, otherwise 😵
@@muddymuz7266 Hopefully it works out for you! I'm getting my first compound bow (used) from a family member but I'm glad I saw this so I can bring it to a shop and figure out if it's a good fit and have them tune it up. I thought I could just start using it before I saw this video lol.
@@nicole_a_11 haha! Right? My bow and I are off to the hunting shop tomoz for an adjust. Bought compound bow from hock shop for $250. Need to drop draw weight as 65lb is impossible atm! Will need to spend about another $140 I spose on arrows, target, arm guard etc. So I'm in for about $400.
I CANT WAIT to have my bow set up and ready for use! Roll on tomoz!!!
All the best Nicole. I'll keep my eye open for your comments around the beginner archery pages.
Let's get good!!!
🏋️
So glad to hear that you're getting involved in archery! It will be a great journey. Thanks for watching, I will continue to put out content like this!
@@muddymuz7266 All the beat to you as well! I am excited to start a bew potential hobby 😁
I found this video very helpful. Thank you!!!
Glad it was helpful!
@@OutdoorsAllie I’m just getting into archery. Never did it before. Wasn’t interested until I moved to North Dakota where the only tags you can buy over the counter are bow tags. Thank you again!
Going out to purchase my first bow next week so I'm really glad I stumbled in to your channel. I'm a complete newbie and know nothing about bows or bow hunting. I've recently retired so now is the time to try new things...right??!! Soooo, this is the year my wife and I will get in to bow hunting. Thank you again!!
Thats awesome. So happy to hear that!!!!
May I make a suggestion for you , look into the Bowtech infinite edge bow, it's very compact ,light, and most of all its very adjustable for draw length, and poundage of pull, as your strength increases you can up the pull on the bow, it's a bow that anyone can grow with, also affordable, you can add better gear as you get better, better sights, ect.also buy new so you don't buy problems , some used bows will need news strings bearings ,have been dry fired which can totally ruin a bow, learn the safety of using it and maintaining it like inspecting and waxing of strings, not hard to do hope you have a great experience
i would just have added right and left eye dominance where getting a bow. thank you for this!
Good point!
Good video. Definitely a lot of good things to think about when starting out. One thing I would like to point out is in the beginning when you're talking about equipment. The first choice someone needs to decide is whether to go instinctive or not. I bought a used bowl that had all the bells and whistles on it and was shooting decently but not great. I stripped everything off except for the drop-down arrow rest and stabilizer, and just went with a leather fingered glove and my grouping improved by inches. Some people can just shoot better like that. And it definitely helps to save on cost. Just something to think about
Thanks for the feedback Brian!
Just came across this video looking for something. And because im still a beginner, i got interested to watch. ive only been shooting arrows for about 2 months now. Im still learning. I didn't go through these steps but i wish i did so i could have chosen the right bow for me to buy. I bought a bow that i thought was the only one available, but its not too bad. But i still picked up some good stuff on this video. Like i said im still a beginner. I like this video, it has good information for beginners or wanting to start bow hunting or just target shooting. Thank you.
Thanks for watching Andrew! Enjoy your new bow!
The diamond edge is a great beginners bow it's very adjustable from poundage, draw length from a young hunter to a grown adult.
For sure!
G'day from Australia. Watched the video and I now bought a compound bow. I have a couple of acres to practice on. Looking forward to participating in the sport.
That is awesome. You're going to have a blast!
Very informative, I'm new, and this helped.
Glad it was helpful!
Such a helpful video. Thank you!

Hello. In the infancy stages of Bow Knowledge. Seeking to become a skilled Bow man. This was the VERY FIRST video info that i viewed. Well done. This is Very Encouraging video. Great persona. Nice com skills. To the point. No fluff. What a time saver ( very very important to me!) To many vid makers get in their own way. Liked and Subscribed with first viewing.

Great video! Thanks a lot.
Glad you liked it!
Watched this just after buying my 1st compound bow, no regrets concerning my purchase afterwards.
Happy to hear that!!!
You shot me through the heart.
And your to blame! Darling you give looove a *bad name!*
Great video. Lots of good info. A good base line for the stuff you actually need is about 300-400 dollars roughly minus the bow.
Yes, true.
You may go over 500 depending on the stuff you pick but I got a hoyt rx3 for 800 plus the quiver for it then paid an addition 400 bucks including taxes and services to get the bow tuned and adjusted for me.
Great tips for a beginner, thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the tips! This video is exactly what I’ve been looking for! Last year was my first year ever hunting and this year I am wanting to get into bow hunting! As a female, I am a little nervous about draw weight. Do you have a youth/compact bow or just a regular one and what is your draw weight?
I have a womens Mathews bow, however I used to have a youth both. My draw weight usually fluctuates between 45-50
For all the aspiring archers out there, I stumbled upon a phenomenal beginner's archery video online that is an absolute game-changer. Whether you're a complete novice or have a budding interest in this age-old sport, this video is an invaluable resource that will kickstart your journey toward mastering the art of archery.
