@CohCohPuff I mean, he's supposed to be the fastest guy in-universe. It really is weird that he's never really allowed to use it in lore. If we got to watch all of Armageddon play out in real time, he would definitely be one of the first to make it to Blaze, just after all of the teleporters.
@CohCohPuff I know it’ll never happen, but even just a small chapter dedicated to Sonya, Jax, and maybe some other special forces fighter hunting the black dragon members would be great. And it would serve to rope Tremor back into the game. Sadly, probably won’t happen

@typhlosion7872. I like how Kratos retains the dynamic of "being stronger than his enemies despite being smaller than them" in MK9 like he does in the GOW series.
Well, question answered, Kabal was never low tier. Funny thing that people forget about the Mk11 incarnation, especially in regard to Nomad Dash cancel, is that all his strings are safe and have no gaps - not a lot of need to spend meter for confirms/block safety when you can't be punished normally anyway. Also funny because flawless block was supposed to be (and is, if you're good enough to use it) the big defensive mechanic in MK11, and here's a character who has no gaps to flawless block.
This channel has almost single-handedly reignited my interest in MK as a series, in addition to giving me an appreciation for characters I never used as a kid, including the cyborgs and this guy here. Love the way you explain the mechanics and looking forward to more!
I cannot express just how much I LOVE this channel. Extremely tasteful, pro, and detailed a usual. Thank you so much for posting. I have an EXTREME love HATE relationship with MK9 being played online and at tournaments since the 2 resulted in the game being patched into the ground like most other "modern" fighting games. I had the privilege (depending on how you look at it) of playing MK9 when it first came out while I was in college. My university was in a VERY rural area making internet connection unusable for gaming so there were a LOT of local games on campus on different people's unpatched versions of MK9 and it was some of the best times we've ever had playing a fighting game almost harking back to the old arcade days. We ABSOLUTELY figured out how "broken" Kabal was in early game and it was both hilarious and fun ending up with him getting banned in some rooms. Lol. We also discovered how "broken" Tag was (which was my intro to this glorious channel) in a way that's almost inconceivable to "modern" fighting game players, 4 players on one console crammed on a couch to eventually all standing since that s*** got serious. ROFL! Absolute fun I miss immensely. Thanks again for posting and sparking that (nearly lost) memory.
Since my character in Deadly Alliance was Mavado, when I got Deception I naturally used Kabal even though at the time he wasn't a character I liked a whole lot, the Hookswords in DA and Deception was a fun stance indeed.

Always love when a new competitve history drops!! Kabal is such a freaking powerhouse, I never liked him growing up and still hate fighting him to this day. But damn he's a beast. Would absolutely love a CH of Sonya next!
CH of Sonya will be interesting as she's also been consistently strong throughout the series. God-tier in MK1 thanks to her easy leg grab infinite, Top 10 in UMK3 in more recent tier lists, MK4/Gold I think was her only game where she was considered weak, a Top 5 character in MKDA, High-mid tier in MKA, Top 10 in MKvDC, Top 5 in MK9, Demolition variation in MKX was super strong and she was again pretty good in MK11.
Incredible character, flawless legacy, and an amazing video as always. Thank you! Fun fact Kabal's top tierness is so notorious, even the Magic card named after MK references Kabal being top 1. 😂
Love it. I think this is your best one yet! In umk3 Kabal is absolutely number 1 over human smoke. But the weird thing about the dynamic of those two characters Is that human smoke may be the only matchup in the game that is not favorable for kabal.
Man I still remember when my love for Kabal started. Quarantine was up and I had MK9 for PC since a long time, but never really played it. And decided to give it a try and change from the usual Scorpion and Sub-Zero, where my eyes went directly to Kabal, I fell in love with the character immediate, all his combos were great and felt intuitive, I wasted so much time just playing around in training mode and seeing what he was capable of. UMK3 Kabal is crazy. I still use him and human smoke but Kabal is just better because nomad dash is so scary and it's easy to use as a punish. Human smoke can be a little inconsistent because some of his combos require a second spear and I believe unless you have frame advantage you might not always get the 2nd spear to come out. Highkey the #1 MK character rn he’s so consistent with being a top/high tier.
Been waiting for Kabal. Thank you!!
Him being so busted so much is why I used to hate him, but he's so fun to play in 9 and 11 that I got over it; and I liked his backstory in 9.
I main smoke but loved kabals hook swords so played him a lot
Kabal is so Fucking Awesome
I hope we'll see competitive history of Shang Tsung some day.
I look forward to The Mortal Kombat Meta of Deception and The Competitive History of Scorpion and Sub-Zero Your Videos Are Awesome and I love Mortal Kombat and I love the Older Games
I really wanna see a vídeo about Sonya Blade competitive history
And here I always loved him just cuz he's a fast boy with saw blades and a mask
UMK3 Kabal is crazy. I still use him and human smoke but Kabal is just better because nomad dash is so scary and it's easy to use as a punish. Human smoke can be a little inconsistent because some of his combos require a second spear and I believe unless you have frame advantage you might not always get the 2nd spear to come out. Kabal is just more consistent. Hot take, but I think Stryker might be Kabals best counter in UMK3.
