ROB is just a phenomenal singer ..even at his age after years of screaming .. he can still sing phenomenally and hit those notes flawlessly...ROB it's one of the greatest
My #1 band for over 40 yrs. They have something most bands don’t. Rob Halford. His voice is a instrument that he is a master of. I’m glad Judas Priest is METAL. Honestly with Rob they could’ve performed anything. Priest Rules.
You must react to Judas Priest - Victim of Changes (Live At The Seminole). Awesome song, awesome performance and one of the best lead guitar solos you will EVER see.
This song is an acoustic version of a cover they did from the original song, sung and/or written by Joan Baez. Their cover and the original is really fun.
My favorite band. I saw them sing this version during their Angel of Retribution tour. Glenn signed my SFV album after the show. I saw the jacket Rob is wearing in the RocknRoll HofFame a few years ago.
Rob said that he had conversed with Joan about this cover and she said she didn't much care for it, so I think that inspired him and the band to always perform this song a bit differently live and keep experimenting with it.
You can‘t have more Bob Dylan in a song without saying his name: Judas Priest is named after Dylan‘s song “The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest”, the song Diamonds and Rust is written by Joan Baez about Bob Dylan when their relationship broke up.
Any and all of these Judas Priest songs are awesome: Victim Of Changes, Dreamer Deceiver/Deceiver, Tyrant, Sinner, Evening Star, Hell Bent For Leather, Running Wild, Better By You Better Than Me, Stained Class, Invader, Saints In Hell, Savage, Beyond The Realms Of Death, Breaking The Law, Metal Gods, Grinder, You Don't Have To Be Old To Be Wise, The Rage, Steeler, Electric Eye, Screaming For Vengeance, The Sentinel
Check out the studio version of this of Sin After Sin. You need to hear this man's voice in his prime! Also recommend Sinner, Better by You Better Than Me, Starbreaker, The Green Manalishi, Victim of Changes, You've Got Another Thing Comin', Some Heads are Gonna Roll, Deser Plains, Beyond the Realms of Death, Judas Rising, Blood Red Skies. Night Crawler, Dreamer Deceiver, Before the Dawn, Metal Gods....this band is just freakin awesome!
their albums from the late 70's really catapulted the metal genre ahead, i think. They are a really unique and masterful mix of many genres including even hip-hop and funk, which makes it timeless.
That was just Rob Halford, the Metal God, passng by with his band Judas Priest. This number is a cover of an old folksong by Joan Baez. Judas Priest recorded it on their 1977-album Sin After Sin.
If you want to listen to another great Judas Priest song that is the complete opposite of "relaxing" :D then you should listen to the studio version of "Painkiller" (there are not so many good live ones, especially because in many of those Rob Halford is already over 60 years old). That is their heaviest song, with Rob Halford singing totally different. Otherwise I would recommend the following ones: - Prisoner of your eyes - The Rage - Delivering the Goods - Better by you, tbetter then me - Here come the tears - Victim of Changes - Island of Domination - Run of the mill
Rob halford vocals are best on 1979 diamonds n rust. Long before the 90s version on acoustic.. Halfold was much younger in his prime during late 70s early 80s. Not only the most powerful metal vocal of all, but beauty, melody. The Slow middle section on victim of changes rob halford builds up with the music and screams F# note as the band plays D5 to E5 power chords making E minor add 9. The add 9 comes from halfords peircing scream F#.
Omg, what am I doing. Pressing like-button even before the song is on? I know this is going to be good! Some suggestions for Judas Priest songs: Blood Red Skies, Painkiller, Hard as Iron.
If you liked that then try Beyond the Realms of death. Skip Painkiller there’s a million reactions to that already. If you want to react to a fast one do the Sentinel which IMHO is their best song.
Sinner from Unleashed in the East next, they are amazing and have been since 1974. For old school Heavy Metal, the come right after Black Sabbath as best ever for me. Enjoy! 🎸
I AM your biggest fan! Hope my recommendation pushes you over 50K! This is a Classic metal band covering a 60's folk singer. They do a electric version too. That was on the album. I only send good songs for reaction.(maybe not the most popular) If you want popular Judas Priest(metal) do Painkiller THANK YOU. -YourBiggestFan
A little background. The song is by Joan Biaz it is about her and Bod Dylan. How the after relationship is sometimes.... Her performance of the song is great too. Diamonds being the bright part rust being the waste afterward. Many of us can relate when we see someone we had a relationship with.
@@polly2178 I like to think so. I am glad you enjoyed this. I try to recommend songs to react to that do not get as much attention. Great song, great reaction. I would suggest Blood Red Skies, It's more upbeat than this song but not as major as Pain Killer would be. You should ease into that reaction. That's a huge dramatic change. I think you'll love Rob's vocal versatility in that song. He can go extremely high range, but the lyrics really draws you in on this particular song.
Written and performed by Joan Baez on the album Diamonds and Rust. Video version may shed light on the subject. It would be nice to see your reaction. Thanks
For context with the Baez version - there's an entire verse dropped from the sing here, which does take away from the overall context lyrically (and the story). The "diamonds & rust" line is not repeated either. This version is a great example of arranging a song as an art itself. Listen to Baez's version then come back & listen to this again & you'll see what I mean about "the art of arranging a song".
@@hoondogg66Oops!, LOL actually, it's 2 prong crown.....I'm all messed up....all I know is that I love that song....even if I don't know the words....🤪🤪🤪
Your reaction seems like you don't know Judas Priest, even though this band is from England, just like you.. Besides that, you mention the name Pink Floyd, this is a bit strange, because the types of Judas Priest and Pink Floyd music are different. Judas Priest is Heavy Metal, while Pink Floyd is Progressive Rock. 'Diamond And Rust' is originally a country song and the first to perform it was Joan Baez.. Btw, try to react, another Judas Priest song, a ballad and emotional song, ''Beyond The Realms Of Death'' in this link ua-cam.com/video/zhjuFERt1tY/v-deo.html
i've come to realize that most people born in the 90's and later don't know this music like we do. hard to believe. Like what have they been listening to their whole lives. lol
She’s talking about how JP has some slow melodic tones at times. With a deep and rich sound. This can be compared to pink floyd for sure. But when priest gets into their heavier stuff it’s no longer even remotely close. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Very much hair metal
It's a Joan Baez cover. Originally a folk song. JP took it and rocked it out, but then started playing it low-key like this, it was better the original way they played it...
You stopped it after Rob sings 3 words and you say, "so far, Im enjoying it". Really, it only took 3 words? Thats called 'short attention span theater'. 😅
The writer Joan Biaz wrote this about her relationship after the relationship with Bob Dylan. It's about the bittersweet memories the bright diamonds and the sad rust from the past.

Pausing during the middle of a verse Rob Halford is singing is like pausing during a guitar solo. That's something you just don't do. It's a cardinal metal sin. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you didn't know this, so we'll forgive you this time. Go now, and sin no more.
