- I may have saved the best till last here my final TIYL upload features another legend from the world of acting. This person originally made her name starring in the "Carry On" Films and then starred on Broadway but I think all of us know her best as the nations favourite land lady Peggy Mitchell in Eastenders ruling the Queen Vic for many years and telling many who crossed her to "Get Outta My Pub" long before Mick and Linda Carter alias Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright came onto the scene. Enjoy everyone as the book master Michael Aspel presents the Big Red Book to the legendary Dame Barbara Windsor.

At the end of her 2010 guest spot with Piers Morgan he asks her what would she prefer to be remembered for in her obituary, her breasts or her giggle. She looked him up and down and answered, " Neither, I'd want to be remembered for being a good bird '. Oh you so were, lovely lady, and so much more. You were taken so cruelly by dementia, but you had the love and support of your beloved Scott right up to the end. Rest In Eternal Peace, Dame Barbara.

I can't believe that was 28 year's ago, I was in the audience for the show "Music Hall" and being in the stalls of the theatre, I was the first man she kissed on her walk up through the audience to the stage. We stayed on for this is your life and I recall we had to wait an absolute age for the turn around and for Bar to get changed.
When RIP means something. Dementia sucks.
Totally agree with you as it took my beloved dad away from us in 2021 it's a horrible illness and hated seeing my dad that way but I have the memories.😢❤x
It certainly does as I lost my dad to it two years ago and it was horrible to see this strong man I called dad taken away from us due to this.😢❤x

i dont think so, hardly any of the carry on cast liked her, they all couldnt stand her, thats why the ones who were still alive in 1992, couldn't even be bothered to say anything nice or congratulate her even by video link.
Bless you Barbara, dementia is hell, your in my thoughts and prayers. To Scott, many doubted you but you are an amazing man and I feel so much for you.💜💜💜
I’m so glad she found such happiness with Scott, he’s been such a loving and caring soulmate for Barbara. Makes me sad to see her suffering with dementia. Thank you for putting this up.

Why is it so incredible that she didn't have children?
Many famous women never had children. Elizabeth I, Wallis Simpson, Marilyn Monroe, Victoria Principal, Kylie Minogue, Theresa May, Caroline Flack. It proves that you don't have to be a mother to live a fulfilled life. RIP Dame Barbara Windsor.

As an American I didn't know Barbara Windsor or her work at all, but it's instantly easy to see why the British public loved her. She radiates warmth and loving and fun to all, much like America's Dolly Parton.

I,m glad Barbara windsor found happiness with her partner Scott. She was a wonderful actress she made people laugh. Then last year she died of that horrible illness dementia. Gone but never forgotten r.i.p. Barbara you may be dead but you're a carry on legend.
Such a big part of many generations life in television, she was a class act in all i saw of her tv performances.Sad shes gone but never will we be aloud to forget the beautiful Babara Windsorxx ....

Just stumbled on this video , how lovely for a wonderful British superstar. What an amazing lady . Breaks my heart keep seeing so many awesome Brits that I grew up enjoying watching so very very much with my family . RIP Dame Barbara Windsor. I wouldve felt so happy and privileged to of met you . From Australia, always enjoyed Barbara wherever she appeared in shows. Especially the carry on shows. She was very natural. Sad to hear if her passing.
Love her! Proper down to earth with class. I met her at a charity event I managed years ago and she was exactly as she seems. Such a lovely lady. And her husband Scott was exactly the same. Last of the great carry on stars gone now

When I was about 10 she came to open a supermarket in Dublin and 2500 people turned out to see her! So modest and so, so talented.

My mate used to do autographs he met babs a few times said she was the lovesrtly person going he met a few other stars think one was ray Winston etc but had lot of respect for her
Seeing her here, down to earth, genuine and loving. I had the privilege of meeting her, and that’s exactly how she was. Much missed.

I've said this before about other big names. This show was mostly a half hour show, but some people got 1 hour shows. Barbara certainly was one of those who deserved the full hour. She was such an icon in this country.

This is your Life 1992. Dame Barbara Windsor. So much has happened to her since that show. She divorced that husband. Joined EASTENDERS. Had a few affairs and got Married again! So many of the guests in that show have since died and poor Barbara is very ill herself. Take Care!

I'm so glad that I had the opportunity of meeting with her at a car boot sale and she told me that the scene from carrying on camping was all set up but not ment to happen with the bra
