The blond guitarist is Richie Faulkner. He joined Judas Priest in 2011 replacing founding Priest guitarist K.K. Downing... Faulkner is the youngest member of Judas Priest at age 44. Current touring guitarist (and producer) Andy Sneap is 54... Rob Halford (vocals) and Ian Hill (bass) are both age 72... Scott Travis (drums) is 62... Glenn Tipton (guitar) who retired from touring in 2018 is 76. Judas Priest are currently touring Europe... playing festivals between June/ July 2024 (Sorry, no UK shows) 'Diamonds and rust' was a folk song by Joan Baez... Judas Priest made a heavy metal version of the song in 1977 on their 3rd album 'Sin after sin' ( A live version was released on the 1979 live album 'Unleashed in the East') as well as the concert video "Live vengeance '82". When Tim 'Ripper' Owens (vocals) replaced Rob Halford in 1997, Judas Priest started performing an acoustic version of 'Diamonds and rust' (included in 2 live CD's - "Live meltdown '98" and "Live in London" in 2002) Rob Halford reunited w/ Judas Priest and performed the acoustic version as well... This clip was recorded on the band's 2011 'Epitaph' tour after Richie Faulkner (guitar) joined the band and is still actively recording & touring w/ them.
Ian Hill is definitely a metal bassist you should pay attention to. He's been in that exact spot for 50 years and has held down the bottom end like a champ with his tasteful playing.
You can‘t have more Bob Dylan in a song without saying his name: Judas Priest is named after Dylan‘s song “The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest”, the song Diamonds and Rust is written by Joan Baez about Bob Dylan when their relationship broke up.
I saw them in March of this year headlining a show that also featured Saxon and Uriah Heep. All 3 bands were amazing and Halford has still got that voice. His power hasn't diminished one iota.
What a great performance Defiantly need to see them live. They are a must to see. The studio version is also worth checking out. Need to checkout the song Prophecy from this Epitaph concert.
Yeah Judas Priest have so many good bass guitar lines! Indeed there's some songs that the bass is the main star of the song like "The Rage", "Revolution", "Rocka Rolla" and "Victim of Changes".
I saw them about a month ago - and it was EPIC! They were my first concert in 1981. You should check out a band called Jelusick - "Reign of Vultures" is a good start, but anything from them is great
You took the words right out of my mouth. That is an awesome song and performance. More definitely needs to check that out instead of Pain Killer which is also awesome, but over done.
My favourite Judas Priest song is the Green Manalishi. It was the last song they played when inducted to the Rock n Roll hall of fame that brought the house down. Breaking the Law always makes me laugh and grin for some reason. I play it when my nephews are being little sh*ts and they love it. Its been used in a lot of comedy movies too.
If you like the guitarist, Richie Faulkner, you must react to "Judas Priest - You've Got Another Thing Coming (from Epitaph)", with an epic guitar solo. In addition, he suffered an aortic aneurysm in a live show two years ago. Inexplicably, and thank goodness, he survived.
Richie Faulkner is the guy you're looking for and if you're ondering if they still tour... yeah. They released new album in march of this year, so they are on tour right now :)) If I may, I recommend to check Panic Attack, Invincible Shield, Serpent and the King or Gates of Hell from that album and No Surrender from the previous one called Firepower released in 2018. ENJOY (I know you will).
Please check out the version from their live album Unleashed In The East. There's no live footage of that performance as far as I know, so check it out on your own time rather than in a reaction...watching a photo of an album cover would be a bit boring haha! Cheers!
Cool review ))) This is a cool version but I prefer the 79 version from their Unleashed In The East live version... Another recommend BEYOND THE REALMS OF DEATH . That song was my go to song if I was having a bad day)))). It was their Stained Class album in 1977 ...I highly suggest that one)))As a bonus it has 2 guitar solos)))
When you go to a Judas Priest concert, you know the older songs are expected to have audience participation. They are still touring. Glenn Tipton, the lead guitarist, has Parkinson's disease, and they had to hire another guitarist to take his place. Judas Priest finds ways for him to be included.
besides rob's awesome vocals and the killer guitar work from faulkner and glen tipton, that drummer hits that bell every 4 seconds while twirling the other drumstick, i saw them perform this live twice he would stickflip catch it and hit that bell that 78 concert i layred in bed till 3 am ears still ringing and the bass pounding on my chest, judas fuqin priest, checkout beyond the realms of death and the green manalishi with the two pronged crown from this epitaph concert this is a love song from joan baez to bob dylan, they have a lovechild together, you have a 70's soul millie
Saw them in March at Wembley for the 3rd time they were awesome. Metal Gods 🤟I think the guitarist you mention is Richie Faulkner who replaced KK Downing, the other is Glen Tipton.
Once I loved Judas Priest. Manowar. Def Leppard. You name it. Then my life changed. Now I suggest one of my current favourites. Theocracy. And perhaps their song Hide in the Fairytale. Do you dare? 😎
Priest tickets are not as expensive as you might think. I think the tour they did over here in May tickets started around £55. There were more expensive seats, but who pays for seats to a metal gig unless you have some kind of physical disability.
It's a cover actually from David Bowie. ua-cam.com/video/dKVhodA_q-g/v-deo.html We don't full well understand the role played by Bowie in influencing the music scene years way before some group became famous by inspiring them sounds and look. Bowie live concert in Santa Monica; all the RAMONES guitar riffs are present.
not the best period of Judas Priest , listen to them in the 70s , another level of music and singing..'dreamer deceiver' .ua-cam.com/video/Wvlq1F-X6Ko/v-deo.html....... the vibe of the 70s...disappear with a lot of groups in the 80, 90s and after............nothing better than the 70s sound for me ....

I've been listening to Priest for 40yrs and this version is new to me. Wow!!!!!!!!!
This is my favorite version by Judas Priest.

One of my favorite heavy metal bands
They are fantastic live. Yes go see them you won't be disappointed

Epic vocal range in that version by the Metal God! Rob is crazy special.
What a great performance
Defiantly need to see them live. They are a must to see.
The studio version is also worth checking out.
Need to checkout the song Prophecy from this Epitaph concert.
I saw them in concert last month. 2 and half hours of face pumching metal
i will see them in 3 weeks in Amsterdam
Alice Cooper - Ballad of Dwight Fry

and Love Bites of course 😅
Seen them twice, last time in 2015, got to meet rob halford before gig.
Yes, Judas Priest was around here this month. It was may 3rd. They have a new CD out too. I didn't go as I had other things
going on.
I saw them about a month ago - and it was EPIC!

I saw Judas Priest last month and they still put on a great show!
Check up next ' Blood Red Skies ' by Judas Priest as a Live Version
You took the words right out of my mouth. That is an awesome song and performance. More definitely needs to check that out instead of Pain Killer which is also awesome, but over done.

There were a lot of popular bands in the 80s rock music industry!✨ I'm from tokyo japan.
Never speak over The Metal God!!!
she speaks over everyone.
This shows off their unique creativity ! Joan Baez is a folk singer. Love this xx

They perform right now in US 100$ is a averidge ticket
The original version are from Joan Baez.
cool version. never heard before.
This was originally sung by Joan Baez and is about her relationship with Bob Dylan
They still tour
If you want a softer song with Priest you should react to the song angel.
Priest tickets are not as expensive as you might think. I think the tour they did over here in May tickets started around £55. There were more expensive seats, but who pays for seats to a metal gig unless you have some kind of physical disability.
Try Blood Red Skies from the same show. I was there in the front row, it was epic!!
The original verson fram 1983 concert in USA is the best ...
Hello there hey there hey Hello hi
Richie Faulkner is the guitarist. for the friend
👍🏻
Little advice.....make sure the music is playing louder than your voice. The music is really why people watch reaction videos
Yeah, her dampening the volume right during the sped up part was cruel 😂

i never appreciated them until I realized pop music sucked.

It was written and composed by Joan Baez, it's not from David Bowie.

Other heavy metal bands? How about iron maiden, black Sabbath, Metallica for starters...

No shade to throw at JP, but I have to admit I prefer S.O.D's extended version of Diamonds & Rust.
