I've been running these tunes in my '06 5.9L (back when it was MM3). I love the 12 valve tunes. I also like the tow tunes with the different shift points.
So you can run a 12v tune on a 24v I’ve had my 24v5.9 for almost a year so I don’t really know much
@@trip6702 this is 5-9 Diesel's video (formally mm3) explain his 12v tune. I like the 12v tunes. I tow with the 12v tune as I found it pulls a little better over the regular tow tune.

@@trip6702 Yes, that's what these are...
Basically the 24v CR has 3 injection sequences. 1 is to quiet the engine. 2 is your power injection. 3 is to heat the exhaust for the CAT. (I may have the order wrong) The 12v removes the 1st and 3rd injections so you just have one. Helps with fuel economy and that's what give it the sound because its removing the injection that quiets the engine
my trans shift hard on the eco tune and shifts are erratic but the other tunes are awesome and shift great ive been running robs tunes for 2 years now ive dropped in some bbi 0.5 sticks about 10k miles ago still smoke more than perfer but im averaging 15 mpg now i was at 10 mpg before tuning 2006 dodge ram 3500 DRW
Mine is built so the shifts are going to be a little harder than a factory trans . I like the ability to turn overdrive off with the tow haul button . Really no complaints about the tunes so far
Smarty jr vs these mm3 tunes? My truck is totally stock performance wise, would just like to wake it up a little. The smarty jr is $500. What did this set up run you (if you dont mind disclosing) second question, my truck is manual swapped with an nv4500, im assuming the ecm has been reflashed because there is no gear indicator being lit up on the dash, would the 5-9 guy be able to help me out do you think

Maybe I missed it in the video but what’s your truck setup like? Any fuel/air mods? Looking into getting a tune package from 5-9. I’m all stock except for built transmission.

Truck is bone stock fuel with just an intake so basically a completely stock truck but wow what a difference his tunes made.

So when you first order his tunes you tell them what mods are done. At the time this truck was stock. 4inch exhaust and intake was it. This truck is getting a turbo, injector, intake fuel setup soon so they when will ask for a revised tune. Sorry if that’s hard to understand but basically your first set of tunes are technically “custom” but without sending datalogs back and forth he’s not really changing anything
