It’s a good tent; I’ve got the lanshan 1; takes a bit of practice putting it up adjusting the poles, guys etc , really is easier on flat ground. 2 feet forward, use these exact tents and had them up Pen y fan in some bad weather and they performed well 👍
Yeah, I think Lucy from two feet forward mentioned them before - and I have a friend who owns and swears by them, so I'm sure that I have made an error or two in the setup. Will look into it further down the line. Thanks for commenting!
Pls, can you tell me lanshan 1plus enough for 1 person or should i get 2 person version
I had naturehike cloud up 1 before its a little bit smaller for me
I know lanshan 1 good for weight but adding 300g for lanshan 2 it's not a problem for me
Pls tell me your exp, thx
I have heard some good things about these tents but also there is a learning curve to to set up. Great first use review.
Cheers, Max - yeah, they are a supposed to be great little tents, so I am sure that I have failed in the set up somewhat!
Used it last year on my E to W crossing of Scotland (Stonehaven to Inverie). Set up takes a bit of practice. Very pleased, also very lucky with the weather. Not at all sure how it would hold up in strong winds, as it is quite high and the stakes are short. Made it policy to avoid windy spots.
I dont blame you - bettre safe than sorry. I've heard that it actually performs well in strong winds, but I wouldn't like to risk it. Thanks for watching!
Nice tents those Trev, especially for the money. The bathtub should clip or attach to the corner of the fly to pull out more. Being Silnylon you'll need to retention the lines 30 mins or so after pitching to reduce any sag. Regarding the color, Mountain Rescue advocates the use of bright tents and bright clothing whilst on the hills.. A pole height of 120-125cm is what a guy I know with one uses. 3F also make a 2/3 solid inner for it for 3-4 season use. ATB, Dave
Tell that to Andy Boardman below haha - I will have a play about with this set up again in future, was certain that I had done something wrong, as I have heard good things about them. I didn't doubt for a minute that the failure was in my own ability to put it up properly (or not). Cheers for watching!
I DONT DOO HILLS
Hi.
Don’t be afraid to tight all guidelines properly. Bathtub on one side was flat due to wrong pitching (they stronger than that look and feel). I am using bungee cord on both flat sides of a tent, so I don’t have to go back to adjust tightness. I used mine in about 30-40mph wind in Dartmoor and I am pleased to say, that Lanshan pass that test beautifully. Trekking poles height, I was using are between 115 to 130. Depending on how big gap I want it for ventilation purposes.
I like it so much that I am planning to buy new 3/4 inner and try it in winter.
Thanks Trev. A great first use review. Looks like it is best suited to a very warm light wind summer night with nil precipitation. Best to go back to the Banshee for the winter months for your own safety I think Trev. ATVB Graham
I was due to go out again anyway, probably would have taken the Naturehike again - a bit less claustrophobic for those long nights. Will master this set up again in the spring / summer though. Plenty of choice of tents now.
Evening, I watched this the first time and thought "what a heap of crap"! Then I read some of the comments and started looking at other videos and how they are pitched. After watching a few more I've now ordered one! What a turnaround! I think you need to do a follow up one after watching these other pitching tutorials to do the thing proper justice! Cheers for the video! I love following the antics of you two guys!
Yea, I will indeed do a follow-up video, I knew I was making a balls up and have since watched the very same tutorials. I had watched them all before a long time ago which was what made me want to buy, too. Seem's I had forgot all that I thought I knew. Good luck on your own adventures with the Lanshan. Thanks for watching!
It’s often worth looking on UA-cam to see how a tent should be pitched before you do a how not to video! But great fun and blissful optimism as usual. Best wishes MichaelT
Haha ! I know, I know... especially the Lanshan - its not as straight forward as most!
I have this tent and used it a couple of times (once in a storm) and love it. The first time you pitch it it's a bit of a learning curve but second time around I got it spot on. Can't be arsed to read all the comments so may be repeating..
Peg out the four corners of the fly first, whack in the poles guying each one as you put it in at about 125cm high (adjust according to weather). The doors hook on to a loop on the guy line so no need for extra pegs and the inner hooks around the same peg as the outer. You'll find little loops in the middle of the groundsheet to stick the pointy end of the poles through to keep the middle spread out. Check the points where the guy lines attach to see if it needs sealing. The seam sealing is flawless on mine but then they sewed through it for those bits 😂
You can buy a 4 season inner separately, less mesh but somehow about the same in weight
Thanks for the tips - I have yet got to get back out for another run in this tent, even if its just to practice putting it up (I have no garden at the moment :-( ) Your advice will come in handy when I do. Looking forward to the day that this becomes my go to tent, especially as it will be weight saving considerably for when I camp along the South West Coast Path.
Thanks for watching! All the best! Trev!
Haha! Yea, a lot of people telling me what i am doing wrong lol. It was a bit of a mind field and I made the mistake of just taking it straight out on the trail. I have had a lot more use out of it since and seem to be getting on ok with it. As you say though, need to swap out the inner. thanks for watching.
Ive been debating on getting this tent....great honest review my friend....new subscriber here!
Thanks very much. Its a great tent - bit strange to set up initially - I ended up buying additional pegs but apparently you don't need them. Thanks for watching!
Great video yet again Trev. I shan't add any advice as the previous comments say it all. When pitched properly it's a great tent. Not your fault though, as you've probably noticed it comes with no instructions! I reckon your condensation issues were caused by the lack of ventilation due to the pitching, now I've seen both videos. I've used mine in torrential rain, thunder and lightning, strong winds, hot summer and sub zero temperatures with no problems. Can't fault it. 🙂
Cheers Mr G. Its been a great little tent and I have had some good use out of mine since (and got the hang of putting it up too... kind of haha). Just need a 4 season inner and I'm set to take it out in the winter too. Thanks for the comment!
Good video,, its cold out their !!! good video , the great outdoors
Cheers. Thanks for watching!
The best video I've seen for what not to do when setting up this tent!! Maybe next time learn how to setup the tent properly first and then maybe try to use it again. All the issues you had are due to the way you put it up.
Haha! Yea - I did watch videos, but it all went out the window on the trail, and this was literally delivered to me as I was loading up my car - I have had many more successful camps since. Sometimes though, I still find it a bit of a fiddle. Thanks for watching!
Good tip about pegging out and I like the way you kept in the tent falls, instead of editing them all out. It is obviously very lightweight but I think I would rather carry a bit extra weight and have a bit more solid around me to be honest. Cheers Alan
You know me, Alan, warts and all. I will give it another go or two before I write it off due to my own inability to set up properly. Thanks for watching!
Ok mate. Look forward to see it
Walking poles are the next best thing to sliced bread. Carbon poles are very light. Look for poles with lever adjustments rather than twist and lock which can be unreliable. I prefer cork handles with foam extension. Montem make a good pole at a very reasonable price and are available on Amazon U.S.
Amazing sunset and sunrise!
Was a great evening / morning for it! Be sure to check out the full video this weekend of the whole camp for more stunning images. Thanks for watching!
Ive also been looking at this tent and now ive seen you put it up it confirms to me that i would prob loose my temper with it especially in the wind lol I have a Geertop pyramid tent goes up easier than that but being a kit junkie as they call us im still on the hunt for a super light tent thats bigger than my Geertop. That Naturehike one man you have is looking good also seeing as i have two other Naturhike tents im impressed with not only their price but there weight and quality. Thanks for making this vid all the best Sir.
Yeah, I do like he Naturehike. Its easy to put up, the lanshan here was a bit of a faff, but I'm hoping that with a little bit of practice I will get it down to a T. Thanks for watching!
I have this tent it is great i love it so light an easy to set up after yu learn how to do it thn its a breeze
Yea, so I hear haha. I will have to get back out and give it another try soon.... making sure I master how it goes up, lol. Thanks for watching!
Trev, does the inner come as standard? I had a look at the link in the video but it wasn't 100% clear if it was? Cheers Andy GTGO
This video is comedy gold. I swear I’m laughing with you bro!
You should write to geertop ask to review their alpine 4 season tent. I took one to Dartmoor other weekend. Not the lightest but brilliant in high winds. I am female and carried it fine in my tent. I have red one with yellow inner. When I complained about zips on one I received they sent me a replacement inner and fly from China. New one is slightly heavier (old was 2.8 new 3.2) I think worth the weight in terms of space and tent stability. It's a cheerful tent to be in. Lit up like a beacon on Dartmoor at night so not for stealth camping. Brilliant winter tent.
Ah, I have heard the Gerertop mentioned a few times now. I shall have to look into it. Sounds great. Thanks for watching, Niks! Cheers!
Good little tent there Trev once you get the hang of it your get a nice taught pitch. Take care Cheers Karl
I'm sure it is, Karl. Will give it a try again in the spring! Cheers for watching bud!
sorry trek but you set it up wrong ... in fact you did exactly what i did on the front and back door first time i set mine up😂😂.... there’s a couple of cords in the tent bag that have a knotted loop and a plastic hook thingy you use that on the on the doors what this does is raises them up and the tent pitches correctly .... there’s a pretty good you tube on the website showing how to set it up properly.... once you set it you are going to say “oh yes of course” just like i did 😆anyway once you pitch it correctly there’s a lot more air flow and that condensation you noticed is greatly reduced .... something to be said for setting it up in the garden once or twice before setting out for the moors .... also you need to seam seal a couple of spots but there’s lotsa info on youtube on these tents .... don’t give up on it it’s a cracking little tent for the money 👍👍
damn spell check .... it’s Trev 😂
I am not surprised that I set this up wrong - I didnt really watch any tutorials before I went out and I haven't got a garden at my home - plus I thought it would h=make a better video if I idiot tested it. I did make sure I checked that there were pegs though. Hopefully, I can do some revision and pop it up to our local common ground for a test flight or two before I take it out again in the spring.
I made this exact same mistake.
it's not a bad idea to replace those parts (plastic double hook thingy), with a Zpacks Double-Hook Apparatus where the double hook is metal. Also not a bad idea to replace some of the guy lines with improved strength cord - about a $10 investment that strengthens the tents pitch. 25+ MPH wind would likely really test the components they include.
Nice demo, honestly. I think everyone thinks that just because you backpack you should be able to figure out every shelter system out the gate. I have the Lanshan 3 - Teepee (great tent by the way) and it didn't come with instructions either. I set it up a few times before taking it out and still struggled a little in the field. These tents are a built surprisingly well for the price, but do require a certain level of expertise or at least experience to pitch correctly. Giving a like and a subscribe.
Thanks very much, Paul - I have a little difficulty still, but I have got better lol. Its not as straight forward as most tents and I hope that my video goes to show that... what I do is idiot test gear haha. Thanks for watching and subscribing! Cheers!
Beautiful evening there. Awesome sky. 👍👍
Cheers, Steve. Was a nice night, mate!
I’m a “put it up without reading any instructions” type of bloke as well, so this review was just the ticket. It does look very low, so I wonder about how much room you get with a long size pad. Look forward to your upcoming comparison with the nature hike esp. regarding inside space, ease to put up and pack size. Have a good one.
It literally turned up on my door as I was about to leave the house so I didnt really have any time to revise, but yeah, I usually am that guy any way lol. Will get a more comprehensive review out when I've got a few more camps under my belt. Thanks for watching, James.
What was the temperature that day (day/night)?
I'd like to see you put this up in windy conditions. It looked quite fiddly without wind. LOL.
Top vid as always. Keep it up.
Yeah, right! It was a bit of a faff. Hopefully I can get it down to a T soon. Thanks for watching!
Really keen on one of these. Currently using OEX jackall II and there is some weight to it.
Yeah, I've took this out twice now, surprisingly roomy. Found it easier to throw up the second time out too.
Lanshan sell a winter inner separately, on Aliexpress. Your pitch may have been a wee bit off, comes with practice. Trekking pole tents can withstand decent winds if pitched properly, check out Hounds of Howgate using the Zpacks Duplex in Scotland.
Flames Creed (dodgy name, I know) sell the Lanshan in green. It’ll still glow at night, but might be a little less offensive during the day.
Unless you are aiming to do serious multi day / week / month hikes, there is nothing wrong with the Lanshan. Otherwise save up and get the Zpacks Duplex at half the weight without pegs but at 10x the price.
Thanks Wynand for the feedback. I was looking at the Flames Creed for a spell, but went with the bog standard in the end. One day I will hope to get some more up market tents but for the time being I'm just enjoying testingout these lower priced tents - providing I can pitch them properly first heh? Thanks for watching!
Summit Or Nothing Buying gear and trying it out is secretly half the fun of hiking and camping. You guys are doing great! Thanks for all the vids!
I couldn't believe what google translates so I edit my videos and fixed most of them. Good luck happy camping, I also have the same tent. 😀
Haha! Yeah, good old google translate. Thats quite a job to go through and alter them all. Maybe when I can afford to pay someone else to do it lol. Thanks for watching!
Interesting tent that. Pretty sure the groundsheet clips to the outer in a couple of places. The rest do need pegging out. You can get 4 season inners too. Will wait to see a camp in your normal weather first 🌧
Yep - I'm sure that I need a closer look, but probably wait until the spring now. Thanks for watching!
Interesting but i'll wait for further road tests although i would of thought it wouldn't suffer as much from the condensation.
Its got to be how I set it up. WIll give it another try in the spring!
Looking at the pictures, the fly sheet does seem quite high off the ground, so I don't think you'd got it wrong. Mesh only on the inner definitely isn't as warm - our backpacking tent is the same and I don't think I'd want to do winter camping in it. It'll be interesting to see how it fares in high winds - I'm sure you'll find some gnarly weather to take it out in... lol!
Yeah, I have o tweak it in a few places I think, and will probably wait until the spring at least before I take it out again. Hopefully I can get it to stay up in high winds. Will soon tell, I'm sure. Thanks, Karen!
Have you worked out that the tent doors connect to the guy lines
Not sure, but something seems a bit off with that tent or its setup.
I know I've banged this drum before, did you use your trekking poles for hiking or just as tent poles? Are the poles worth carrying, if they only help a bit on the steep parts?
I only really bought them for this tent set up to be honest, will have a closer look and see what the weight is with them when compared to say the Banshee or the Cloud Up 2. We tend to take the poles wehen we are venturing up mountains, so once I master this tent set up then maybe it will become my mountain tent.
Watching because I've just ordered one, subscribed due to the genius channel name!! Best of luck, give me a shout if you're heading over to West or North Wales any time.
Thanks Cole.must have missed this comment when you posted. How are you getting in with your lanshan? And hope you have continued to watch Summit or Nothing .
Hi, watched loads of your reviews and was wondering what your thought are regards the MSR elixir 2? cheers.
Ive not got one myself but did go out with a friend who had one, maybe this video will help.
ua-cam.com/video/PNbl1M-3xkw/v-deo.html
There is a winter inner tent for it as well on AliExpress. Weight is actually the same.
Yea, I have still yet to get it but I am aware. Thanks for watching!
Excellent Review Mate
Cheers Mark! It got idiot tested...lol
Watch other reviews mate and you'll see how to set it up correctly , I'm sure once you've got it set right you'll love it, I'm ordering one of these in a few weeks time 👍
Yep, I have done and it has become my tent of choice.... Well, through the summer. Just need to get the 4 season inner and then I'm set for the winter!
Summit Or Nothing I've had mine months now and love it, even used it for motorbike camping, strap my walking poles across the back seat between the hard cases. Love it and plenty of space for my bike gear 👍🏼
LOL! What a disaster! I would have gone through the same if I had not viewed a couple of videos and practiced at home. All good and fun. Watch the setup video and give another go!
Haha! Yeah, was a bit of a nightmare this, but that teaches me for rushing out with it before giving it a test run any where. Still, have got it down to a T now and love it! Great tent. Thanks for watching!
Cracking tents 4 the cash. You can get them in green & black . Make sure to seam seal the side tie out tabs on the fly as they have been sown thru in the manufacturing process ( clear silicone with a little white spirit works best) . With a bit of practice it's easy to get a nice tight pitch .I pitch mine outer first then attach the inner. That works well 4 me . That small tab by the door @ the bottom is for the trekking pole spike to go thru. It's for keeping the inner taught & square. Plenty of pitching vid's on YT will show how to get the doors ' right 'when pitching. You use the line with the adjusters on it and put the peg thru the loop on the line.
Thanks for the advice - I have since watched numerous videos so hopefully will have more of a clue what I'm doing when I'm next out - thanks for watching! All the best!
Hiya. I might have been a bit hasty before. Will you do one of your tent reviews and score it?
I will indeed after a few more nights out in it and once I get a feel for it. Definitely.
Can anyone help, I'm looking at getting this tent. Do the newer ones need seam sealing? If so what do people use... Thanks guys 👌👌
I think many people tend to seam seal them when they get them, just to be safe!
I own one of these tents a love it i did 10 days on the AT with it. You do have it set up wrong as others have said, the vestibules should only use one peg and a guy line that has two attachment points one should have a double hook looking thing that is where the doors attach. Once set up properly it should be taunt and the vestibules will be off the ground by about 4-6 inches this will also nearly eliminate all condensation. Do a search on here for this tents set up there are several good vids.
Yeah, I don't doubt for a second that I didn't have it set up properly. I had heard good things, had watched videos in the past but on this morning I was on my way out when it arrived - so I took it (checking only that there were pegs included.) Lesson learnt, I think. Thanks for watching and for the feedback. All the best!
I’ve got one of these but I wouldn’t use it in the winter. If the wind is over 20 miles an hour it struggles to stay up. It does however make an excellent tent in the summer, it being light and airy.
I have heard that this is a great and durable little tent - which is why I went for one - but will see whether I can get the erection down to a tee in future. But yeah, I may wait until spring to try that... Thanks for watching!
1st pitch is a sharp learning curve with the Lanshan 2 . However with practice and correct tension and pole height it is a performer.. and at 77 quid nothing lighter for sure..
Aye! You're right on all levels there. Love this little tent.
Don’t know about this one bud ... in a bit of a blow it would take off ... good in a tropical environment... ... thanks for sharing 👍🏻👍🏻
I've heard good things about this tent so will not give up on it just yet - I'm sure that I struggled to handle my erection properly haha! Thanks for watching!
Glenn Fryer
30-40mph did nothing to mine. Whole night in Dartmoor UK. It was flapping like crazy but survived.
6:28 - you can get a "winter" inside. Which is same weight, but is wind-proof. Except at the top.
5:05 - I saw some other videos, and they pull the door with a rope. This is why people say, put your tent up before you go camping. :)
I know, I know haha! I have had a few more successful camps in this beaut since (sort of). Thanks for watching, and cheers for the feedback!
Loop on the groundsheet for the bottom of the poles to go through at ground level
Cheers John!
Have you camped in this in stormy weather? Has condensation ever been an issue? I’m thinking of buying this
Not been out in too stormy a weather, myself, but I know plenty who have and swear by it. This was the only time where condensation was an issue to be fair, and I imagine it was only because the air was so still. Thanks for watching!
Great review Trev. When we used to go camping many moons ago we found that on a very still night with no wind we would always get condensation on the inside of the tent but even in a light breeze it eould be dry inside. I think this is because we are breathing out moist air & it cannot escape from the tent when it's calm. A breeze would constantly be sending new air from the outside into the tent thus helping to dry up any moisture. Cheers mate.👍👍
Yeah, you could be right bud, but I think the fact that the two skins were touching certainly wouldn't have helped matters. Cheers for watching!
That's a good test - how does the tent set by the average person. I'm sure most tents are OK when set up with massive tension on the perfect ground by an expert, but this is what I want to see. Thanks for that.
We are looking for a wild camping tent for 2 at the mo. Our big red (berghaus peak 3.3) is too big and obvious for wildcamping.
Yea, I call it idiot testing haha... this is probably one of the trickiest tents to get to grips with (although many will disagree) especially as this was my maiden test, but once you get the hang of it it's a brilliant tent. There's plenty more tent review videos over at my channel so make sure you give us a sub. Cheers! Thanks for watching
Ummm...think I'll reserve comment on the tent although the review itself was good. Were there any instructions in the bag? The doors (and sides) on my SMD Lunar Solo LE stand high from the ground if the tent is erected correctly - aids ventilation, raises the bathtub and reduces condensation.
30 minutes later - go to this channel - he shows how to set up, etc.
Packraft Sverige
There wasn't any instructions and I must admit that I didnt really watch any tutorials before I took it out - just wanted to see how straight forward it would be. The answer... not that straight forward. I'm sure its a great little tent but was a faff to put up when compared to all the othertents I have used. Oh, well, won't write it off yet, practice makes perfect, eh!
So bottom line question, Lanshan 2 or Cloud Up 2?
Still undecided. So far, I must say I like the Naturehike more for its ease to put up, the Lanshan was a bit of a faff, but with time and practice, its supposed to be a lot easier, so will have to wait and see.
Trev..… heres a nice review of the proper setup .. worth a look for next time...you can see what I mean about the way the plastic hook thingy works on the doors.... and how the bath tub floor doubles up on the corner pegs.... Haze Outdoors uses the 1 person version... and I remember when he started using it he hated it.... then he worked out how to set it up correctly and frankly it became his go to tent for his long distance hiking.... keep up the good work... always look forward to your videos... ua-cam.com/video/XqbZs790u_k/v-deo.html
Just watched this video this afternoon. If only I had watched it before my adventure,eh?
So, you didn't put this up at home before your got to your camp? I can't follow a fellow like you.I can only image if the weather had been poor.
I know, bit silly but the postman delivered it as I was loading my car so I threw it in like a kid at Christmas and rushed out.
Btw, is this the 3 season or 4 season version. Looking at it on Aliexpress.
This is the lightweight summer version - its a bit challenging to stay warm in it through the winter! I can change the inner though, just haven't as of yet!
@@SummitOrNothing ok. Yeah, I thought so. I'm looking into getting ome, but I'm still new with tents and wasnt sure how much more different it'd be from the 4 seasons.
@@KuRnZ I didn't even realise that there was a four season, bought this and tried it mid winter. Bloody cold 🤦
They do a 4 season inner tent to give it some more thermal abilities
Yea, and I have been meaning to get one since I bought this tent. Thanks for watching!
you got it bag in the pack, respect ?
This or banshee for two small people ?
This!
Hi Trevor I think hazy on Haze outdoors use the same tent on his coast to coast film check him out he’s a funny chap
Oh right - have heard of that channel - watched a few vids, I will check him out when I get the time. Thanks
Different tent..His was a pyramid shape with the use of one trekking pole..
That is the Lanshan 1.
I think I’d rather carry the extra weight of the banshee and have something solid and robust
These tents are supposed to be quite durable, so I doubt my own ability to set up, but it did seem s a bit of a faff - time will tell.
Rob I have Banshee 200, and yes, after watching this video for 1 extra KIlo, sticking with a tent that goes up in 5 minutes and far more robust is seeming like a good idea.
this tent is afordable tent. so good. I reviewed 1month ago youtube. something so concern point is that the wind can be weak and the trekking pole may fall off in strong winds.
Bit of a basic mistake mate not erecting your tent in the garden prior serious use.
As for guys there is a standard way to wrap so it's easy feed never tangle.
Check out UA-cam videos on it
I know, I know! Hahaha.. Been up here a year now - so you are like the 1 millionth person to tell me so lol. Scroll down for my excuses hahah!
It's a much better plan to practice with a new tent (in your garden or a local park) before using it 'for real'. This is particularly true of this kind of tent, which relies on the skill of the setter-upper to achieve a good weathertight pitch (I learned this lesson the hard way, when the weather was not so forgiving).
Lanshan 2 will be fine if you use it intelligently. It's not some freestanding weatherpod which can be thrown up willy-nilly wherever and however you like, but that's the compromise you have to make for the light weight, generous space and low price.
I love these AliExpress tents, because they are forcing our expensive 'local' brands to look at what extra value they are offering for the money. I realise there are elements of unfair competition involved, but even so I believe the 'Western' brands have had it too easy for too long. Wait until the likes of 3F UL and Naturehike get their hands on come cuben - now that'll be interesting...
Agreed about the colour. I go for a 'quieter' colour so that I can blend in with the hills, not stick out like a sore thumb, whatever the Mountain Rescue Services might prefer. It's not like I'm planning an assault on K2.
I think it looks like a bed sheet with guide ropes lol
Haha! That it does.
.... thought this was going to be useful... I mean it's informative, but to where I live that weather is more late spring or early autumn... Well at least I learnt the tent isn't really a three season tent.
You can get a 4 season inner for it though - so worth looking into. Its a great little tent, and I have had uch better use out of it since in many of my videos. Be sure you sub to see when it get s out again! Thanks for watching!
The tractor driver will probably spot the white one
Funny you should say that - I did once tke it for a stealth camp in a farmers field.... ua-cam.com/video/GeOPpBDAG38/v-deo.html
Hello Trevor, you might want to turn on CC. Your accent is worse than mine. Lol ❤
Haha! I dont have the hours in the day to subtitle my videos, I'm afraid so you're going to have to try and interpret UA-cam's own Closed Captions. Have fun!
You are right Trevor it does take time, happy hiking 😊
I was expecting a werewolf to attack at any moment.
Dartmoor is the hounds if the Baskerville's 😂😂
Check out Paul Carpenter on UA-cam. He has some excellent tips and setups on this tent. Very good instructional and testing videos.
Ok I will thanks
@@SummitOrNothing Nice video. Happy hiking ; )
The outdoor gear review page is way better
Yea thats what they do though. I'm just an idiot out hiking and camping and trying tents along the way 😅
One recommendation for better enjoyment of the Lantern 2 Trev is to send it back mate..Wild camping on Dartmoor may be legal but, let's respect the privilege and the Moors and keep it discreet. Can you imagine a 100 of these things pitched over Dartmoor at any one time???? Ewwww!!! Officials would soon have wild camping banned.
Good vid as ever tho Trev, cheers mate.
ffs get a life .....
Hahah! .... Well, that's one suggestion, I guess, although as one of our viewers pointed out that Mountain rescue actually prefer us to camp in lighter tents. I'm sure that I have just got something arse about face with the setup, as they seem to be a really popular little tent.
This was painful. I understand you didn’t know how to set it up but a quick 15 min video would have got you sorted out.
Yep. I was loading up the car about to leave as the postman delivered this tent... I literally opened it and headed straight out. I'm getting in much better with it these days. I use it in our latest video which goes live tonight. A great little tent.
You need to learn how to pitch this tent properly.
I've just about got the hang of it now hahah ua-cam.com/video/GeOPpBDAG38/v-deo.html
You pitched the tent incorrectly. I highly recommend for you to watch any of the many many videos on UA-cam showing how it should be pitched. The issues were 100% how you pitched it. Why even have this video up?
If you know my channel you know that I have put this tent up since many times. This was delivered as I was just leaving to drive up to the moor and so I swapped tents and took this one. However, its kind of my thing to test tents without searching online instructions, seeing how easy they go up with instructions from the bag. You think this is bad you should watch my one tigress video 🤣
it doesn't exactly blend into the environment.
It was better in the mist lol
I think is not set up properly.
I think youre right, Owen. I'm getting better now though Hahah!
@@SummitOrNothing i want to get one.
I a way is better designed then the dupax.
Looks a bit fiddley...
I always seem to cock it up even now haha!
You get what you pay for. Thanks for information. Definitely problematic.
Yeah, but a lot of people really rate this tent, so I would like to master the art of putting it up so that I can give it a real test!
Tent 1, you 0
to me it looks like a cheep copy of the zpacks. but crap.
I have heard the zpacks banded around a bit - but I think I would probably make that tent look unstable too haha. The Lanshan has got some pretty good reviews so I won't quite give up on it just yet.
To support the channel I watch the adverts. God they are awful.
Haha... Well thanks for putting yourself through such torment to support us. Much appreciated!
Best thing to do with that tent is lob it in a bin on your way home.
Hahaha... you're the second person to make such a suggestion. They seem to be highly recommended usually so I'm sure that I have done so.ething wrong here .
Great tent! Used on JMT, parts of AT & more. No problems
