Great video champion, I've only tried the bream prawn for about twenty minutes, and that was about 6 months ago, will definitely be getting them packets back out again, I told you the bream are stacked up in that bay and canal, at the moment, I've had my best bream sessions there, and plenty of whiting up the canal, also a pack of salmon up the canal yesterday, couldn't hook one, but great to see the system is really coming back after the floods, most of the bream I've caught there, have a darker golden colour and not the really silver ones, but about half of them had sores on them, great video champion
Thanks a lot Anthony, that's amazing. It's been a tough month for me especially out in the open. That one with sores was the worst I've seen. I wonder what happened...
Good fun vid Shroom. Ever since they were release well over 10 years ago they have been underrated. That is because at the time they were release 2" shrimp was the No.1 lure on the tourney scene. Then not too long later the cranka crab and Zman grubs got released so the poor little bream prawn never really took off in a massive way. Steve Morgan (Boss of ABT/AFC) has been the one stand out continuous user of the bream prawn. He also uses stick minnows a lot, tries not do what everyone else does in the crowd I think. He has a youtube channel but its more tourney fishing than a comedic fishing experience.
Thanks a lot Boris, very underrated indeed. I think a lot of it is because when a lot of anglers think of the bream prawn, they picture people fishing off boats in the tournament scene but there's no reason one can't have fun in the casual sense landbased.
@@ShroomFishing Yeah you're right, to be honest this is a really good method land based, less snags and don't need to be afraid to chuck it into the darkest spots. They work well on a weighted jig head too if the wind is about.
The other day I was at the tackle shop, I saw them on the shelf but I was waiting for someone to encourage me to give them a go Thanks Shroom. They look not bad
I agree Stephen, their greatest effectiveness is with a worm hook but landbased I can understand why people might use something else. In structure, dropped down along something like a boat hull it would be dynamite!
I've seen them being used but never tried them. Saw someone on insta catching a tank of a Bream with them. Going to have to try them after watching this. I hear you can flip em around 4 different ways on the hook once they start to wear out
I’ve tried this in white colour with small and light t/t jighead worked too. It’s good in winter I reckon most fish stays mostly on the bottom and structures, this lure smells really strong too! Great sess bro 🤙
I've seen a few people using the white colour recently haha. They work with jigheads as well, I do think the weedless weightless presentation gives it the X factor though!
Watching a few usa fishing videos, they seem to love using this kind of setup for bass, cool to see someone using it in Australia. Anyone who double bags those scented lures has been through a traumatic experience with leaking lol. I think a small split shot there would really help.
This plastic was designed in collaboration with an Aussie angler Steve Morgan. Check his video tutorial on how to use it. It’s his favourite method for tournament bream
A good lure in the snags and structure Mark. They have a really slow sink so long as the wind isn't too strong and the current isn't ripping it's deadly
Enjoying your channel. I have never been a great fisherman but I used to use traditional hook n sinker & bait and catch the odd fish, never a fishing hero but at least would catch. Few months ago I made the leap to soft plastics.... I live in paynesville (fish everywhere.... apparently anyway). Have 2 rods 3-9kg and 4-8kg daiwa, and daiwa 2000 reels. Using braid 8kg and braid 6kg, trying 4kg and 6kg fluro leaders. Have like 30 different types of plastics inc all the kings zmanngrubs etc. Cannot catch a fish. Keep playing with the retrieve but in the last say 48hrs of straight fishing I have had one strike that did not hook and that's all. Anytips what I'm doing wrong? (My knots are good, I'm not snapping off or anything). Does colour of braid matter? (Locations fished: paynesville canals, paynesville moorings, lakes entrance under the bridge and on the island near the tafe, near the caravan park rhe other end in the estuary near the golf course, nicholson River, under bairnadale bridge). Using scent (zfactor and another brand bloodworm flavour) in a tube on the lures. Using pretty small jighead hooks. Cannot catch one fish. Any clues? I'm beginning to think this soft plastics thing is all a big marketing ploy. Have done about 40-50hours of actual line in water fishing time.
Good on you for trying to take up soft plastics. Fishing right now is the toughest time of year, at least for me so don't get discouraged. The first obvious problem I see is that your rods are way too heavy for smaller fish like bream and whiting. A 2-4kg 7 foot rod is a good compromise between strength and finesse. Braid should be approx. 2-3kg or about 6lb with a leader around the same poundage. See this video here for further tips and of course, I have a whole series of podcast episodes (Shroom Live on Spotify) talking about lure fishing for the beginner at the stage you're at. ua-cam.com/video/_jheLGufBDA/v-deo.html

@@grimreaper6112 Yes indeed I have. A good way to get a feel for the intelligence of fish is to consider what experienced game fisherman get to observe.
