I grew up near a huge base and its almost funny how big that stereotype is. There are tons of gyms, micro breweries, clothing companies, and bars near here all with corny military themed names all started by vets. All their products are "military grade" of course, how they say that with a straight face after bitching for years about MREs and standard issue boots I have no idea.

(Black rifle coffee company/ 9 line t shirt company) some of them make it so they think everyone can make it. They start off by charging 50 dollars for a t shirt that has no really big significant to it. Now the special operations person claims he saw some shit but was never in the shit. Just stories passed down and he makes them his stories also because nobody he deployed with is usually around when he’s telling said stories.

1:20 reminds me of something kind of funny. A few months ago my grandpa was in a physical rehab facility/convalescent center that was part of a retirement home complex (that's not the funny part but hes doing better now) but it services a wide range of people. While we were visiting my grandpa every day my Vietnam vet dad and I struck up a friendship with one of my grandpas "neighbors", an older asian man. After my grandpa and old asian man both got out of the rehab facility I ended up running into old asian man at my gym since he started going there as part of his rehab and I found out he was also a Vietnam vet, he had just served with the Vietnamese. Kind of funny how 45+ years after the fact 2 men from opposite side of the globe serving in 2 different armies end up eating together in a retirement home cafeteria.

Roughly five years before his death he had dementia which flared his PTSD. Can't imagine the only thing you remember is fighting in the war, repeatedly.
