I got these cabinets from IKEA and built it onto the wall to transform it into a custom piece of cabinetry! This is one of my most proud moments, when I built this window seat with my own two hands! I would never consider myself a carpenter or builder but dang, after this I AM AND YOU CAN DO IT TOO! I sourced all my materials in my blog, linked below.

Upon unboxing, I was immediately upset at how the rails were very noticeably bent. But I kept going, all tools needed to assemble were included ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxqtX4Dxs6aecAZEuz6GY5-d81YecKCshn and I had it set up in about 30 minutes. Honestly I love this thing, make sure to read the measurements and measure your space so you know if it'll work for you. I bought this to put inside my closet, underneath where I hang my clothes and it is absolutely perfect! It is VERY sturdy and all drawers glide easily and mine are stuffed, and they are still flush when closed.
I was looking for a diy window seat build and the first video I found was a professional carpenter. Then I stumbled upon this video. This is much more my speed! And you have a kid running around you the entire video. I will be making this. Thank you!

Thanks for the inspiration! I'm attempting this right now in my own home with the EKET cabinets (4 with drawers under the window, and two cabinets in the corner with 4 open for bookshelves above. It's a former kitchen window so it's up high, but this should give some coziness to the converted room that it lacks now.

Not just strong it is very strong because you can cleary see it is supported by the 2 x 3 lumber he put between the boxes, so watever you will do in it even jumping is ok because the load will not go to the boxes itself but to the lumbers.
It does look strong. But it is too heavy for RV construction. Weight is a big consideration when building an RV.

nearly every diy UA-camr cuts so many corners or doesn't actually know how to do things the right way the first time. I was pleasantly surprised by your knowledge of building the frame and finishing and fixing issues like the door hinges. so good and so professional looking. can't wait to see more!

This looks so good, for anyone thinking of doing this I would recommend screwing the framing to studs if you want to keep it permanently and I would also use a rubber hammer on the window frame. just some extra advice, this looks excellent though.
