Judge thanked me for my service and then, without even bothering to take a breath began to tell me that my service was the reason why I could not have custody of my son and that my visits with him had to be supervised. I have no criminal record and she cheated, laid hands on me and stole money. Fantastic.

Nah. Child support helps fund the state. It’s literally extortion. The father is more likely to pay because men are likely to work therefore they can get money. Even if they got to garnish it. It’s more for the state than the child. Especially states with private prisons. It’s a easy way to fill the numbers and make quota.

    State of Texas:
Your BAH counts as part of your income. This court recognizes that the child in question is now 15, and you had no knowledge of his presence prior to discovery and this hearing. Therefore, we are assigning the MAXIMUM of child support arears, which for the State of Texas is 3 years. Furthermore, as this is your rightful first born child, he is entitled to the larger sum of the child support. The state assigns 33% of net pay.
My total child support was $1,600 a month. I was an E-5. I was married for 10 years before this hearing to a woman that I had three kids with. When I asked the judge who was going to give me 15 years of my sons life back, he said without a beat, "That is not a matter for this court to decide."

I have been paying attention to MRA's, MHRA's, Anti-Feminist for close to 10 years now and MGTOW content for maybe 5 years now. They have said the same thing in your last sentence. "Women: They want the authority of a man, the privilege of a woman, and the accountability of a child." It showed it's face starting with first wave feminism when they got all the same rights as a man but with none of the responsibilities. It supersized itself when second wave feminism hit the scene in the late 60's going into the 70's. They wanted to divorce themselves in all ways from men and marry the government. They used to have to negotiate with men and they didn't like that. With government they get more of what they want and not have to give much back in return. The government covers its losses by extracting it from men. The government grows ever more larger and more powerful.

They tried to have me pay child support to 2 different states for the same 2 kids. Told the judge "but your honor, how or why should I pay 2 different states when my kids only live in one state, and the order is for the state they live in not both where they live and where I live. And as a transitioning vet I can't afford $1200 a month times 2. The Judge promised to hold me in contempt. Even the lawyer for the child support agency tried to object and was promised the same. I was a reservist on the tail end of title 10 orders with no civilian employment to fall back on when my divorce was finalized. Judge saw my E6 pay with BAH and BAS and set child support at $1300/mo. I went broke a few months after I came off of orders and was remanded to jail until my family could come up with the $4k I owed in arrears. I got a job that paid $17/hr after that, but was lucky to take home $250/week after being garnished. It took 18 months after filling a motion to modify before I finally got a modification hearing that dropped it down to a more reasonable $600/mo.

I couldn’t keep up with my child support payments when I got out after 11 years. My support amount was $900 a month. So it went into arrears. When I tried to ask for a reduction they told me no because I had arrears and then made me pay $1200 to make up for the arrears. I lost my car my apartment had to move back in with my mom and had to leave school just to make up for that. That was like eight years ago. Still paying the arrears off. The child support system is broken. Having done my 19-years under the thumb of 60% pre-tax deduction, and hearing judges always say "you can get a 2nd job" or "find full time work" when the market was tight, is a relief. Having an ex attempting to push me through the criminal system, and suffering major anxiety and PTSD due to over a dozen false charges and several arrests, I feel for any Veterans who are going through this exact labeling. The system needs a massive correction and overhaul. I believe Florida collects close to a billion a year, with a four+ day delay between receipt and payment. This equals a lot of interest generated for "the department of revenue ". Stay strong, it eventually ends.

I just started school and the state was ok with me paying at least $200 a month since I was unemployed. The judge had other plans. There was no custody order in place and I would see my children on a daily basis. Instead of requiring my ex to split the responsibility, I was required by the judge to pay $1000 a month based on 90/10. Hence, "That's honorable and all, but someone has to pay for these kids", except my ex of course.
In an astonishing update, she never got a job. I did. I got on my feet, got remarried and bought a house. 2 years later she lost full custody due to her instability. The mother decides to move a thousand miles away so of course the courts have to get involved. You go in naive thinking hey just tell me what I need to do so I can have time with my daughter. It felt like everyone was on a certain team and it wasn't my team. Cool cool cool do it with it and do what you have to do you finally pay all that money you get the paperwork you get The daughter every summer according to the agreement signed off by the judge. If the mother violates the agreement I have to pay more money go back to court and they just tell her next time make sure the child sees his father for the summer according to the agreement. She broke that agreement about six times and when you separate a child, especially when they're young, The child may not feel comfortable with the parent that they do not see. It just grew and it wasn't exactly like I can just drive down the street or drive 100 mi to go see her. I was in DC, California, St Louis and I had to depend on the mother to either meet me halfway driving or put her on a flight and I would pay for the flight. She just really didn't want to do it but she got a child support. The main thing is a child is grown she has never been hungry homeless or needed anything and she didn't get on that pole. Not against anyone on the pole BTW. I did my job and I'm satisfied. If she needs something in the future I'm here but if not That's how life works. I also feel like the VA only does so much and only have limited power on things like child-support court cases. But don’t take my perspective and opinion very seriously because I am not a veteran and not a judge so I don’t have the credibility needed here.

    • @cruss4612
      @cruss4612 2 роки тому +3

Nah, you kinda got it right.
      Except...
The VA has power. They just refuse to use it for their stated mission, and hardly lift a finger unless it very clearly will get people pissed off. Invisible wounds do not get addressed. I have sleep apnea, ptsd, hellafied anxiety, and developed bi polar depression. Civilian doctors all have signed affidavits that military service was directly to blame. I have two wrecked knees that took 10 years of rehab to fix, because surgery at my age is absurd. I have degenerated discs in my back to the point it's bone on bone.
But I got my arms and legs, and you can't see my disability from a glance, so they told me to fuck right off. I gave them a 3 inch thick medical record from my service and they said there was no documentation of mental illness, physical ailments, or hearing loss. That's all my medical records are. Knee problems, severe concussions, back problems, visits to DivPsych and my baseline hearing test next to my sep hearing test showing about 40% loss in left across all frequencies, 60% loss in my right. Oh, and persistent tinnitus. Yep, picture of health when a 23 yo can't walk up stairs or a ramp because his knees buckle or remember half his life, dissociate in a hospital or hearing helicopters, 3 day long panic attacks, brushes with psychogenic death, heart arrhythmia, can't hear conversational tone, back spasms, can't sit or stand too long consecutively because of pain...
I'm a 60 year old coal miner in a 35 year old body. I'm almost bald despite no family history, and what little hair I have left is grey.
They do everything they can to ignore or impede veterans because we are a living reminder of the profit wars they waged for 20 years. Afghanistan was mission complete in like 6 months, and only needed stability long enough to gather themselves, but we purposely withheld support to keep them dependent on our security. That's why it shit t the need in 1 day when we pulled out. Iraq was the exact same story. We DID find wmds there, but they were leftovers from round 1 and so the media kept that part quiet and screamed about the no manufacturing wmds part. People I know have nerve damage from the sarin exposure. Imagine proving that to the VA, which is seemingly staffed exclusively by people who hate veterans. But yeah, Iraq was pretty much just an excuse to up spending on defense so they had a reason to buy desperately needed equipment upgrades and new equipment. I fixed radios that were used in Europe to defeat Hitler. Verifiably used in WW2.
The Halliburton and blackwater contracts were just lining pockets for politician friends. It was 100% about money, not oil.
Vets remind the system and the people how badly the system fucked everyone, so they fuck us to keep us quiet.

By the sound of everything they want you to pay child support so they get paid. It's a lose lose situation because of their greed. They don't care about any of the people they just want to take money out of their paychecks for the rest of their lives.

I always find it funny that she who has the children doesnt need a job, but he who had his kids taken away NEEDS a job to pay for those kids. At this point why even give the kids to her?

"A vet with anxiety and PTSD is clearly a menace and unfit to have a family and parenting.
If on top of that refuses to get a job and pay his children's suport he is a leech and should be trated as such.
I bet he got a divorce because he abused his family anyway."
    The Judge, probably.

When I went for custody. They used ptsd against me because i was a veteran, even though i was never officially diagnosed or had an episode that had affect my kids in 14 years.
