  • New Honda Trail 125 / Hunter Cub CT125 Review! Today we're taking a look at this highly modified custom CT125 build and showing you all of the mods thrown at it. We've got everything from wider, more dual-sport oriented tires for the Trail 125 to help off-road to the Kitaco Neo 181cc big bore kit for this CT125 too! It doesn't stop there though as this Trail 125 / CT125 also has a new 5-speed transmission by Takegawa, added storage thanks to the GIVI trunk, LED pod lights for the CT and the list keeps going when it comes to mods for this motorcycle...

      125 typically gets a whopping 9.7hp with that kit installed I've heard the increase is a additional 15-20hp which could give that bike 30+hp potentially and a 5 speed transmission added i bet you could take that bike from a top speed of 55mph to more like 75mph so now it will go highway speeds

    • @johnnygeorgopoulos4072

      @@ironsoul80sadly that new 5spd trans has the same gearing in 5th as the stock did in 4th.... you just have more acceleration due to the spacing of the gears....a rear sprocket change though would most certainly get you at least up to 70mph with the additional power.

    To say this is awesome would be the downplay of the year. I always love what some people come up with. The trail 125 is one of those bike that we Canadian don't get to enjoy... Yet. Hey HPK, mind meeting me at the boarder and if you could just lob one over, that would be GREAT!

    • @HondaProKevin
      @HondaProKevin  Рік тому +5

      Yessir, you hit the nail on the head there! Same here, especially with some of these mini bikes as people go ham on them and seeing what some of the possibilities are is just too cool. I just need to hit the lotto so I can go ham with about 10 of these minis and maybe throw one over the border for ya lol ;)
      Fingers crossed with its latest round of emissions updates it'll finally make the trek over to Canada, Europe etc as you guys have really gotten the shaft on not getting this bike. If only we lived in a world where you could buy any new Honda that rolls off the production line, instead of this whole "this country gets this, that country gets that" crap that we have now. Maaaan oh man would that be awesome as Honda makes some cool stuff that most people have no idea about, since it's not imported into their home country and they're not on the internet digging around to see what else might be out there. I could ramble on about all of that for an hour but we won't go there as I'm already rambling on lol, appreciate ya watching bud ;)

    My first bike was a Honda CT 70. Got a set of keys in a small box for Christmas when I was eleven. My neighbor owned two Honda shops and bored it out. I could pop wheelies with a twist of the wrist. An angry old man kept calling the cops on me every time I would go ridding on the giant field across the street. Ended up arrested and had to get rid of the bike. Still the best present I have ever gotten in my life.

It's amazing what the algorithm can do when my regular viewers show a lot of love towards a video and then UA-cam starts to serve it out to more and more eyeballs as a "recommended" video. Now if only I can keep that kind of view count coming, or close to it and all of this will be sustainable. I've got a few more months worth of savings and things to sell to keep this train chugging along, fingers crossed it works out so I can keep making videos about what I love and sharing it with you guys!

    • @HondaProKevin
      @HondaProKevin  Рік тому

      I'm sorry but I didn't dive into the price tag on this bike with the owner or builder as that can open up a can of worms that if I'm being honest, I don't want to open. It's a lose lose situation in my opinion.
      Why? Well, if I said it cost $2k or $5k - there's going to be a TON of people saying how dumb this or that was to spend that kind of $$ etc. Whereas if I don't discuss numbers, then there's no controversy and if someone wants to discuss a build and its price tag, the builder's contact info is in the description.
      If the builder / owners want to discuss pricing and don't care if I share, then I'll share. I know that's not the answer a lot of you want to hear but hope you understand where I'm coming from ;)

      @HondaProKevin  Рік тому +2

      ...but what if you love the CT125's styling and want a mini bike to play with instead of a full sized dual-sport bike?
      Don't get me wrong, I understand 100% where you're coming from but most of the time, we don't make decisions based on what makes sense, but rather what sounds more fun in our own heads. You wouldn't believe how many people told me back in 2013 when I picked up the first Grom that came in, before they were as hot as they are today. I was constantly told "why don't you just get a bigger bike" but when I said I have one and that I have more fun on this thing, most couldn't wrap their heads around it. The funny part is though, I lost count at how many of those people I let rip my Grom around at the dealership back then, that fell in love with the whole mini bike scene because of the fun factor behind it and ended up buying one for themselves. It's weird lol but goes to show we're all wired differently and this mini bike scene is on another level where people will spend big $$ to modify them for no other reason than the fact that they enjoy it. At the end of the day, as long as we're having fun on 2-wheels, that's all that matters ;)
