- These are just a few of my favorite Jerry Seinfeld stand-up acts preluding into the actual show.
"Seinfeld is an American television sitcom that originally aired on NBC from July 5, 1989, to May 14, 1998. It lasted nine seasons, and is now in syndication. It was created by Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld, the latter starring as a fictionalized version of himself. Set predominantly in an apartment block in Manhattan's Upper West Side in New York City, the show features a host of Jerry's friends and acquaintances, in particular best friend George Costanza (Jason Alexander), former girlfriend Elaine Benes (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), and neighbor across the hall Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards)."

The thing about observational comedy is that it doesn’t need to make you laugh. It takes a step back and paints life kinda like a zoo and that’s why it’s fun. We should laugh and joke about ourselves - it’s healthy
Classic. He takes the most mundane things that happen to all of us, and might annoy us, and spins it into a comedic jewel! 😂😂😂

Why did they stop the pre-episode stand up comedy in season 8? Thy were awesome
Jerry Seinfeld was already producing the show by the time co-creator Larry David left after the end of season seven. Seinfeld took on more responsibilities, so the stand-up scenes, which were mostly for opening credits by that time, were not made.

I don't care about the cussing but I hate it when they have to act all hyper and make weird face expressions to make anyone laugh. They call it stage presence but I'd prefer if they just let their jokes speak for themselves

+Victor K All of these are pre-show stand ups, taped for the show itself, but the comedy is real, from Seinfeld's mind. So, technically it is fake AND real.
+Jordan Bahr They would film these in one session, with Jerry changing his clothes inbetween routines.
it's real but it can only be seen in the show. jerry did stand up shows for a the studio audience, and they would put in little clips of it when the show started while they were rolling the credits. so it's a real show but it wasn't a public access show that you could get tickets for or watch live on TV.
