Hi friends! Hope everyone gets to make this delicious cobbler. The recipe has 3/4 cup of sugar (150g) mixed in with the dry ingredients, but it acceidentally got cut out of the final video! Happy Baking!
Hi John! My mom had the BEST Peach Cobbler recipe. Unfortunately, through a series of events, her most prized recipes were lost. She had a biscuit topping, with a sugar crackle glaze. She was so 'ole skool that she even "blanched" the peaches to remove the skin. Yours looks delish, and easier, too. All I would add is a dash of nutmeg and a splash of vanilla to the filling. A variation...make a Peach Melba cobbler, with the addition of freshly picked Raspberries! A little fresh lemon juice and zest, and a little Framboise liqueur! Perfect for the summer...always a pleasure to view your channel! ☺️
Stefan Marchione Check out Chef John’s recipe for peach cobbler on Food Wishes channel. That might be the one you are looking for . The topping is like a soft center, crispy sugar cookie. After spreading the batter on top of the peaches, you sprinkle liberally with sugar spray a bit of water on top.
I would only make it when peaches are in season, not with peaches that have travelled hundreds of miles on a truck. That's why Grandma was smart enough to only make it when peaches are in season.
For ease of peeling peaches ... blanch in boiling water for about 30 to 60 seconds .. remove to cold water.. they will be cool enough to handle in a few minutes and the peels will slide off ... * You're welcome ; ]

I grew up in Louisiana and my grandma was a maid and cook. She made a peach cobbler and a blackberry cobbler every Summer. Her regular pie crust was on the bottom. Growing up, we didn't eat much fruity dessert at home. Now that I'm all grown up, I do bake fruit dessert for myself and my hubby, but I'm more of a crumble kinda girl. I like to make blue berry crumble in summer, but now that peach season is upon us, I'm definitely making peach crumble! I'll be sure to try this recipe too, as I've never had cobbler before. Oh! And you are right, peach and cinnamon are a perfect match! :D
Oh yeah? Ina Fatten has a delectable Fresh Peach cake recipe I've been eyeing lately; looks perfect for fresh, end-of-summer Peaches! With a cup of coffee or tea, just perfect!
Just made this today with freshly harvested apricots from my garden and I must say; it turned out delicious. And also: my apricots were not skinned. I left the skin on and it melted away in the oven.
I added a more flour so I would have more topping. It tasted great and was super easy. I made one for my in laws and one for my dad. They both turned out great. I added brown sugar to the topping and it I like the effect it had. I have a feeling this would a going to become a requests dish. My mother in law called it crazy good.
That's 'ole skool. My mom did it that way. I think it just softened them, but made removing the skin easier. But you know what? That whole process is messier and more time consuming. Boiling, blanching, cooling, peeling, putting, and slicing.
Another great recipe! I've made this several times using canned peaches and apricots! The family and neighbors love it! They're blaming me for the extra pound(s) they've gained! lol

@@manalchoudhry1380 thanks for responding. I did add sugar to the peaches in the pan (brown and white sugar), but the recipe in the link also has 3/4 cup of sugar added to the batter as well (which he didn't add, and he also commented here at the top of the comments, but me being an idiot didn't see until after it was in the oven). I'm worried it's going to taste more like a biscuit than a cobbler!
@@manalchoudhry1380 But I gotta love my hubby and son: they said no matter what it'll turn out great, and we can pour maple syrup on it in the morning for breakfast if it needs a little extra sweetness 🥰
I just wanted to let you know I've made three of your desserts now and all three where a big hit with my family! Thank you so much! You are such a great baking instructor you are my only UA-cam Baker I will watch now
Wow..I really need to make this😋I always love His recipes
John, my mouth watered when you peeled the peaches... never had that experience before.
I didn't know your mom was Mexican! I would love love to meet her in some of your videos 😍😍
I grew up with my Grandmother, from Alabama and she had the pie crust type peach cobbler. Delish!
This is one of my all time faves! Can’t wait to try this 😍
I knew I could count on you for a delicious peach 🍑 cobbler recipe.! 🤤🤤🤤
John, please upload your workout routine in one video. :) How does this guy keep so fit after eating all these desserts !!
My mom used to put fruit/berries in a ceramic bowl and top with half a recipe of a layer cake. She would serve by spooning out by turning spooned portion upside down so fruit on top. She would serve warm with hard sauce or ice cream. I still make this but I have used a different layer cake recipe, but still reminds me of her making this treat for me during those summer months.
John, when you get LIKES just seconds after your video has been uploaded, you’ve got to know that you’re loved 🥰

I GREW UP WITH THE ENTIRE PIE CRUST.. MY GRANDMOTHER WAS THE ONE WHO INTRODUCED ME TO GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE AND PEACH COBBLER. I LOVE YOUR GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE RECEIPE,
When you put the butter in the pan, it reminded me of the cake gif where the person slices a cake, and then takes the unsliced portion
This is the way my mother made her cobbler too. Thank you!
Hi there you mentioned that your mom is Mexican, do you speak Spanish? and if so what if you make a recipe in Spanish that would be awesome if you do , lots of love from New Mexico 🥞🧈🥟🍰🥧🧁🍮☕💕😊
He has a tres leches recipe video on here :)
When I’m looking for random baking recipes I just make my way to John, I’ve tried a few recipes and have never been steered wrong
I can’t wait to try this out
My peach trees are blooming. Can't wait for the peaches to try this cobbler!
Edit: I was able to make 8 cobblers to share, just from 1 tree! They turned out AmAzing!
Wow

Peachy dory results! The best peach cobbler I’ve ever made for my sweetheart-easy and delicious. I wanted to get a picture, but it was gone before I knew it. Thank you so much for sharing your family’s recipe.
¡Felicidades!

Wow that’s amazing, I can see you enjoyed the recipe.
Was literally thinking about baking a peach cobbler today after baking your apple cobbler recipe which was amazing! I’ve been blessed with incredible luck haha love your recipes :)
I sometimes add a cup of blueberries (fresh or frozen ) to my peach cobbler recipe.
Woowwwww, I just made peach cobbler and it didnt turn out. Definitely using this next time😁
I Love a man that can cook and bake! All his recipes look absolutely scrumptious! 😋
Is this a coincidence or what?! I was literally about to search peach recipes!
Oh yeah? Ina Fatten has a delectable Fresh Peach cake recipe I've been eyeing lately; looks perfect for fresh, end-of-summer Peaches! With a cup of coffee or tea, just perfect!

Google reads your mind lol
Same! I swear he reads my mind.
Just made this today with freshly harvested apricots from my garden and I must say; it turned out delicious. And also: my apricots were not skinned. I left the skin on and it melted away in the oven.
I've been meaning to make peach cobbler. This is a sign that it needs to happen sooner rather than later. 🍑😋
I tried this recipe last night. It was so easy to put together and most importantly delicious!
I was not expecting the whole butter being thrown in😂😂
Grace C I had a good belly laugh at that too!😂😂
Me too
Thank you that you add the grams and C° for us EU - and thank you for the recipe it is perfect!! I have a new tradition now! 🥰🤗
"Cut off a tablespoon... and use the rest" 🤣 My kind of recipe!
I added a more flour so I would have more topping. It tasted great and was super easy. I made one for my in laws and one for my dad. They both turned out great. I added brown sugar to the topping and it I like the effect it had. I have a feeling this would a going to become a requests dish. My mother in law called it crazy good.
Dumb question, but could you blanch the peaches to make peeling them easier or would that negatively affect the flavor/cooking time?
That's 'ole skool. My mom did it that way. I think it just softened them, but made removing the skin easier. But you know what? That whole process is messier and more time consuming. Boiling, blanching, cooling, peeling, putting, and slicing.
I sooooo wish you were my chef!!!! I love your meals and desserts!!! 😋
Another great recipe! I've made this several times using canned peaches and apricots! The family and neighbors love it! They're blaming me for the extra pound(s) they've gained! lol
This is awesome. Tried this couple of times already. Kids love it, wife as well!
Nice 👌
You are the only person affecting my keto ! 😅. I have never been disappointed in ANY of your delicious recipes ! Yummmm thanks so much !
