Hi LINDSEY, I HAVE never seen it done with leather snake skin before, is the snake skin hard to find ? is it at hobby stores or at leather outlets ?

Hey Chris, my name is not Lindsey, it’s John, and yes you can get the snake skin from several different distributors. Mudhole would probably be the easiest.

I buy the 🐍 skin from a dealer. You can get it from Mudhole though and it’s priced fairly reasonably. Thank you for watching and commenting.

I use color preserver and then epoxy. Thank you for watching and commenting.

Nice job. My toughest experience is using rattle snake skin. There’s scales on the skin and if they fall off while wrapping the underneath of where the scale was turns a different color and stands out after epoxied.
Was wondering if the snake skin you used has scales or not and if maybe I was should have taken all the scales off of that rattle snake skin?

Was it something you just acquired, or did you buy it from a fishing rod component store like Mudhole or something?
