This happened to my unit during OIF2. The CDR made the mistake of holding a sensing session.. I pretty much went in on him dogging him out for never leaving the FOB; telling him I didn't respect him because of all the stupid shit things he'd said and done including:
1.) Taking his 9m ONLY on a convoy, leaving his M16 in his wall locker - When asked he said "well I'm a better shot with my 9m".
2.) Proclaiming he'd mastered being a commander and soldiers don't surprise him at all
3.) Sending elements of our unit to FOBs in the middle of an attack for a public relations mission over and over again
4.) Denying leave and 4 day passes to some soldiers, while giving a certain female extra treatment (I filed an EO complaint about that one later one)
5.) Threatening soldiers with demotion and being chaptered for bullshit
Suffice it to say... he didn't really like me after that...

@@AdolfSchicklegruber thanks! In this case he’s was a warrant as my field our commanders are Warrants and only Commissioned were in DC/NY/Heidelberg. After our next deployment he mad CW4 then for sent to our Schoolhouse to work on a project that pretty much created so he’d meet retirement and not endanger anyone else. It’s been 15 years and the whole unit still hates his guts.

For real, when I came back from our first deployment we had the sensing session and let me tell you. Our 1sgt, was doin some wild shit down range, drugs, sleeping with soldiers, abusing his rank etc. So when he walked out and we were left alone and they started asking us questions about anything that went down, shit was a witch hunt. Freaking NCO up front taking notes jaw was dropped the entire time. I saw my 1sgt that morning for PT, I never saw him again lol. By the time we got back to our company his office was packed and he was gone. No one really knows where he went.
I got two guesses and they both rhyme with "Fucking Jail."

I will never forget the morning we did "Victory Tower" .The Cadre got a first aid dummy and dressed it in BDU's and carried it to the top of the tower(about 100' up) and as we were marching in company formation to the tower although we were still about 1/4 mile away, The Drill Sargents and the dummy were at thw top of Victory Tower and they were screaming at the dummy"You are going to go Private"and then they threw him(first aid dummy dressed in BDU's )from the top. And from our view it looked just like they had tossed a real Private from the top!!

Our last sensing session was the exact opposite. It was lower enlisted giving legitimate concerns, and the command team telling them their concerns were invalid and they had "no idea what's going on in the background." Now I wasn't there as an NCO, but every soldier I talked to said the same thing.

Yusha Thomas is hilarious, funniest military vids on the interwebs. When I joined 40 years ago the old hard ass Viet Nam vets ran the Army. Not saying it was better, harder, tougher ...just different. No Sensing Sessions, no PC but a hell of a lot of good order and discipline. The Army I joined and the Army I retired from 28 years later were 2 different worlds. When the Army changes and you can't it's time to go. Much LOVE to ALL my brother and sister vets!
