Success at last. I felt confident you would be able to catch at least something decent on the plastics. That segmented glide bait needs to hit some shallow flats for a flatty!
Thanks Sam, that fish felt like it was never coming but glad it did! I did get a few hits on the swimbait but most likely tailor. I think to truly get something on that I'd have to put it in front of a decent flatty

@@ShroomFishing not bad at all mate . All places I know . Come up to Parra in the summer for some bass . I have some earth worms breeding in my garage that a good fisho gave me . He catches more bass on worms than on lures there . Will try for the first time with them this weekend . Should be interesting , haven't fished with bait for 5 years or more . 😮😉👍🎣

I like a stiffer faster actioned rod. It feels better to fish with in general but a softer rod does have it's advantages too

Hey Shroomos, been watching your vids and listening to your podcasts for some time now. I never really got into soft plastics (more into shore jigging) but ive been wanting to get into soft plastics. With rods, I know most models are generally around that 7ft range but have you had any experience with longer lengths in the 8ft+? Id imagine youd get a good cast but compromise on the finesse? Keen to hear your thoughts. If you have any suggestions on a mid-range setup, thatd be awesome.
Awesome, the guest podcasts or the beginner lure series? Yes, I find the longer rods lack crispness and ability to twitch quickly or deliberately slowly is diminished. Short rods in general just feel nicer to use and 7' is by no means short, it's just shorter than 8 but then you could argue 8' is shorter than 9' and the same thinking applies. 7 foot is an alrounder for the best of both worlds. What is your budget?

Hey shroom gotta say I love watching your videos bro learnt a couple things as well I just want to ask about spots ! So I go fishing with the misses here and there we both love our fishing can you recommend any wharfs that won’t be packed or least where we can fish ? I really want somewhere that I can get yakkas then throw a live yakka out for a jewy ? Please bro it would mean alot I usually go Clifton gardens but kinda bored from there haha
Thanks for the kind words. Realistically, most spots will be popular because wharves are very convenient to fish, especially good spots. You can throw a live yakka out at any spot, doesn’t have to be a wharf either. Clifton is an S tier spot and really other choice would be to try some of the harbour wharves within say 5km of the harbour bridge. Take your pick, you’ll catch amazing fish!

Would you say theres much difference in a soft plastics from zman etc compared to Temu stuff? Probably yes but I think for metal casting lures and metal vibes etc you get way better value for money buying it from temu, ali express etc.
I guess it depends Denis, they were all from different shops/places and some where better/worse than others. Quality control isn't close so you get what you pay for

No I haven't Denis, I order one pack of the prawns (still yet to arrive), maybe I should have also checked out the grubs too
@@ShroomFishing the grubs have fallen under the radar for now but will become popular I think. They have the moving legs similar to holt prawns combined with the usual grub tail. Worth checking out

Exposed sand bank looking for lizards lol pay to get heaps of goodies and try in places ya never expect to find specials like I found . Shit just as good as a lotto win .
