Cosmoem is basically a tiny galaxy condensed into such a small size,so I'm more surprised that its much lighter than I anticipated it to be and how less dense I also thought it was.
I thought it was a black hole and the 999,9kg in the pokedex is just a sign, that it is to heavy to measure. So I thought in Imperial measure it will be also 9999 ibs (is this the correct usage for it?)
What I find really interesting about Groudon and Kyogre's hights is that in the anime they are both Godzilla sized which means that they should really be around 50-100 meters tall.
That's nothing, look at the Regigigas vs. Giratina fight in the anime. Giovanni and some of his grunts are nearby observing and unless it's a trick of perspective then either Giovanni is TWO FEET TALL, or Regigigas is waaaay over 20 feet as Giovanni seems to not even reach Regigigas's upper thigh.
Dunsparce was always a weird one for me. It's canonically 4' 11" long, but every depiction of it in game (I do not remember its anime showings) makes it look like the size of a house slipper.
I remember that one episode of Kalos series where he was briefly trying to catch a Dunsparce, and it actually was as big as the games say. I think it was shorter in the early seasons, though.
7:03 I've got to say, that's not an uncommon length for a reasonably large snake. Like, most pythons get to at least around that size. Royal/Ball Pythons can get to 5 foot long, and they're some of the smallest.
Wailord is a whale and the blue whale is the largest animal on the planet just as Wailord is the largest Pokemon of existence. And, even though Wailord can fly ,it mainly spends its time in the ocean. Meaning ,it's based on a whale!
Actually, Jellicent isn't that unreasonable. There are actually a few species of jellyfish that can grow to about the same size. There is a kind of jellyfish called the Nomura's Jellyfish that has an average bell size (which is the main part of the body) of 6 feet, while the largest species of jellyfish, the Lion's Mane, has an average bell size of 7 feet.
Friendly reminder that the average height in Japan is 5’6” and 5’2” for men and women respectively. It doesn’t explain all of these small sizes, but does give some perspective as to why they appear around that heigh rather than 6 feet or so
it does .put the heights of dbz characters into perpective. goku and (adult) gohan look tall but are both 5'9 vegeta is 5'5 (which makes him 2 inches taller than wolverine in the comics) krillin is 5'0 i think with bulma chi-chi and 18 being around 5'4
@@ohmeohmicah only ppl short like kid gohan or goten are that short. dbz character heights and funny to think about especially with super making everyone slimmer and taller looking
I feel like some added context is necessary. Average American adult height is 5'8" and 5'4" for men and women respectively. Japanese people are a little shorter than Americans, but the small numbers for some of the pokemon probably doesn't stem from a major difference is perspective. One of it's larger section bounders (Including it's head) would weigh more than 463 lbs. There's no way that this entire 29 foot long rock monster weighs anything less than several thousand pounds.
It gets even worse with Steelix, something he didn't even mention. Stellix, despite being made of solid metal, is 882 lbs and the length of a school bus, an object made mostly out of metal, is completely hollow, and weighs 15,000 lbs! Steelix should be crumbling to dust because of how light it is.
@HackerDragon9999 Yeah, it's funny how mudsdale actually has logical weight compared to most other pokemon, including pokemon that represent creatures its real life counterpart would be related to. As a side note, tauros is about 10 times lighter than the average bull.
Why didn’t Wailord get a gigantamax form though? I’m not even joking, wailord should’ve gotten a gigantamax. I mean, Meowth got a Gigantamax... MEOWTH!
I think with Wailord its the fact that its supposed to resemble a blimp, meaning it shouldn't be that heavy to begin with. But I would honestly preferred it to be heavier
Problem is it wouldn't be able to swim. It would even float in the air, which would make sense seeing that it's based off a baloon, yet it's always shown as living in the water! Well, physics rules are more like guidelines in the Pokémon universe, I guess...
@@bulborb8756 It's got some strong ass gravitational field around it basically meaning it weights nothing considering it first appears floating in the game.
I really think the height check and weight check thing in the Sinnoh games should just be a standard feature in every game going forward. It helps to better visualize what it would actually be like to be around these Pokémon and just what those measurements mean.
cosmog's evolution line has always been the most interesting and realistic for me. cosmog symbolizes a part of a dusty star-forming galaxy (thus it is very light), cosmoem symbolizes a compact galaxy (which comes after the star-forming stage of a galaxy, thus it is very, very heavy but small), and finally if a compact galaxy starts to merge, it gives birth to a new galaxy, composing of thousands of stars (that is symbolized by solgaleo) and/or moons (that is symbolized by lunala).
isnt it just representing a single star system...? Cosmog is the nebula before it starts forming a star, Cosmoem is the proto-star pokemon so its an early part of a stars evolution (despite more resembling a neutron star in characteristics...), and solgaleo is the star after its formed. And lunala is just a moon idk how that really fits into this.
@@lenkagamine4145 you can view it like that too. but if you perceive it like that, just like you said, lunala would not fit to the evolution line at all. what i explained is that of the life of a GALAXY, but in your case, it was the life of a STAR.
@@dealuxe_7545 lunala doesnt really make sense either way since moons arent really things of a cosmic scale that make sense in the evolution of a galaxy, either. its not called a sea of moons after all, galaxies arent made up of moons. The Japanese life-size Furret plush confirms 5'11" is indeed its length from head to tail. Also I think it's intentional that Wailord is so light, considering it's called the "Float Whale Pokémon".
The real sad thing about the bizarre weights is that they actually have an effect in gameplay. It wouldn't matter much if it was only just for show, but then there are moves like Grass Knot and Heavy Slam, whose effects are dictated by weight class.
I used to think that Dhelmise was about 3 feet tall but, then thought about how anchors have to weigh down ships weighing hundreds of tons. After that, I realized that anchors would have to be bigger than my ego to stop it, which helps to explain Dhelmise's height.
My favorite fact about Wailord isn't it's weight, but that everyone seems worried it can breed with Skitty. I laugh at this as Diglett is in the same egg group and is smaller than Skitty
Diglett is so small (and conveniently shaped) that it makes total sense again, how it can breed with a Wailord: A male Diglett can easily get inside a female Wailord... 💁♂️
Nobody mentions Diglett because we haven't seen its whole body. Diglett could be a huge thing underground and we wouldn't know. Skitty though, we do know it's a wee thing.
Well tbf, it has 3 potential heights, those being wingspan, head to toe, and head to tail. And also tbf, it IS a winged lizard. Mpst lizards are small, of course with a few exceptions, but it's not that farfetch'd.
I never think that it would be Godzilla size, considering how it's not that bigger than Rayquaza, but I expect it to be at least 10m tall. Like, the normal Orca is around that size ffs, and Groudon and Kyogre should be bigger than Orca
MandJTV: its machamp it's supposed to be the pinnacle of athleticism Buzzwole: hold my weights when a anchor (dhelmise) is bigger than the creator of land (groudon)
If that were the case, it would be given the "snake-like" body type, where it is emphasized that the size/height of the Pokemon is actually the measured length. This is not the case for Furret, it has the "dog-like" body type, meaning it is measured the same way as other dog Pokemon, who are also measured by their height, not length.
Cosmog is a nebula, Cosmoem is a protostar, and Sogaleo represents the Sun, which is a star. This evolution chain represents the life cycle of a star. If you paid attention in astronomy class then you would know that protostars are extremely dense. No wonder Cosmoem is so heavy
The reason for all Pokémon being smaller than they should be(if they follow u in let’s go or attack u in arceus) is cause they would take up to much of the screen, which is why alpha torterra looks like it’s the size regular torterra should be.
Cosmoem's density makes sense to me. I always thought it was based on a dead star. (Neutron stars have a density of 10 to the 17 power) so its weight compared to its size always made sense to me
It just gets weird once you see characters in the games and shows pick things like this up with ease. I mean we all remember Ash and Jesse’s insane physical feats that made people question if human’s in the Pokémon world technically had “types” too.
I believe the reason that cosmoem is so heavy is because it is based on a protostar (really dense baby star) explaining its o surf weight. I am sure someone has already said this but I just wanted to point it out. Loved the vid as always
I think the reason Cosmoem is so dense is because it’s supposed to represent a black hole; Cosmog represents “cosmic smog”, or Nebulas, and Cosmoem’s design features distorted space around a small black face, similar to the design of one. It would only make sense that the densest Pokémon was based on the densest object in the universe, a singularity.
well that's true, but the creator of land is like only halfway the god of destruction's height which doesn't really make sense, even a fking anchor is bigger than it
even still the anime is very inconsistent when it comes to pokemon sizes, for example ash's charizard is a runt compared to other charizards....then there was the Kaiju sized Tentacruel and Dragonite, and then why is Joltik so big in the anime? that is is only 4 inches tall
@@bulborb8756 Well...maybe it's like animals in real life? You know, big whale and small whale, big dog and small dog, etc. In Tentacruel and Dragonite case, maybe they're mutation? But in joltik case...I have no idea😅
I get Cosmoem. It seemed to be fashioned after a white dwarf (seeing as Solgaleo is the *sun* pokemon, it makes sense) and those things are *extremely* dense.
for the wailord check the pokedex, also Despite being one of the largest existing Pokémon at 14.5 meters, Wailord is so light for its size that it would float in the air due to it being less dense. Wailord weighs only 398 kilograms, which puts its BMI (Body Mass Index) at 1.9. For reference, the optimal BMI for humans is between 18 to 25

My favorite fact about Wailord isn't it's weight, but that everyone seems worried it can breed with Skitty. I laugh at this as Diglett is in the same egg group and is smaller than Skitty
Is this Pokemon vore of something
Yeah that is amusing. Hot skitty on wailord action. XD
Diglett is so small (and conveniently shaped) that it makes total sense again, how it can breed with a Wailord:
A male Diglett can easily get inside a female Wailord... 💁♂️
Nobody mentions Diglett because we haven't seen its whole body. Diglett could be a huge thing underground and we wouldn't know. Skitty though, we do know it's a wee thing.

In FireRed and LeafGreen, you can actually open up your Pokédex and see height of every single pokémon compared to the player character.
The one that always messed with me is Charizard’s size. I’m literally taller than a charizard...
So Furret is about your size
Perfect! Hang out with it on the sofa!
@@MariOmor1 y did u nade them so huge?
@@MiddestPerson Why not
Well tbf, it has 3 potential heights, those being wingspan, head to toe, and head to tail. And also tbf, it IS a winged lizard. Mpst lizards are small, of course with a few exceptions, but it's not that farfetch'd.

At home when we're bored we like to play a game of "how tall is the Pokémon", Pokémon heights are so weird, we almost always get it wrong
Dude I've always though Lucario was like 5 foot
*lies*
hen I always thought Lucario was a dwarf
Wait, I always thought Nebby was just a super dense mini star.
Is he actually a living, contained black hole, then???
Just googled, and black holes have about 15 more zeros at the end
No
no, its actually still much, much, much less dense than a neutron star even. not even close to a black hole. not even in the general vicinity.
Well as small as the black thing in the center of it is that would be abnormally small and light
@@Piakchu9349 You mean dark matter?
I remember being very confused when I read groudon's height, I always imagined they were like... godzilla sized.
I never think that it would be Godzilla size, considering how it's not that bigger than Rayquaza, but I expect it to be at least 10m tall. Like, the normal Orca is around that size ffs, and Groudon and Kyogre should be bigger than Orca
in the anime, groudon, kyogre, and rayquaza were fucking _huge_
this is a lil baby boo
Fun video! The fact you converted units shows you care about your viewers!
I think yveltal makes a lot of sense honestly, it makes sense for the legendary pokemon of destruction to be a gigantic creature
It even powered a massive WMD. Ofc it's big
But the very concept of groudon being that small is pretty bothersome since i remember him being a gigantic boi in the anime

Smart*ss.😡
Fun fact: furret is taller than charizard.

Okeeeiiii
SdSC28 i had to Double check this and cosmoem and celsteela juuust miss out by being 999.9 kg
Wouldn’t primal groudon reach that? He’s like 200 feet tall
It's more of the restrictions of the in-game scale than anything that makes canonical sense.
What da
Not only that the cosmos is thought to be the most dense at it's beginning stage.
I thought it was neutron stars, not protostars

The reason for all Pokémon being smaller than they should be(if they follow u in let’s go or attack u in arceus) is cause they would take up to much of the screen, which is why alpha torterra looks like it’s the size regular torterra should be.

It makes me so mad that no one considers the possibility of wailord being hollow.
Furret would be amazing to cuddle though. Like a living body pillow.

Just imagine Haunter charging at you in full speed.
Wailord is actually inspired by blimps as well as whales, so it's weight is actually fairly accurate for a blimp!
Bruh Yveltal is a god of destruction of course that MONSTER is HUGE!!
well that's true, but the creator of land is like only halfway the god of destruction's height which doesn't really make sense, even a fking anchor is bigger than it
Don't look at game pokedex size, just look at the size on the anime it's more logical
even still the anime is very inconsistent when it comes to pokemon sizes, for example ash's charizard is a runt compared to other charizards....then there was the Kaiju sized Tentacruel and Dragonite, and then why is Joltik so big in the anime? that is is only 4 inches tall
@@bulborb8756
Well...maybe it's like animals in real life? You know, big whale and small whale, big dog and small dog, etc. In Tentacruel and Dragonite case, maybe they're mutation? But in joltik case...I have no idea😅
"The anime's more logical"
Now does are words I'd never thought I hear/read without the word Isn't 😶
Pokemon sizes are like Dragonball Z power levels.
they anime has also many times proven it self not cannon
I get Cosmoem. It seemed to be fashioned after a white dwarf (seeing as Solgaleo is the *sun* pokemon, it makes sense) and those things are *extremely* dense.
As dense as you
i feel like cosmoem is dense enough to be a black hole
@@vitomarasovic982 nope. A neutron star core is already denser than Cosmoem

Heres a new one: Falinks is 9 feet and ten inches
Surely that is from front to back
*it better be*
It makes sense
Still is pretty crazy if you measure it
Wait... do they mean one Falinks or the entire group... oh no...
Cosmoem is based off a neutron star with a large mass and small diameter, but how Lillie can hold it is beyond me...
for the wailord check the pokedex, also Despite being one of the largest existing Pokémon at 14.5 meters, Wailord is so light for its size that it would float in the air due to it being less dense. Wailord weighs only 398 kilograms, which puts its BMI (Body Mass Index) at 1.9. For reference, the optimal BMI for humans is between 18 to 25
Using BMI to measure animals and non-humans makes ZERO sense
Yveltal is still taller then you
In the Pokémon Battle Royale, Whailord just floats up into the air.
It applies to every fish or exclusively aquatic Pokémon.
Yes because he is lighter than air
Didn't you know? Wailord is the "float whale Pokémon". I'm not kidding, that's ACTUALLY its description.
