He's overall a great character. MK3: very op UMK3: nerfed but still great MKT: same as UMK3 MKD: high tier MKA: mid but he's still fine MK9: back to being very good MK11: not sure
Idk. I kinda liked that they are tried to make sense out of it by making the story about ninjas transformed into cyborgs in mk9 (if I remember correctly)
Competitive histories are always so great! You guys make really good informative videos, especially for something as niche as competitive mortal kombat. I mean, people don’t really play the games to become god-tier gamers, they play to see a guy get his head ripped off :p But these videos may make them reconsider! If I can give a suggestion, history of Baraka would own. He was crazy good in trilogy, had a weird history of ups and downs throughout the franchise, and wasn’t in too many games that the video would be insanely long.

It's really fun once you learn how to play. If you play on PC or Xbox id recommend starting with Mk9 or mkx. You can play mk9 on playstation but it's only on playstation now subscriptions.
@@nicholausstevens1262 MK 9 is only on the 360 though. So either way he’d need two Xbox’s or PlayStation’s to play MK 9 properly, on 360 or ps3 And the One or PS4 or Series X|S or PS5 to play MK X and 11. Of course a PC even, to play all of them if he has one, like you mentioned.
@@09rinrada mk9 is reverse compatible so you can play it just fine on Xbox1 or Series S. The only reason I didn't mention PS is because it's only on PS Now for current gen.
@@09rinrada no I mean you can play Mk9 on xbox1 because it is a reverse compatibility game. Without xbox1/series S having reverse compatibility they would not be able to play the games from the previous console generations. Emulators are on PC for games that normally don't exist on steam or anywhere else. They're basically fan made copies of the game that try to get it to play exactly the same, with some minor gameplay differences.
This is great...Sektor was always my favorite cyber-ninja. I liked to play him as a really aggressive zoner back in UMK3. In the arcades I frequented and in our community, not many people played him, preferring the nets and auto combos of Cyrax or the catch and combos of Smoke. So long as they didn't know how to punish his teleport punch, you could really lay a beating on someone with Sektor!
good stuff per usual! glad to see one of the condiments shows up. if you're taking suggestions, a fun aside could be one big Boss Character Special--i know pretty much all of them are banned but a rundown on just how fucked they are could be VERY fun
I love these competitive histories a lot, but I espiecally love the small personal touches in this one! Obviously you have a lot of feelings toward the character, but the edits and jokes were pretty great and I'd love to see more of them in the future.
I'd like to see a competitive history of Johnny Cage next, however I can see it being quite the undertaking since he's been in basically every mainline game besides Deception iirc?
When it comes to players in tournament for trilogy, it's mostly N64 with occasional PSX communities. This doesn't cover every single specific appearance cuz that's not really what this series is about. Sektor in N64 has relaunchers both sides, no missile restriction, double missile etc. Easily the best version of 2d

It genuinely wasn't. I was about to start on my next character and then hbtw got me involved with his sektor video. I decided to shift the order so that sektor fans had a double whammy of good content to watch 😂
Still mad they didn't make Sektor playable in mk11. Love at first sight in mk3 and have been maining him ever since. Crazy skill ceiling and flashy combos makes him the best character to play alongside Cyrax.
@@PNDKM Sektor is competing with Smoke, Tremor, Liu Kang, & Sonya. But that's my top 5. There's numerous other candidates after those. Thankfully, most of the cast has something extremely powerful during neutral.
It's really stupid looking back on it but MKG Sektor genuinely made me and my brother get into a full blown fist fight when we were like 11 and 13. Never fought like that before or since, that was just how stupidly cheesy and broken he was lol.
That Cyrax one mustard may be working on surely will be fire, besides that, I would love to see Baraka, kind of in the Sheeva realm of lower-tier obscurity, and also is a character that has been part of MK since the second install so he deserves some love. I would also love some Bo Rai Cho or maybe Reptile, who has also been in the franchise for a long time and his NRS appearances have had some cool tech and tier placements. Love the content always. PD: A MK deception meta would be really cool whenever that would be possible, appreciate all content.
Ketchup please do a Smoke competitive history! He’s been top tier in UMK3, MKX,MK9. Lot to go over about him and his anti zoning, anti airs, and 80% resets in MK9! Always loved watch Aris, Tommy Wafflez, xSmokex, cdjr, and kt smith wreck people with him!
the next competitive history I'd like to see is Raiden, a character who has had a lot of downs over the years but a few notable highs would be an exciting ride, I'm sure.

Sektor the Red cyber ninja ahhh this character is so cool visually and the yin to cyrax yang he isn’t as combo heavy but he does have some nice move set up’s with the Rocket which was always sick and his flame thrower is legendary competitively he’s fair and always a welcome to the roster
If people don’t understand that Sektor is designed to be superior to and more deadly than his clone, Cyrax, the fact that he dual wields the very weapon Cyrax uses should give that away.
Its wee videos like this that make me appreciate mortal kombat even more. As someone who's been playing it since super NES era mk1 admittedly I never gave every single character a chance and sektor was one of them. Back then fighting games were really just played with your mates for a laugh but these days fighting games really have become an art! All the tiny details that make games like mortal kombat so much more.... it's amazing how far we have come gaming wise

Sektor has my favorite playstyle in Mortal Kombat.

Honestly, there's about 7 or 8 characters in MKXL that are fighting for the top 5 spot. A testament to how balanced that game is.
