      It is simple:
      1. filling/bread proportion.
      Sandwich: usually 1/2
      Buterbrod: usually 1/1
You eat less bread and more meat. It is good!
      2. Simplicity
Sandwich: you take bread, evenly put filling, so it will not drop, then put another bread on top.
Buterbrod: put something on bread. Done!

Boris: I am currently studying russian (though I am still learning) and as a joke someone sent me one of your videos. You have by far done the most to help me read Cyrillic as well as teaching nice CHEAP recipes. (They are more expensive here in America, but still worthwhile) I cannot count the number of times someone tells me "The fruit is going bad" and I respond with Компот, Дебил! Since watching your videos. Also it's so much cheaper to MAKE jam than buy it, and easier than expected. (forgive my weak russian here, this is my knowledge as well as google helping fill in my vocabulary)
Дебил, Я спрашиваю, зацчем америцан компаны стоимость так много
    Спасибо!

Definitely brush up on your russian. I can decypher everything except that one "company" word. Also, typos in the "Зачем" аnd "американ" words. But for a beginner, it's really good! Keep going!

Boris, I just made this for my family and it was super popular! I used bacon instead of herring since that's what I had and it was amazing.
For anyone skeptical about this recipe, it's basically like a potato salad with extra crispness because of the carrot and beet. Really good. I put chopped celery leaf on top instead of parsley and it was so fresh. You will want seconds and thirds.
