    Kenco 3 in 1 are future, I have started using two sachets per cup for a nice strong coffee👌☕️
    I first started using them when travelling for work, decent coffee is hard to find in China, so it was like taking a taste of home into each hotel with me.. and now when I have it camping it brings back good memories

    Get well soon Nath, hopefully you will be back to full match fitness asap! I have had kidney stones myself about 25 years ago and never known pain like it, so best of luck to you buddy! That was a great walk into your camp and one thing for certain, if you had to get up for a pee in the night you would not lose your tent....The Alan Partridge taking book would great if you were tent bound or a copy of Dartmoor Tales and Mystery's. 04.00 am would be a great time to wake up in the summer, just right for the sunrise but in the winter...... but good to see once the mist lifted a bit you did get a stunning morning. Cheers Alan

    I sincerely hope Nath's on the road (or footpath) to recovery. Someone I know was in hospital over Christmas. I'm not particularly fond of this guy but I wouldn't wish the experience upon anyone. On the subject of sliding around inside a tent; Robin from Walk With Wallce gave me a great tip. Ikea sell something called 'STOPP'. It's a rubber mesh-mat designed to stop rugs from sliding on smooth floors. Inexpensive and easy to trim with scissors. I found it stopped my sleeping bag from sliding off the mat.

    Great video yet again Trev. I have to add that I've never had any condensation issues with my Lanshan, but then I don't cook in the vestibule with the flysheet closed, maybe that was the cause? You can get a 4 season inner for it which I highly recommend, it's a lot warmer and windproof. Hoping to see a review soon, I think it'll grow on you. I spilled an entire bottle of beer in mine, soaked my exped matt and rucksack, didn't smell too great either! Seems I'll never learn! Hope Nathan gets well soon. 👍🙂

    • @SummitOrNothing
      @SummitOrNothing  5 років тому

      A few people have commented that it was probably due to being such a still night and no breeze to keep air flowing. I may get the 4 season inner in time for next winter. I have another tent to try out the next time I get out and then I reckon spring will be on the way. Will get the Lanshan back out then. Haven't given up on it yet, still on the learning curve for me I reckon. Thanks for watching! All the best!

  • @adventure40s
    @adventure40s 5 років тому

    Nice one Trev, good luck Nath. Thanks for the warts and all experience.
    I think given the stillness of the air and temperature difference lots of condensation was inevitable.
    I’ve been successful using a bivvy bag, then putting my mat inside with down hydrophobic down bag, keeps everything together. Unless you are a really hot sleeper I would recommend a bag rated to -6/-8 bag in winter. Try Alpkit SkyeHigh 900 (my winter bag), also for the more budget conscious the Aegismax D3L, D4L or G3L off AliExpress are all good buys and up to the job.
    I have an M2L, high quality goose down which I find perfect as a 2 season bag (warm and really small pack size)

    • @SummitOrNothing
      @SummitOrNothing  5 років тому +1

      Yea I am always on the look out for some better and smaller sleeping bags for winter camping on a budget so thanks for the recommendations. You could be right about the condensation, it was the stillest I have ever known it. Thanks for watching!

    I’ve just noticed on an Outdoor gear UK based website a hand warmer which runs on lighter fuel, for only £3.50.
    Funnily enough my grandma gave me one of these, probably 50 years ago. My father bought me some lighter fuel and if my memory isn’t failing me, it worked pretty well.
    It seems Zippo are now the popular brand of these products, but other similar ones exist.
    Have you ever tried them ?

    Hi Trev. Sorry to hear about Nath. Hopefully on the way to recovery soon. Regarding the pitching of the Lanshan. When you peg out the apex guy ropes, there is a knotted loop someway down the guy rope. Peg that bit out. There then should be a double black plastic twin hook. This attaches to the wedding loops on each door. Effectively giving you two guy topes, both are adjustable. This means that you can open either door just by dropping one of the plastic hooks off of the webbing loop. It also means that you have enough pegs. Everything remains tight and taught. Hope it helps. This video shows the sort of thing at 1:08 ua-cam.com/video/03vkK-ujWzY/v-deo.html

    I've used a Jetboil for years but recently changed to a Jetboil Minimo, it has a wider pot, it's so much more practical. Where do you get your food bags from? Keep up the good work.

      Yea the zip is quite a minimal sized pot. I'm still umming and seeing as to what to cook on next. There's links to the food bags in the videos description. They're proper handy.

      Hi Jay - I am intending to get away from the Jet boil, and looking into possibly trying the Trangia out for a spell, so watch this space.I am getting fed up with premade foods, and after having homemade chili and stew out on the trail (both of which taste better after they have been frozen for a few weeks) I don't fancy going back. I will give you a shout some time for sure, it'd be good to catch up. all the best, mate!

Glad to hear that you are enjoying these videos in their full length.
