Good vid shroom! You should clean the outer skin/fins off those squid just like you do for fresh cali and arrows. Works wonders for kingys in the hacking and even kingys down at sans souci
You mean like strip them up (or use just the skinned hood)? Sounds good, I've been down at sans souci lately, yet to see any bustups but it's usually quieter this time of year

Shroom is good value, but using imported seafood products as fishing bait can pose a disease risk to local waters. Not sure how big the risk is, but not all pathogens (especially viruses) are killed during the freezing process. There is often a warning about this on the packaging.
True MrSaltyBloke but these are for use as bait, sold at bait and tackle shops and places like BCF if I'm not mistaken. Say imported prawns from the fish monger like vannamei prawns, then that's a potential issue of introduce diseases to local stocks. I'll look into the squid further but it wouldn't make sense the bait shops here would stock it as bait

Thanks for your dedication David. I made a big mistake and didn't realise I made the video only have sound mostly in one ear. In my panic, I took this video down right away after I realised and made a new one. When the new one was uploaded, I got a comment that they didn't understand why I reuploaded and I explained the sound problem. They didn't notice/hear it so I then reverted back to this video thinking it's not big enough an issue as only a fraction of people (probably half) are affected or aren't too bothered by it

If...you get fresh squid when it's fresh, then it should be better. However , the times i get to fish, the frozen import is the stuff that works for me best, and the price is right.
Fresh takes the cake Dave, but I have to say I am totally surprised how good this imported frozen stuff can be. Price can't be beat
