    Hiya. Love the vid.
Only just started refurbishing some of my old rods and had never used epoxy before.
I'm doing a black one for a friend of mine who asked if I can do marbling and I said no but after seeing you do this flame affect I'm going to surprise him and do the flames just up from the fore grip.
Thanks again for a great vid and I've subscribed... Keep them coming. 😎👍

Awesome Marty and I’m so glad to hear you like the videos. Thank you for subscribing as well, and feel free to share a picture of the flames you make in that rod. I’d love to see how it turns out. Thanks again for watching and commenting.

Great video John. Will putting a coat of clear finish over the top add more depth to the flames?

Yes, it will give it a little bit more depth, and thank you for watching.

I assume you could do a thread wrap on the ends of the marbling? If so, the thread would need to be epoxied … so would you just epoxy the thread …or over the marbling as well?

Thanks for asking Clayton, and yes, I would lay another coat of finish over the pigment work again and any thread work added.

Would you still put black epoxy down first if you had black blank? Or would you just use clear epoxy

@@reelbluecustomrods I have never used the liquid pigments but I have used the crb powder which is mica powder. I never bought the liquid just because I was afraid it would dry out before I used it all up. I have learned alot about shading colors in the mica though lot of trial and error to get just the right color for marbling.

@@fishing-fanatic3427 - that’s great to hear and thanks again for sharing. I have had the liquid pigments for a while now, a few years, and they have not directed up yet, but do prefer the powder ones.
