I saw a video where a trout got into a snag and the dude threw a rock near the spot to flush it out. It actually worked. Went for a run of its life and still managed to get the fish
Interesting, might try that but these snags are more like sunken trees so a few seconds gets them totally wrapped up

@@ShroomFishing I caught a big bully mullet with a gulp worm right in front of my feet in the shallows of Lake Moore (1km upstream from you). It must have been mroe angry than hungry. There's great fishing up there, just can't eat it!

This is why i love your vdeos. I used to fish this area as a kid in the 80's. It still looks the same but all we used to catch (with bait) was mullet and big eels. What a nostalgia trip.
Thanks Bob, these areas have their own charm and it's where I started fishing. I hope these areas stay more or same because it has a bit of that unspoilt feel to it still

Great video Shroom! Looks very EP ish up there , would be careful there in warmer parts of the year - black snakes love stuff like that ! If you are going to look up into the trees for birds keep your mouth closed - those bastards can aim a flying turd pretty accurately 🤣🤣🤣

Shroom I have tried fishing with soft plastic and still no results how come? Gear 3 inch gulp Breen paddle tail with 1/0hook 1/6oz at bribie island pumicestone passage
It's a bit slower this time of year Filip but I assure you that you can still get good fish. I think to get the best out of gulps at this time of year you can pause the lure on the bottom more often in the retrieve and reduce how virgorous you move the lure. See how that goes, I reckon it will sort you out!

I don't think it's possible, I have generally used way heavier leaders (14lb), at least not in structure maybe on the flats

@@felixfelicis5574 I'd go heavier but most braids break well their rating, so even if its rated at 6lb, it's somewhere in the 10lb+ range
