That's so sweet and important to see the conservation work behind it. It's so crucial to save both rhinos and hippos species. Our crew recently filmed a project that aims to save the northern white rhino, but the biggest challenge is that there are only two females left.
Why do we have to save rinos.... why do we have to save any animal? It's a ledgit question. Nature will simply find something else to fill the niche in a few thousand years that's how evolution works. I've never understood conservation of species nature is constantly changing and fixing itself. Life goes on why do we act like we are better? We are also just animals and in a few thousand years something will replace us. You think the dinosaurs didn't hunt specific species nah they didn't care and lived life why wont you environmentalists let us live life. Let us take the damn horn and enjoy being the dominant life form of this planet. At the end of the day all yall care about is ignoring your predatory instincts because you think your better. You have never eaten something you killed and it shows.
@@rei_cultist like I said why do we have to save it. In a thousand years another animal will evolve to fill the same ecological niche. Nature has never been stable but always recovers. Do you know how many mass extinctions earth has had and every time recovers. Life will go on, quit making us suffer for nothing the earth has always and will always be fine.

hey there I came across your comment and I just had to reach out and say hi. Your perspective really caught my attention and I would love to get to know you better. Would you be interested in chatting sometime? Looking forward to hear back from you!
Herd animals are very unhappy alone. Other herd animals can step in for company. Goats are often used as companions for horses, for example.

God bless ALL of you who care for those precious babies. I'm so jealous. I LOVE ALL animals and hippos and rhinos are u kidding? I can't even imagine getting to see them and care for them every day. God bless you!
I hope that one day hippo and rhino will meet again in the wild, and say hey old friend 👋❤
This ain't no disney movie.
They probalby will fight eachother tho
@@theone1609 there Is no fight when a hippo is involved.
@@Hatemx1 yes it is 😋
@@doctajay376 Which means...?
it would be so cool if the hippos and rhinos met in the wild, recognized each other and had a little reunion~ this was an awesome video, thank you Dodo. These people are doing amazing work!
Someone should write a children's book about this!
@@est9949 You have just enjoyed a very well done "narrated video story" with the "actual animals". A book, embellishing, a few drawings and so on would likely be less appealing.
@@est9949 : it would be a very nice story to read to kids.
Unfortunately when hippos and rhinos meet in the wild the results are… bloody
@@jadonknoy5060 yep, hippos are very territorial and actually one of the most dangerous animals you could come across in the wild. Rhinos are also territorial but you are way less likely to accidentally get to close to a rhino. Hippos on the other hand……
Such a weird, lovely family! I love stories like this. 🤗
So cute! He much have thought moomin was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen in his life. ❤😊
That was done so thoughtfully and empathically from the point of all involved.
Animals bond so easily when they are babies and they do remember their “family”
This was beautifully done..♥️
👌👌❤️💪❤️👌👌👌
It's great to live in South Africa when you see the animals being rescued and helped. Dankie, julle doen wonderlike werk!
1:19 🥺❤️ they look so peaceful and comfy together! 😭 animals are just amazing
That might be the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. Cried all the way through. So beautiful
I like how the sheep was friends with a hippo. Sheep are such friendly animals, they make friends with anyone.
Yes I knew a sheep that used to be a pub pet (until she knocked over the flat screen tv) and ended up living with two Shetland ponies. Very sweet ewe she was
1:35 Oml, he is nibbling on his nub horn so adorably, my heart melted right there :'>
Awesome and beautiful the animals don't discriminate among themselves.Peole can learn from this too.Nice video thx for sharing.
Lmao tons of discrimination in the animal kingdom
Great n of 1 study. You should be a researcher.
@@nickconnorco I was just about to say lol
it all fine to love animals but stop with this bs, a hippo in the wild or just a adult one would instantly attack the rhino and kill the sheep, its not a fairytail
Thats so incredible because both rhinos and hippos dont do well as orphans and putting them together was genius because both need the social element they would have got from their mums. You are angels at this sanctuary!
I love how you took care of the hippos and released them back into the wild. I wish more people would follow suit. Thank you for your work. ❤
That was really sweet how they bonded thank you for sharing
Beautiful sanctuary/rescue!!~ :) So sensitive and respectful to the animals' relationships, and a slow integration back into the wild. Wonderful place!
those zoologists are the best!! so much effort sooo much works...respect!
THE RHINO WALKING DOWN THE STAIRS OMG SO CUTE. It was so careful.
Wow, that was the most wholesome thing I've ever seen in my life
"Okay... So we got a hippo that thinks it's a rhino. We should get another hippo. Wait, this hippo thinks it's a sheep?"
The plot thickens!
Nothing just two buddies with existencial crisis are meeting because, why not ?
The sad part is that they didn't mention what happened to the sheep.

Its so nice to see the sanctuary provide wonderful care but still respect the fact that these are large wild animals that need to get back into nature, and are handled with care once they are large/mature enough to become dangerous. ❤
OMG seeing a baby hippo and a baby rhino playing together is amazing to watch. Charlie is so gorgeous, I just LOVE his tiny little ears and Moomin and her sheep bestie, ugh I have just exploded with cuteness overload! Great content, thanks so much!
I hope poor sheepie wasn't heartbroken. ❤️

Babies are so cute no matter what
Curious what happened to the sheep that was bonded? Hopefully met some other sheep.
Right! I was wondering the same thing. Poor little sheep.
I have the same question too. What about the sheep?
Mutton
they probably sent him to bond with another orphaned wild animal in need of companionship
Met some lonely sheep herder.
Absolutely fabulous rescue story thankyou big hugs to all the hippos n rhinos 🦏🦛🌈💟

It's *"who," not "whom" in this case.
Moomin? Are you serious? What a perfect name !! 😍💓
I couldn't believe either 😅 just fabulous Moomin!
@Kayla Peacechild If lucky, the hippo can also start a Rapping career and be called "Metro Moomin"
That’s just a big old bowl of cuteness with a side of precious. 💕

Hello Anthony hope all is well with your family you sound very interesting may God bless you all in Jesus name amen...
How would you save it then ? If there are two females, what would you do ? Just curious
@@michaelwalker7860 I get your point and kinda agree with you. But what the f**k do you "suffer" from that you get so upset over people wanting to save animals? 🤣 Your comment is an embarrassing one pal 🤣
@@Frecklefart-90 well humans are starving in Africa while money goes to protecting a giant pig with a horn in the same country... I would say people suffer yes. Humanity should be considered with humanity surely if you saw my previous point you will also see my current, we are wasting money protecting something while people starve.

So glad for people who so competently and caringly do this work

It's heart breaking that any of them became orphans ,but at least they are safe and have beautiful friendships.

A baby hippo getting SUNBURNED?! Naming a hippo MOOMIN?! I'M DYING IT'S SO CUTE
These stories always put a huge smile on my face. I works at an animal park about 45 years ago for one winter. I got to interact with them on a level that the paying public never could. I
Loved that job.
True, but it's absurd that they advertise cans filled with dead chickens on this channel.
I am so thankful for The Dodo. As well I am so thankful to see that there are people all around this world which care. Saving the world, one step at a time. And that also helps me stay saved.

Omgsh, they named them Moomin!?
As in the series Moomin!??
That's a wonderful reference!
It's very heart warming when you see that humans look after these beautiful animals when they
need help.
Hands down my FAVORITE animal. Of course, don't like the guy but was envious of Escabar having his own hippos!
