This 70-year old that I am couldn't help but cry when I was hit by that terrible news about Koko's death, such a humanoid and gentle, and playful giant primate, a very dear relative of the human kind. In my opinion, there are proportionally much more humans that are much less kind than those so-called ''wild'' primates. RIP Koko... Mrs Patterson, I wish you to recover from such a loss rapidly while reminding all the great time you had with Koko.
Koko fills me with desperate sorrow. Looking into her eyes reminds me of how awful humans are to other species - majestic sentient beings that feel love, fear and pain just like we do. I'll never understand why we treat them like they're beneath us. We're all souls sharing an earthly experience but in different shapes and sizes.

Koko is an extraordinary creature of God. That she would love Robin Williams as so many of us do is very special. Is it possible to explain to her that he was very ill? The kind of illness isn't important just that he was ill. And then to give her all the love anyone can muster. That she is very sensitive and very loving is not only evident but a tribute to her. There are multiple scenes where Koko follows detailed instructions, and associates strings of words with specific actions;
you cannot get those effects from a creature who doesn't have any idea of the meaning of words.
Some people just think that it is cool and hip to doubt Koko's ability to understand the meaning of words, because they feel that this makes them stick out;
there are always people like that who are like "well ACKSHU4LLY, it did NOT happen" whenever someone amazing happens.
