This is your PSA to plant a blueberry bush. My grandparents planted maybe 20 blueberry bushes in the mid eighties. We still have about 12. They are BOSSES and make so many blueberries we can’t give them away fast enough. So every June and July I crave blueberries like crazy. I can’t recommend them enough.
If you are using frozen blueberries I recommend adding 1-2 tbsp off corn starch to the blueberry mixture and then they do not need to thaw and will be less liquidy
This is the exact recipe I’ve been using for fifty years! I got the recipe from a baking book my grandmother gave me of old American recipes. It’s my all time favorite!!
I've been making a similar recipe like this one for years! It calls for self rising flour and calls for 1 cup of flour/milk/sugar poured on top of melted butter, the fruit added topped with a sprinkle of sugar. My family goes crazy over it!! I just made it with fresh Georgia peaches too!
@@stonechops It calls for 1 stick of butter, 1/2 cup. But I usually put a little less. I actually mix the butter into the batter. I made a mistake one time and made it that way, and everyone liked it better!! And the recipe called for frozen fruit. But either one works! Blackberries are the favorite at my house!
@@PrincessOfLight008 Yes, I used fresh peaches. That is my favorite way to eat the recipe! And no, I didn't add the lemon zest or sugar. I just used frozen blueberries, then sprinkled 1/4 cup of sugar over the top before baking. That is what my recipe called for!
We made this tonight after we harvested a huge amount of our blueberries yesterday. It was a huge hit! Sooo good and incredibly easy to make. It’s definitely going into my rotation of awesome recipes. Thanks!
Right now, I’m drowning in peaches, so will try this! I’ll leave the sugar out of the fruit prep & see what happens! Thanks for all your wonderful baking inspiration!
A couple of weeks ago, I tried to make blueberry muffins. After scooping the batter in the muffin cupcake papers, I realised I'd forgotten to put the sugar in. So I tipped out all the muffin papers into a large square dish, sprinkled the forgotten sugar over, and baked it. It baked beautifully, just like this recipe. (I thought it wouldn't work).
I will forever be grateful that you clean out your mixing bowls! Lol it makes me cringe so hard watching people cook on UA-cam or tv and they never scrape the bowls! Pre-ordered my preppy kitchen cookbook while enjoying this recipe!! ❤️❤️
i done this twice ... just word of warning the heating of the dish and butter is a must otherwise it does not turn the right way .... if fallow exactly all ... it is a very nice recipe ... everyone was impressed ...
My god this was so delicious. My 9x12 was occupied so I had to use my 8x8. It came out super saucy and needed about 40 minutes to bake. But the family devoured it in one sitting. So light and fluffy.
Half blueberry and half sliced peaches mixed together (you can use canned peaches ,drained) make a dandy cobbler. Also fresh blackberries are out of this world in a cobbler. Homemade ice cream scooped on top, well honey you might get blue ribbons from your family and friends. I love your show.
Oh-h-h-h-h-h... That looks *amazing*! I LOVE fresh blueberries! (And the raspberries and blackberries my husband and I grow--which also disappear before we can make much of anything! 😆) Thank you for this mouthwatering recipe! I can't wait to try it! 💗💗💗
Im here in Oct 2023. Just made this. It turned out great! I used frozen mixed berries. We had it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was so good and very easy. Thank you!
I made a few mistakes cooking this but I will definitely correct them and do it again! I accidentally used salted butter and went a little too heavy with the lemon juice, I also cooked it in a dish that was too big. Everyone still loved it and since it was my error and definitely NOT the recipe I’m happy to say that’s 4 for 4 10/10 recipes we have cooked from your channel! We made one of your pasta dishes last week and it’s on the menu for dinner again tomorrow
Im sooooooglad that i found your channel. I really don't know how to bake unfortunately my boss asked me to bake frst lemon cake then orange cake but, surprisingly all turn out GOOD... 😭😭😭 Thank you for your calm and not complicated instructions... Ps. I used vanilla cake mix when i bake the orange cake im so worried that time but When You Said That Vanilla and Orange are Great Combination, its a relief... 🙇♀️
I love blueberry cobbler! One thing I’ve always loved about your videos (aside from the delicious recipes) is the well put together videos..it’s like watching a cooking show! 👍🏻☺️
I love blueberries 🫐and lemon 🍋. I've got to get to the store and get some blueberries 🫐. My whole family loves your recipes. Thank you for sharing and keep on caking 💜
I made this recently and my bf and I absolutely loved it! We served it with frozen vanilla yogurt instead of ice cream (as a healthier alternative) and it was sooo good!
All of the women in my Texas family were known as really good cooks, they all made cobblers using a pie crust dough, and usually a beautiful lattice top. When my Mom made cobblers she often made a bottom crust as well and that was my favorite because I loved the gooey bottom crust. I make a peach cobbler that mimics some peach preserves I received in a gift basket from San Saba, Tx. It had pecans and almond extract, oh my goodness the preserves were so good, but the cobbler is to die for! I’d like to make everything you bake John, but then I’d be forced to eat it too! 🤗 (by myself)
I saw your recipe online for the strawberry cobbler and I had a question about it and came here and I’m glad I found this video. I’m making it for Friday the 13th and I’m very excited to bake n eat lol 😆

I made this and umm I’ve been having dreams about it and I am NOT a dessert person lol. Most def bought more blueberries this weekend to make more. Gonna do a smaller baking dish tho so it is thicker. Mine was pretty thin. So so good tho and the lemon….chef’s kiss
Never make another version of. Cobbler since finding yours years ago. Family loves it. (In fact i have made at least half of your recipes at thia point.) Me and my family cant get enough.
I just made this it's cooking now... I'll let you know how it comes out. Only thing is I use a toaster oven so I can't for a 9-11 dish in so I used a smaller dish. Also I used that monk fruit sugar because I'm watching my weight. Question...how can you Brian and your boys look so great and fit with your cooking?? Everything you make looks great!!😀
I make a mixed berry cobbler with four kinds of berries and a bit of lemon juice. Top it with a streusel made with flour, baking powder and salt with light brown sugar, butter and vanilla. Bake it a half hour. Very good.
Looks tooo yummy delicious 😋 ful packed of flavoured perfectly done super amazing presentation stay blessed stay connected have a nice day fully support hope to see you around thank you

John: "This will be delicious with a scoop of ice-cream or a dollop of whipped cream!" Me: "Why not both?!" John: "Yes, you can do both" 🙂
