- On April 19th 2021 I was conducting a 1st Amendment audit on the USPS office in Riverhead, NY.
USPS employees were very rude and ignorant. Not knowing their own regulations and policies.
They said It was a federal crime to record in the post office, one unidentified federal employee threatened me & slammed the door on my arm.
The police were called and the Riverhead town police were also ignorant of the law.
USPS Supervisor Daniel, came out and explained to the police and his employees that I was able to film. EDUCATED.

Janitors in federal buildings are typically contract by the federal government. They are not federal employees. Ive worked in many federal buildings in many states and they are all contractors. They may have a federal ID card, but anything with a green stripe on it is a contractor…not that he was properly displaying ID.
So a random person told you I was breaking federal law?

Any department that doesn't want body cameras is corrupt and needs to be investigated.
It depends on how many cameras are involved, some law enforcement departments have so many officers/deputies that the cost of storing all of their data (for years) is too expensive for the annual budget. Some states have few huge counties, others hundreds. Ron W4BIN

As a postal employee myself I am ashamed for some of these people.
Our management has told us on multiple occasions that if someone is filming simply leave them alone or mention it to the supervisor if they feel the need to.

They never investigate. They only go by who put in the call to dispatch. Thats a problem. They never asked to look at the rules and regulations, thats at every business. Either way it’s public, which is the simplest law to learn.

When people tell the USPS Employees that they work for us they say, "we don't receive Federal funds". But, when they want to kick someone out of the Post Office all the sudden, "It's a Federal Building". Or if they want to protect an Employee, "Contact the OIG to get his name because they are investigating and he's a Federal Employee". It's almost like it can change whenever it suits their needs.
The post office is not funded by the federal govt. That is 100% true. The buildings I believe are owned by the federal govt. Source: I am a postal worker.

While it would be highly suspicious, it would be interesting to count the number of cameras that are filming you. Without a doubt, the supervisor has access to the recordings showing exactly who the employee was - assuming he's an employee and not somebody who isn't authorized to walk in the door, like the spouse of an employee

Normally I love he's views and how he stands up for his constitutional rights, but I think he went to far on that one.

I was deemed the “bad guy” (or girl as it were) for calling out & reporting them. Civilians, & officers alike, that don’t know & understand the constitution is so disheartening. Sadly, my husband sees rights violations every single day, just as I did. It appears to not be getting any better.
It’s called an eye block, it can present itself in a variety of different ways, but it’s to…kind of put some distance/barrier between the person who is lying and the lie that they are presenting, and the person that they’re trying to sell it to. Anytime people shift, back up, somehow block or protect themselves during conversations where they’re being prodded for information, it’s worth looking into. Can’t take any one thing at face value, but there are definitely key things to look out for that, combined with other suspicious and subtle actions, can expose otherwise believable lies with amazing accuracy.

99% of people who have a job have waived some rights for employment. I.E. can't curse at, or in front of customers. Can't carry a firearm. Must give all your info, wear a nametag, be on film all day and on and on. Federal employees are no exception

Long Island is so beautiful. All my relatives are in Amsterdam and Schenectady. A very intelligent and articulate first amendment auditor. You have a lot more patience than I possess, that's for sure. My mother was Italian from New York and my father was a big white guy. That makes me an American Vietnam veteran who loves this country. Much respect for what you do and how you do it. It's amazing how many guys that try to intimate a guy your size that has no fear and at the same time, knows his rights. I can't believe the ignorance of most postal employees. That's why I make a few remarks aimed at that phenomenon.

The management of the Usps is awful.they would never take the time to educate the employees of rules and regulations of poster 7. The management of Usps is single handedly, the reason American taxpayers have to bail out the post office every 6-10 years.they have destroyed a great asset to the United States citizens. Honestly man thank you for doing what you do you are definitely teaching me I am trying to watch all of your videos and learn as much as I possibly can. I would like to be a follow-up auditor just to see how they act after you have been there. But honestly I wouldn't even consider doing an audit unless I learn from your videos. They are very educational and honestly I would have never even seen inside of some of these municipalities in these buildings if you would have never filmed it and I love old school architecture I'm an old school Carpenter. Went to Job Corps when I was young got a degree and have been working doing carpentry and mechanics my entire life. Which are both my passion. But growing up in Delaware Ohio has made me want to become an auditor because of the way they treated me and other people that I know. There's where you should go Delaware ohio. They need an education more than anything. And Valley View there is a bunch of different municipalities here in Columbus they all need an education because they all act this exact same way to the public. I would give you an awesome tour around our beautiful city Columbus is a great place to visit. Rotting our lime scooters downtown are one of the funnest things to do along the river. And eat in the Short North man some of the best food on the planet is right here. Again thank you for what you do God bless you.

On behalf of all postal employees I apologize for their ignorance and stupidity. The majority are completely inept and unaware of the rules and regulations especially management. During my week of training and my 15 year career this has never been mentioned.
I can confirm this. I've been a carrier for 23 years and have never heard a single word in any of our mostly pointless meetings.

I work the post office. Watch these videos all the time. It’s crazy that these employees hide their badges and stuff.
Just so you know we get service talks all the time about having to wear our badge visible at all times so people know we are official. It’s policy and the employees not wearing one could quite possibly be written up for not doing so.
