The news lady kept moving her hands while talking was getting that lion attention. That’s in my opinion is dangerous, because sometimes an ordinary house cat might hit your hand.
As a video-based presenter it's a habit that they all have- talking with their hands- but yes it's something you don't want to do around an animal like a lion. You noticed how she cut it out immediately the first time she did it but sort of had to fight the habit afterward?
Shes just stupid. Why would someome risk his life like that? They are still wild animals. Look at Sigfried and Roy. They trained their lions over years but got attacked by them.
Every time the reporter that walked in she raises her hands and the lion is eyeballing her she doesn't realize her sudden movements could cause a problem. That's why the other lady keeps putting her hand in front of the Lion's face.
Yup, worst part, is the behavior of killing their previous alpha is common, often when the older ones reach 3 plus years or accidentally... we don't have thick hair, skin like they do so a swipe would kill
How to befriend a lion: Step 1: it should not be a lion but a baby cub. Step 2: bond with it all day long, feed it amazing meat and show your love. Step 3: done, your cub now loves you and once it is a lion it still loves you
A good example is Kevin Richardson. He used to have 30 something lions and now he's down to 20 something lions. A pride (Cassusa / Gandalf / Sibindie) are basically wild lions while the rest are captive. George and Yame were rescues from canned hunting. Suja and Bongani - I'm unsure about their origins. Thor's pride (6 lions - Lola / Jubari / Thor / Neige or Snow / and 2 others) - I'm also unsure of their origins. Meg and Amy were rescued from their mother after she rejected them (weak or her milk dried up). He also looks after Hyenas (spotted) and Black Jaguars / Leopards. He's also currently looking after 8 cheetahs (one mother poached and one mother killed by a lion). He also takes them out on enrichment walks, feeds them on lion, hyena, black jaguar, cheetah schedule and moves the lions around between enclosures (a LOT of space).
But its also to keep in mind that they're wild animals and they can turn on you. An example would be that hippo that turned on their caretaker by drowning them in the river.
notice how she is wearing "Rafiki" colors (white, navy blue) this allow you to blend in as "Rafiki" which then allows you to lecture at lions for misbehaving. She is brilliant, took the lion king theory to another level
Lions don't have a strict hierarchy unlike some other animals so it's less of an issue. They're more likely to react badly when other factors are in play such as possessive over food, a mate, an area or item they've claimed or if they get startled. That's not to say one can't decide he wants to be the big man, I'm just saying it's less likely in a lion pride.
Marauder Shields that term is not an insult only brainless fools who want a house cat to behave like a dog find it insulting. It's sad that most people expect any animal that is domesticated to behave like a canine and when it does not they think it's useless but in reality house cats behave very similarly to big cats if you pay close attention. But humans are to stupid to realize that and only appreciate cats and think their "cool" when they are a larger size.
@@Fandar What an incredibly stupid idea. If you locked up people just for being douches, half the population of the world would be in prison - and, incidentally, half of the incarcerated would be women. Your language, however, would seem to suggest that you only consider abusiveness a problem if a man is doing it and would not just automatically lock up a woman for being domineering, abusive or sexist. Can you confirm or deny that this is your position?
@@tezzatibbz2278 Killing another human who attacks is very easy. Not another animal our size or bigger. Also you sound really paranoid but i bet you have never been in a violent situation. I know reformed ex gangsters who are less paranoid and misanthropic.
Honestly this takes a lot of confidence and a dominating personality. As cool as I think Lions are I couldn't see myself raising them knowing how dangerous they are. One bad day and an angry Lion could mean a very painful death.
Nick Steadman I have worked with lions personally face to face with lots of physical contact. They feed off of your energy and body language. You have to never show the slightest bit of fear, and always remember you are the dominant figure and you are In charge. The animal is not stupid, it knows it is much larger then you are and it knows it can hurt you. Respect the animal and it will respect you. Biggest lesson to remember is do not enter their bubble without their permission, you will know when you have their permission. Let them enter your bubble first. Spit on your hand so they can smell and taste your scent. When they lick your spit, your scent is forever in their memory.
well I wonder, is it about having lots of confidence or about having lots of stupidity? Maybe a mixture, there is a fine line. Before anyone bashes me, all animals are unpredictable in nature, even dogs, which humans have been taming for centuries, you can't ever take the wild out of the animal no matter how much you try.
Everybody's wrong about 1:43. The lion wasn't trying to eat reporter's hand. If we consider the distance between the lion and the reporter, if he was wanna to do that, it would be so instant that not only the handler lady, but no one could save her. He was just getting ready to smell her hand.
Lion don't just eat people they don't see us as food, the only way a lion would attack n eat a human is unless the lion his injured, meaning if he had a broken tooth that prevents him r her from hunting so they will try to eat a human cause of the softer flesh.

Nickpay L I don't think that's the reason... The lion wanted to sniff her hand and the owner put her hand in front of his mouth because she don't wanted that the lion is interested in the other woman. Body language is important. So i think she knows that the Lion was really interested and you don't know if he would have bitten her so she was careful and disturb the moment of the two. Like i don't think he wanted to eat her i think he might wanted to make her as his target and to be his price so he isn't bored. That's what i think
Nickpay L she was helping to give him a wash... the lion was licking her hand and then she was combing his mane. that's how they show affection, by cleaning other members of the pride. you can see similar behaviour in domesticated cats. i do it for my girls too.

A lot of people in the comments are saying that one day they could turn on her based on instincts related to pecking orders. Do you think lion keepers don't know this? They understand the risk. Even Kevin Richardson, the world's most known lion expert, has stated he could lose his life or get seriously injured. In fact, Kevin has had several potentially dangerous encounters with his lions. They love what they do and have a passion for them so it's worth the risk for them. Honestly, it's not any less risky for those who are mountain climbers.
but honestly what does such a person who trys to domesticate a machine built by nature purely for killing hope to accomplish? lions are know to wake up and kill their own with/without any warning or reason. This is stupidity..nothing less. at least mountain climbing you are challenging your body, mind and soul. Here this lady just has one hand on fire and the other on fate's dick.
+Trenton N You do understand that there are more lions in the world used as pets/in zoos than in the wild? What this lady is doing is completely disrespecting nature for what seems to be her own benefit. I understand that this is cute and all, but you simply can not "tame" a natural apex predator such as this lion. The fact that she raised them does not matter. Cats in general have an instinctive order to attack without caution, no matter how close you are with it. You ever get scratched by your house cat? Imagine the king of the wild scratching you. It's really just a disaster waiting to happen, and if it does happen I will not blame the lion at all. Mountain Climbing is dangerous, yes, but it can be controlled - it is entirely in your mind to not fail. This is stupidity, nothing more simple than that. Humans do stupid things for love - this lady trying to domesticate lions is a good example.
@Louis Baker This is domestication... what are you talking about...? there is a film crew and an interviewer that is able to approach the Lions without them attacking. This lady tamed them. They did this because they "love animals" haha. Typical.
Notice how while there talking with the lion there, every single time the lion stretches his neck to smell the other woman, she put her hand in front of his mouth because thats how quickly and easily she could get attacked.
Jay Iglesias i thought was the only one. Around the 2nd or 3rd time i even noticed a slight change in her voice for a split second. Meaning that she NEEDED to do that ON TIME .
Yeah! And the reporter kept talking with her hands sticking them right near the Lions face I'm like oh ma had obviously the other lady is making sure they don't harm the reporter but lol stoppp
oh really you know that, you know them or have you had a one on one with one, got drunk together once, hey tell you what, your so sure, go up to one and see if I'm lying
Niks Dustine haha right? I love how the lady corrects the reporter like “That female has a name deary, and it’s Judith.” She respects her animals as intelligent beings, not just stupid, mindless, animals or vermin. The way the lady holds herself and speaks is alpha... not just in the lions cage, but when talking to people.
Lions are my favorite wild animal, they are such beautiful animals. We have to do everything we can to protect all wild animals. I would love to be able to pet and hang out with lions that would be so awesome.
+John Alexander The danger of raising a lion is not that he/she will attack you. Thing is when you play with a cat it may scrath you and give you little bites, that's how they play. If a lion does it however, that scrath or bite will be a lot bigger, maybe big enough to kill you but that wasn't the intention the lion had. It may still attack neighbours and their pets, that's the danger and that's why people usually aren't allowed to have them. Not because of it's a danger to themselves but to everyone around them. It's the same difference between raising a dog and a wolf. The wolf you raise won't attack you if you are a good owner but other people/animals would be a different deal.
Not for me, all I have to do with my two kittycats if they misbehave is point at them and give them a stern look, then they know if they don't quit it they're gonna get it!
I love all these fucking lion experts in the comments. It's like having UA-cam gives people degrees in whatever they see a few videos of on the internet.
Au Leslie, you look so fantastic in what you do with these young lions, it looks unbelievable that you were able to tame them...really unbelievable. Au, you are amazing...
The reporter just disrespect the wild animal, you don't wave you arm in front of a wild animal like that. She just enter the space of the lion, even dogs could bite you for that.
So, I think what actually happened at 1:44 is that the handler didn't want the lion to freak out the reporter, or the reporter's reaction to trigger predator instincts in the lion.
She cannot return these animals into the wild. They've never been. Their home is where they are now. To release them is to abandon and betray them. They will be so stressed out
Think they will train them to be more wild before releasing them into the wild. Maybe test them and see if they're acting properly when a threat is presented to them. But anyways, what could happen? Wild lions challenging them? Well, hopefully they are capable of protecting each other. Just cause they have respect for this woman and being affectionate to her, I don't think it automatically means they would be stupid and try get affectionate with anyone. It's about trust I believe. I hope anyways they will be released into the wild and that will work out for the better good. They deserve freedom these cute lions. 🙂

As a video-based presenter it's a habit that they all have- talking with their hands- but yes it's something you don't want to do around an animal like a lion. You noticed how she cut it out immediately the first time she did it but sort of had to fight the habit afterward?

How to befriend a lion:
Step 1: it should not be a lion but a baby cub.
Step 2: bond with it all day long, feed it amazing meat and show your love.
Step 3: done, your cub now loves you and once it is a lion it still loves you
But should no matter what get released when it’s 3-4 years old, unless you don’t care about being potential lion food.
Not a good idea for people to come inside the enclosure
@@peterdavis4959 who cares
let people do as they please at their own peril

The lions see her as the pride leader but if one lion feels like he is ready to be the dominant leader wouldn't that mean he would take her out?
True that..
Lions don't have a strict hierarchy unlike some other animals so it's less of an issue. They're more likely to react badly when other factors are in play such as possessive over food, a mate, an area or item they've claimed or if they get startled. That's not to say one can't decide he wants to be the big man, I'm just saying it's less likely in a lion pride.
jeez don ruin the moment lol

Marauder Shields that term is not an insult only brainless fools who want a house cat to behave like a dog find it insulting. It's sad that most people expect any animal that is domesticated to behave like a canine and when it does not they think it's useless but in reality house cats behave very similarly to big cats if you pay close attention. But humans are to stupid to realize that and only appreciate cats and think their "cool" when they are a larger size.

Nick Steadman iuiiìi
Nick Steadman can't live your life with fear

Look at her trying to close the lion's mouth so it doesn't eat the other woman.

+Patrick N Duh! Comprehension, please. She said she was not taming them. The object was not to domesticate them.
@Louis Baker
This is domestication... what are you talking about...? there is a film crew and an interviewer that is able to approach the Lions without them attacking. This lady tamed them. They did this because they "love animals" haha. Typical.

She cannot return these animals into the wild. They've never been. Their home is where they are now. To release them is to abandon and betray them. They will be so stressed out
I would fear for those lions if they released these "domicile" lions into a the real jungle.....Everything is a freaking experiment 😪
They will be observed so if anything goes wrong she will probably try to get them back.
