Another great session on the Parramatta River, Shroom. Those stingrays really pull hard mate and a nice little Jewie and flathead, lovely.
I appreciate it Wayne, that stingray was pulling unreasonably hard toward the end. I should have realised what it was when it was grinding out several metres still when in close. The jewie was a complete surprise, in fact, an actual fish on the end of that cast surprised me haha

u do it in nearly all of your videos and i respect you so much for it shroomy boi and that is releasing the fish not many people realise how important it is to release fish even ones that arent big breeders its ok to keep one or two decent sized fish every now and then but people need to know that if they go out there and keep 5 or 10 fish that its not healthy for a waterway and the fish cant keep breeding if there isnt enough mates for them. love you work mate 🤙

Awesome video, well done. There is decent fish floating about now...
Only thing I'd suggest is open that bag of squid and put one piece each in a sandwich bag and freeze, then put it in a small ice box. That way you only take out what you use, the rest stays nice and cold and can be put back in the freezer at home for future use. Saves wastage. Saves money 💸

Yeah that would be preferable, I just edit it to fill the screen usually so that sort of helps a bit
To hold the bait in a more natural position , before you tie on your main hook pass the trace/leader thru a smaller hook (same pattern as main but strong ) from the barb side not from the back so it runs up n down the mono. Tie on your main hook.
Pass main hook thru the bait, slide keeper hook down to bait take one or two twists around the
shank of keeper hook then pass thru tip of squid bait. Stops bait bunching up and you will be amazed how many fish you will hook on the keeper hook that you mightve missed before.
Good idea Matui, sounds like measuring up the spacing beforehand then finishing the top snelled hook once bait is in place.
Similar except keeper hook is not fixed/tied to leader. Extremely effective rig. Got a 14kg Kingie on a 1/0 Black Magic keeper hook using that rig.

With the keeper not being fixed one rig is suited to a huge range of different type and length baits.
Keeps long strip baits straight so they sit more natural in the water.

Hey shroom some great jews this vid. I’m thinking of buying a bassday sugapen, just wondering which size you would recommend and what size treble hooks to put on.
Thanks Zaino, I recommend the 70mm for bream, whiting and general light fishing. Trebles, I like the stock if I want a chance at something bigger but most people these days swap to Ecogear stinger hooks or such for a better hookup rate at the expense of lesser surface explosions. For trebles, anything sharp in around a size 12 is how I would go about it for bream or whiting

Just a lot of time and patience. I have a lot of donuts as well but that’s the nature of chasing bigger fish, it’s less frequent. You’ll get success soon, it can happen on any session

Yeah it seems like once you get one, there are many in the area. Luckily they sort of cleared out after a short period. The easiest way to tell is as you said, if it seems to get stuck or won't come up.
