I just stumbled onto this. I was there. It was one of those vague memories that seems unreal: "Didn't I see Jerry Seinfeld being introduced by Carl Reiner at a club? Didn't he talk about how the candy is kept like jewelry?" I was a college student in West LA with barely two nickels to rub together.
A classic. Frickin guy was brilliant. Deserves his millions. Some of these jokes have been done to death since, but I remember when this came out and they were all new at the time.
Fuckin' Genius - crafted clean comedy better than most. Even in his Closing he incorpates double entendres and setus like, "That's they get away; That's How I'm gonna Get Away." Drops Mic that are so concretely & fluidly delivered, much like Seinfeld's series
as someone in their late 20's stuck in florida most of their life, everytime I hear the jokes about florida they are so painfully true and the existential dread sinks in deeper.
There are many times during this that Jerry's inflections of speech remind me of William Shatner. Never noticed that before, but listen to his pauses, his emphases ... Truly, it's so similar! ... A couple of nice Jewish boys :)

A lot of comedy specials from that time had skits like that, and it always sucks. Even Carlin had a bunch of stupid cartoons in his On Campus special. I guess some brain donor at HBO thought people didn't want to watch an hour of uninterrupted stand-up. I don't mind one skit at the beginning, but not in the middle of the damn set!

His confidence really helps sell his act
I had this on VHS and watched it religiously for years.
They should give this guy a TV show, I'm sure it would be something!
not a chance
that would be a bad idea
Heard he almost sold a show to NBC about nothing...
Bahamut Dragons Sure. And Maybe that Chappelle guy could have a successful show too. Smh
It'd be gold, Jerry, gold!

My parents got this at our local video store when I was a kid and it blew my mind.
This was my favorite comedy growing up. Was so happy when I heard he was getting his own show.
Nearly 30 years old and still laughing. Jerry is a master of his craft. Thank you for posting this.

Agree 💯 Seinfeld best comedian of all time. Also, Groundhog day one of the best movies of all time. 🙂

Steve Martin's comedy performance is on UA-cam. Two comedy icons❤
Thanks for posting! I remember watching back in the '80s. Knew Jerry was hilarious then.

Greetings and motivation from California!
You can do it!
Around what part of Florida? (I'm just curious about geography)
Why don't you just move then
But... this was about milk.
His routine is great and the skits interrupt the flow but it shows off Jerry’s versatility
Great set by a comedy legend.
Love this!!! And those skits are trippy
I skipped the trippy skits.

Yes, I get that, which is why I stated such.
see kevin pollack for the best shatner impersonation.
cutaways have such a beautiful 80s aesthetic
i loooove cutaways from the late 80s
243sd thank you so much for this wonderful video. Seinfeld, best comedian ever.
Jerry Seinfeld's comedy makes the world a better place ~ 😂
Interesting sort-of-precursor to the sitcom.
Of course I’m gonna give this guy a thumbs up ! 👍🏻
Theyre real and theyre spectacular
Big time! !
Jerry is so adorable ❤️☺️
You are!
I know he’s just so sweet!!
Wow, Joel Hodgeson there at the beginning giving him the comedy x-ray specs.
Years later, and they're still working on Tide 🤣
Thank you very much. I watch him doing the same jokes I saw before and still enjoy!
This guy is like the Beatles of standup. So damn good man, such a tight set.
Lol
Jerry will go down as the GOAT.

Jesus. The skits totally kill the flow to Jerry's set.

Family gathering way spot on, hilarious.
Yes he should make a TV show about nothing...it will be a hit!!
Meh. I don't he's that funny. Maybe if you bring on Larry David as a writer.
'Had to walk to school, it was up hill both ways' 🤣🤣🤣🤣that guy really honed his craft to perfection
I just had a glimpse of Norman in the audience having a nervous breakdown.
Imortal Comedy

Carl Reiner?! Yay!!!! That was a nice surprise. That was a good time for tv. best in the tv business! I wish I was alive for it at the time
I'm pretty sure I never saw this. I've seen a few of the bits, altered slightly. Some great guest cameos. Thanks for sharing.

The jokes about dogs reminds me of my dog Kramer. He passed away last year. I just want to cry.
10:40 - Larry Miller, the Doorman! I just watched that one the other night.
And Joel from MST3K comes walking in at 04:33
Yeah amazing. I saw him too. Best part of the show.

What a Legend
this is him after 12 years of stand-up
Mystery Science Comedy Theater -3000- 1978.
I can't believe they built all these sets just for minute long skits.
Dad they're from another galaxy , I think they know how to travel.
Remote control? What's that... lol
So this was before the awesomeness that Kramer and all the guys made
