One stop shop for sure! Edit and cut unnecessary lag times without annoying background music too?! The promised land of UA-cam tutorial material *tears up*
omfg I literally downloaded procreate like 20 minutes ago just so I could start learning to draw my own tattoos and after watching a video on the basics, this was the next suggestion! The universe must be telling me this was a good move lol
I’ve been using procreate for over a year professionally and I just learned from this video that when you select you can hold the select to zoom out and not zoom the image. I had to watch the rest to see if I had somehow not learned something else as obvious as that. Amazing video, this will be a great workflow boost.
I only downloaded Procreate today; so I'm a complete beginner. I cannot thank you enough for a superb introduction. Everything about it is great - what you demonstrate, how you do it - all great. Thank you very much!
My prayers have been answered I was HOPING you’d do another procreate tutorial since your last procreate video. THANK YOU TYLER. You’re so helpful and informative with the way you break things down in layman terms 🤟🏼
Yess! Glad to see prayers answered ! No problem. Thanks for the support.. And I think that’s the first time I’ve ever seen someone spell out “layman terms” and not just say it.. so thank you for that first experience lol
Honored to be your first. I would love to see your shading process in procreate. What brushes you use. More specifically what you use to achieve “grey wash” shading to translate into your actual tattoo.
Oh wow. I really wish I'd found your vid last year. it would've saved me from so many headaches. This really is the best and most comprehensive guide to Procreate that I’ve ever seen! Thank you so much!
A tip for the same drawing Lets say your drawing a face, Add a new layer, draw your eye. Duplicate the layer, use the curser selection tool, flip the eye and you can move it the side
Three days in and this is by far THE most informative and straightforward video yet. Tapping the pencil twice for eraser or pencil...Genius! Thank you for making my life that bit easier.
@@teiaboynton5295 it is the Apple Pencil, and I like the 12.9 iPad Pro, but that’s just bc im designing tattoos all the time. You could use the smaller ones and it work great!
Depending on your settings you have a max limit of layers, just learned that grouping layers still counts toward max limit of layers. ie if your max layers are 16 and you group 15 on one layer with 1 layer ungrouped, it will not allow you to add a 17th. Even if you group them all onto one, still cannot add 17th.
I merge them once I know I no longer need them on a seperate layer. A good tip is to start at a lower resolution, 300+ dpi still, when you are ready to finish you can merge layers as necessary and resize the canvas (resample canvas) and make the resolution higher as you need less and less layers, finishing on the highest resolution for crispier detail work.
Definitely helped clear up some of the simpler things that I just did not understand.. just got procreate last night for tattoo design after "lightly" using sketchbook for years. Held off using apple as long as possible, but ut was time to treat myself with the latest and greatest so, now I've got a whole world of design software to learn. Thanks for this! Looking forward to "hopefully" making more and better art..
Thanks for this video. I have been making art on computers since the 80’s but I am new to owning an Apple Pencil with an iPad Pro and these streamlined interfaces on these touch-centric apps were giving me some trouble, I could not FIND most of the functionality that I was used to! 😀 This one video just unlocked a lot of power in Procreate that may have taken me weeks (or longer) to uncover. I really appreciate it.
Wow you’re awesome!! ✨✨✨Your selection of tips are just the right ones 👌🏻 I’ve also seen a lot of videos and You’re the best! ♥️ do more procreate please!
If only all tutorials were as awesome as yours! I watched it on my computer, pausing all along the way, to watch you and then try those things on my iPad. Perfect!!!!! Thank you.
Been struggling to learn on my own watched several videos but nothing is even close to what u just explained appreciate it made my life hell of allot easier
Great video!!! I’ve been tattooing for over 30 years & I am always pushing myself to learn more & new things...I’m seriously glad I found your UA-cam channel & I have learned something from everyone one of them!!!
After all these years of not knowing why my line work was so wobbly, all I had to do was turn up the streamlining lmaoooooo I’m so upset but thank you so much
Really great tutorial. The first one I’ve watched that actually went enough beyond “Open procreate” but not get lost in the weeds at an appropriate level.
Great tutorial. One old comic book artist tip I'd give is to do your sketches in a light blue (non-photo blue) color. That way when you're doing your final layer you don't have to turn your sketch layers on and off as much as your final blacks are easily discernible from your sketch.
I like this tutorial because he kept it short and to the point instead of rambling on about one feature as if he was doing a podcast making me lose interest ... He made important points , showed how it was done and moved on ... That is how a tutorial should be ... Excellent work 👏🏻❤
Very nice tips, especially the right hand interface option. I am left handed so switched this option off, but effectively end up messing with the size/opacity while drawing. So changed it and will have a go in this setting
Thank you!!! This is literally the best tutorial I've seen and it's guided towards tattoos! It's embarrassing how long it took me to figure out the perfect circle function by myself haha!
All your other videos are super helpful too!!! Thank you so much, I'm trying to get into tattooing by using online resources and you are one of the major channels I follow now!
I just got my iPad Air 4 with the Apple Pencil wanting to get back into my artistic side and keep my mind off things and occupied. Upon installing procreate, it was a foreign language, but man did this guy kill this tutorial! You made this learning process a hell of a lot easier. Big preesh on this one man. I owe you a beer!
Superb tutorial buddy, well put together and to the point. I've been messing with procreate for around a year and didn't know a lot of this. All the best from bonnie Scotland. 👍

UPDATE: The streamline option got changed the 5.2 update. It’s under stabilization now. Also smoothing/stabilization.
I hate that they move it bc everyone asks this. Thank you for commenting this lol
its under stabilization now

Marcus Andrew I honestly don’t really shade in procreate. I just mostly use it for stenciling. But if I were to I would use one of the airbrushes

If you start out using the A4 canvas, it is 8”x11” and I believe I was told either it has unlimited layers or that it has the most layers available.
So what you are saying is that if you can only have16 layers then you can't have 17.
