    Excellent video! Thank you so much! You remind me of Bob Ross - same mannerism and very easy to follow.

    Have you ever just added mica pigments to a little bit of epoxy instead of using the little jars or pigment? 100's more colors out there. Just curious if that would work. It works for me when I make pen blanks for turning. Looking at getting into this

      J M thanks for the info! I have not tried that but will look into it. I don’t think you will be disappointed if you get into this!

    Cool video, but I have a Phoenix rod but it’s not a blank, would it still be possible to do it ? Please let me know

      Danny Cabrera you can do this technique on any rod or blank. All you need is a way to support the rod and able to rotate. I hope this helps and thanks for watching.

    What was the metal object that you pulled out of the epoxy before you separated it?

    • @EagleEyeOutdoorsEEO
      @EagleEyeOutdoorsEEO  4 роки тому

      It’s a cylinder weight that comes with mixer. This will help mix the epoxy and help minimize bubbles.

    Could I do this to an already finished rod or would I have to sand down any finish that's already there? I have a split grip sorta like that one I would like to do this or a wrap with.

      This is a great way to freshen up an old rod or even a new one you just bought. Either way you want to go will be obtainable. The main thing to keep in mind is you need to make sure it’s clean. I use denatured alcohol which can be purchased at any hardware store.

      hes always running out of denatured alcohol bc he doesnt close the lid and it evaporates away haha appreciate the video EEO

    Is the finish smooth? Or rough because of using the toothpick?

    • @EagleEyeOutdoorsEEO
      @EagleEyeOutdoorsEEO  5 років тому

      It’s a smooth finish since the epoxy is self leveling. If you play with it to long and over work the epoxy allowing it to thicken, you might start running into issues.

    Is that thin set or thick set epoxy?

    • @EagleEyeOutdoorsEEO
      @EagleEyeOutdoorsEEO  4 роки тому +1

      Cane Corso I used ProKote on that one and it’s more of a medium. I have done with thin as well depending how much movement I want.

      @@EagleEyeOutdoorsEEO thanks, the rod looks great. Just played around with some marbling for the first time today, I found that I could leave the epoxy to tack up a little (thicken) and achieve different affects, as when I did it with more viscosity.
