- Hi Everyone, today I'm sharing my Granny's recipe for Blueberry (or any fruit) cobbler. She made some variation of this dish every Sunday for dinner after church. It is so easy and is the perfect thing to take to family gatherings. Hope you enjoy!
BLUEBERRY COBBLER
2cups of blueberries fresh or frozen (can substitute any fruit)
1 cup sugar + 1/4 cup
1 cup self rising flour
1 cup milk
1 stick of butter
preheat oven to 350 degrees. Use the stick of butter to grease a pie dish then melt the butter. mix sugar and flour together. Add milk and mix to remove lumps. Add melted butter a little at a time. Pour mixture into pie dish. sprinkle blueberries ( or other fruit) all over the top of the mixture. DO NOT STIR! Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup of sugar all over the top. Place on middle rack of oven and cook for 50 minutes or until evenly brown all over. (times may vary according to oven) Let cool about 30 minutes before cutting. Don't cover until it has completely cooled or the crust will get soggy.

This is similar to my cobbler recipe. I think people like it so much because it really let's the flavor of the fruit shine through..and all that yummy butter 😋 Thanks for sharing, Lisa ☺
Thanks for watching!
I like using canned pie filling.. Last night I did peach with pecans and a little brown sugar. Yummy
Sounds delicious 😋
I absolutely love your channel! Thank you so much for sharing your Granny’s Blueberry Cobbler recipe! I’m definitely going to make it as I have some blueberries in the freezer right now. 😊
Thank you! Enjoy the cobbler!
Thank you I wanted something simple, to try with my already made blueberry filling I made before hand.
I am hoping it comes out good. Next time I’ll try it with fresh blueberries. Will let you know how it came out in 30 minutes.
Great! I’ve used frozen blueberries and fresh and it tasted the same. My granny would use the canned filling sometimes and it was good too. I hope it turns out well for you!
I think a little lemon juice and zest would elevate this recipe a bit. I had some ripe nectars added a couple. I also added 1/2 tsp of baking powder and pinch of salt.
That does sound good!
Crepe myrtle Row is a beautiful name all we have is a hedge row , but we like them too🇺🇸
Thank you. I have 4 different rows of crepe Myrtle trees around my yard so that’s how I came up with my channel name.
Made this cobbler and it was a HIT quick question I'm doubling this recipe and putting it in a 9 × 12 baking dish do I need to increase the baking time I'm gonna check it after the 50 minutes and if not I'll keep baking it and checking on it every 5 minutes just courous thanks so much for this recipe it's a KEEPER IN MY HOUSE AND A BIG THANK YOU TO YOUR PRECIOUS GRANNY FOR PASSING THIS AMAZING BLUEBERRY COBBLER 😋💞🌺
Thank you! I’ve never tried doubling it so I can’t really answer your question. Hope it turns out great for you!
Turns out AMAZING but I keep an eye on it and let bake until the tooth pick comes out clean 10 to 15 minutes long just keep an eye on it oven Temps vary thanks for this recipe it's a KEEPER IN MY COOK ARSENAL 100 % 🥰🌺👍
@@lesliegriffin774 that’s awesome!
OH yummy!!!!! Mine is similar but yours looks prettier in a pie plate with that sugar crust!!! I put mine in a Pyrex square cake dish...( like MY momma😁).
Thanks! My pie dish has a lid and that’s why I like using it.
That looks delicious and I love blueberries too….when you use peaches or apples, do u use pie filling or fresh peaches or fresh apples?
Thanks. I’ve always used pie filling with apples and peaches but I would think if you chopped them up in small pieces you could use fresh. Also I’ve used both fresh blueberries and frozen ones and I don’t notice any difference.
I just put a blueberry one in my oven. I’ll let you know how it turns out
You're right about quarter of the pie serving sizes .....😊
❤️
I love your channel / just subscribed- where are you located.? Thank you God bless you 🌸🌱
Thank you and welcome to my UA-cam family! I’m in the upstate of South Carolina.
I notice you've said "dinner" "after church" a couple of times. By "dinner" do you mean lunch or supper? I'm sure alot of people aren't aware of us southerners using the word dinner for lunch. 😉
Greetings from Alabama. I'll be trying Granny's recipe today, thank you!
It’s lunch 🤣 funny thing is I only refer to dinner at lunchtime on Sunday. Every other day I say lunch and supper is always my evening meal. It’s a whole debate here in the south on what everyone calls those meals!
Yall someone told me a good tip this summer on cobblers..add a cup sugar in the raw with the white sugar in the recipe..then sprinkle it on top of the cobbler..it make such a good crunchy too!! Its fabulous.
I’ll have to try that!
How can I save this recipe?
The recipe is listed in the description box of the video. You can copy it and then paste it into a word document or just write it down. If you are using a desktop computer to view it then highlight the recipe then right click on your mouse and there should be a print option.
For fruits, use strawberries for Spring, this for Summer and blackberries for Fall.
Yes I’ve made them will all of those and peaches as well. They were all delicious! Thanks for watching
It’s called 1 cup cobbler. Yours looks great
Thank you!
I see you have a pie pan Linned with pie crust. Can you use another type pan and line it with pie crust as well? It is very pretty and I like it but just wondering. Thank you
This recipe doesn’t require a pie crust. But to answer your question yes you can make it in any type of dish.
I wished I had this recipe in writing. I could not hear all the instructions clearly. Can you send it to me in writing by email. Thanks
It’s in the description box typed out. And to answer your other question, you can make this in any dish you like. I would keep it about the same thickness as a pie pan would be to keep the cooking times the same. If you use a dish that would make it thicker then just keep a check on it as you may need to cook it longer. I hope you enjoy it. I’ve also had suggestions of adding some vanilla to it but I haven’t tried that yet.
PS - I’m connecting with you now in FB.
Cool!
What kind of flower did you use Plan o
You don’t put a teaspoon of vanilla in it ! It always has vanilla in it !
I’ve never seen one with vanilla in it. I might just have to try that.
@@CrepeMyrtleRow Lol not sure of to many deserts that don’t have a bit of vanilla in it. ! It’s good !
I’ll add it next time!
