Yes, nostalgia is the word. When you hear or see something that kind of takes you back to a different time. One of my favorite Beastie Boys tracks is Flute Loop. I don't see many people talk about that one, and I can't really explain why, but it's one I go back to often.
Heres some good Beasties songs yall should react to - Rhymin and Stealin', hold it now hit it, Car Theif, Shadrach, Pass the mic, Do It, looking down the barrel of a gun, Unite, Jimmy James, high plains drifter, body movin', Alive, ok, don't play no game that I can't win
BTW, MCA's verse is a Diss directed at the Rap Group 3rd Base, who signed to Def Jam after the Beasties left and they straight Bit some of MCA's lyrics and we're publicly shit talking the Beasties at the time.
No, not bc of biting lyrics. Its for other reasons..1)Both groups were w/ Def Jam at same time, shortly They hung out together, but Beasties thought Serch was cocky & annoying. So Mike D made fun of him when he actually asked for advice from them. 2) Beasties left Def Jam and had legal court battle with Russell. So Serch sided with Def Jam & dissed Beasties to support Russell (3rd Bass made diss-track w/ rant about Beasties on their debut album. *it became known as "Village People wearing" diss-song, more than track's actual title). 3) Serch trashed Beasties in interviews too, especially after 3rd Bass broke-up then Pete Nice and Daddy Rich made amends w/ Beasties. Now Beasties and rest of 3rd Bass didn't like Serch
These have been my Beats for over 35 yrs! The Beasties are legendary . Please just do an entire channel on them and Pink Floyd ! It will keep u busy for many many years !🎄⭐️🎄
Not my fave Beastie Boys song. Check out "The New Style" if you haven't heard it yet. It's from the classic, very influential album Called Licensed to Ill
Could you look into the Gang Starr catalog of music & Atmosphere? They both have some great stuff. Gang Starr - Moment Of Truth, Work, Mass Appeal, Above the Clouds, Full Clip are all great songs. Atmosphere - Don't Forget, Sunshine, Yesterday, Virgo, Guarantees, Flicker, Shoes, Trying to Find a Balance, The Best Day and more, are a good
The Hello Nasty album was a very bass heavy album from the Boys. Super Disco Breakin, The Move, Body Moving, Intergalactic, Puttin Shame in your Game...all bump and all on the same album. For me though, Paul's Boutique is just a masterpiece beginning to end.
*Beastie Boys - "Shake Your Rump". And if you react to any 80's/90's rock, I'd love it if you guys checked out 'Skid Row - "Wasted Time", "Quicksand Jesus", In a Darkened Room" and "I Remember You". You can't go wrong with any of their songs and I don't know if you've reacted to them yet. Oh yeah, and if you do anymore Bill Burr.. you gotta check out his set of "Old Man Face". Funny AF!*
The Beastie Boys song that you forgot the title of, and mentioned, "was like, a minute long" might be this banger from Paul's Boutique: Hello Brooklyn. ua-cam.com/video/zFEmoqUtXr0/v-deo.html

I like the live versions of Flute Loop. The performance at the Tibetan Freedom Concert and Glasgow is really good.
one of mine too!!
Listen closely to the third verse, this is MCAs diss of MC Serch from 3rd Base...after the Bboys left DefJam, they tried to replace them with 3rd Base
More than that… MC Serch went to meet Mike D and they started clowning Serch. 3rd Bass released the song Sons of 3rd Bass which dissed Beastie Boys
The song is really of it's time. If you don't know 3rd Base, if you don't know about G-Son studios, this is all just words that rhyme.
Check out Beastie Boys - Shadrach, Car Thief, Get It Together ft Q.Tip
I agree with all of these suggestions! Also, their performance of "The New Style" on the Dave Chappelle Show is worth checking out.
Beastie Boys - Get it Together (Feat: Q-Tip) Please...
