That's such a huge improvement. That pantry cupboard is certainly in an awkward place; I'd be tempted to just drywall over it since you've created so much extra storage. Adding the lift so the drawers operate smoothly is just the thoughtful step you can be counted on to do. That's a pretty space.
Beautiful bright breakfast corner. Love the extra Nordli storage. I would only add a recessed handle to the pantry door, which could be more comfortable to sit against.
Great use of space. Kitchens are always difficult. When you move in you think, " what can I do to make this space work?" When you just spent all of your savings to purchase the house. Way to help, Christina and dad.
Last fall, I repurposed a Nordli window seat bench (2x2 long drawers side by side) into a dining nook and ran into the same issue you did - the Nordli was too tall for the table. It didn't occur to me to remove the thick bottom board. [facepalm] Thank you for that idea!!! This weekend we flipped that puppy over, replaced the board with 1/4" scrap plywood as you did so the drawers clear the floor, and now the bench functions perfectly in relation to the table. So good! Thank you! #loveyourchannel
Looks beautiful, your sister is going to enjoy her new space for a very long time. I would like to do something like it in my kitchen just with less decorating pillow. Great job.
Would love a follow up video on exactly how you dealt with the pantry: how many inches did you trim the door, did you have to remove the bottom hinge, how hard is it to acess the bottom shelf of the pantry? Great idea beautifully executed.
It's gorgeous! Such a clever use of space to make it useful and beautiful too. I'm sure your sister and brother in law will enjoy it every day. Not just good to look at but so much extra storage too! Ingenious.😊👍💕
Gorgeous! Love it! I was looking for a solution for a dining nook in a 1973 aframe style home that my husband and I are renovating, so glad I came across your video!
Super cute, tons of storage. It's perfect for that corner. Light fixture - You mentioned there's none above the table. What about the ones that aren't hard wired, the puck lights operated by a remote in a cute pendant light, she could add later. Nicely done!
I love this! As always, Christina, you did a beautiful job with this makeover!!! I'm not big on bright colors, but I really like how this all came together! The colors work so well together! Thanks for sharing! Much love to you and yours from Virginia ❤
What a charming kitchen nook! I really appreciate how much functionality you gave to this small space. Well thought out and well executed! Thanks for sharing!
This looks gorgeous! Your sense of design, your attention to detail and your sense of colour really stand out. Your sister must love having your input and expertise. Seriously well done!
LOVE the blue color. 😍 I wonder if it would’ve worked to take the board and batten up to the height of the pantry door, and space it out the same width as the door. Then the pantry could completely disappear! Maybe. That extra height may have looked weird?? 🤔🤷🏻♀️ Looks great as is!
Beautiful, bright, and fresh. So are you painting the kitchen cabinets now? It kind of looks like two different kitchens, if you know what I mean. So exciting having a new home to make your own, congrats to your sis and brother-in-law! 🤗
@@thediymommy It matters that they love it! I am really happy they could get a home to call their own. I have two kids around your age and to see young people be able to buy these days makes my heart happy. Living in the Okanagan is impossible for my kids to ever buy their own home, which is sad. Again congrats to your sis and her hubby, all the best. 🙂
Seriously stunning, and the IKEA hack is so clever. Just wondering if you had looked at any options to replace the handle on that little pantry door? It just looks like an injury waiting to happen to me. Unfortunate location for it, but you did a great job making it still functional with everything built around it.

Thank you! ❤
You did a phenomenal job on this! What a nice family affair; your dad and you working together to give something special to your sister.
Thanks so much!
I could totally see a 70’s style swag light over the table! Such a beautiful makeover!!!!
Lucky sister! What a beautiful transformation!

Thank you! The pantry is well used and still needed, so they're going to keep it.
@@thediymommy is there a possibility that the pantry door be placed on the other side? It looks like there is a room behind the kitchen/dining room(?)
Beautiful bright breakfast corner. Love the extra Nordli storage.

Yes, Ice Rink by Behr.

Absolutely gorgeous ! So clever and all your hard work .
A small door knob may save people bumping/leaning into it in the corner 😊
