Great tutorial. I am prepping to install hook keepers on a couple rods and seeing the process step-by-step def helps. U-40 or polyurethane for cork sealing has worked great for me too. Thank you.

Thank you and I’m glad you found the video useful. Also, U-40 is my go to for cork sealer. Thank you for watching and commenting.

I think the word you seek is "patina". (produced by oxidation over a long period)

I've tried a few different cork sealers. I've tried Danish oil, some cork cork floor sealers, mod podge, Kelly's, and U40...u40 is the best to me. Keeps the cork looking and feeling natural but protects it.

Yes, I love U-40 Cork Sealer as well. Best on the market in my opinion. Thank you for watching and commenting 🌈 sprinkles.

I may have missed your mention of it but is there any rhought of where to place the hook keeper depending upon fly, spin, or casting rod or left or right handed angler?

Those are great questions and things one could consider when installing a hook keeper. That being said, I also think there is a lot of personal preference that can go into that decision as well. You and I could have the exact same set up on a rod, but want the hook keeper in different spots, or maybe not even wanting one at all. Thank you for watching and commenting.
