Vanessa, you did a great job on this video, and you've done a great job on prepping your food supplies. You're lucky to be living in Germany because you don't have natural disasters to worry about that other people do. You don't have hurricanes, you don't have earthquakes, you don't have tsunamis, you don't have wildfires. You're lucky that your houses are almost all made out of noncombustible materials so fires can not spread from one house to another easily.
It is great that you showed using the bigger plastic containers for items. When I buy bulk rice, or anything else in bulk, I always put several large seasoning containers, salt, and pepper, in with the bulk food. That way, I know there's something in there to season it when I have to use it. I know you are ready for what is coming to the planet this winter. Millions of people will not be ready.

You offered a lot of great recommendations in this video, Vanessa. I keep a lot of the same items on hand like those packets of Knorr rice and pasta, beef and chicken bouillon, as well as cans of tuna and chicken breast.
Pretty much any food kept in storage for a long time might become contaminated with bugs, as you mentioned. I worked for twenty-six years in the grocery business and can attest to the importance of rotating your stock so that you always have fresh stuff on hand when it's needed most.

Buying food for long term is part of the solution. My advice is to get a gas/multifuel stove and adonised alumunium camping pots. The aluminium camping pots get very hot with just a little flame and you can buy a potset for about £11. My pots look like a child's playset, but my 227g gas cans can last me for a week per can. I also use petrol as I have multifuel and 450ml petrol can last me about 1 week. 28x Gas cans will last about 6 months, as will 10 litres of petrol. If I have no access to hot water boiler, a can might be used in about 4 or 5 days. I have experimented this week with the gas can and after 5 days (2 hot meals cooked a day) I have over 50% of the fuel left in the cartridge. Aluminium pots are cheap from ebay and save a fortune on fuel as the pans get far hotter with far less flame. As far as I am concerned, it is no use having food if you cannot afford or have no means to cook it (power blackouts); that is why the multifuel stove and aluminium pots are a definate must have. Cooking also with a gas/multifuel stove makes heat for the house.

To be prepared for any crisis is something that takes a lot thought , dried food will take a lot of water so if you have land then a stand pipe for underground stream water would be needed, the dates on tins , packets, and jars need to kept an eye on , knowing how to grow crops and farm curtain animals would be important knowledge and food must be kept and stored for them , in a war type crisis you keep your food safe because an army will raid for food if they know its there in that home as we have seen in the recent conflict, interesting video with a lot of thought to it . Owen ..

This is what we call food pantry, growing up. I live in area of the Amish community and interact with them and Mennonites they do alot of canning and storing because of the lack of refrigeration and electricity, where when I was in high school, I use to install water softener kits for their water wells that run on generators and work along side them on several construction sites. Many of them do use cell phones for work related and emergency issues these days but they do still have their home phones only outside and in homemade phonebooths because it is a distraction from their everyday life and chores. One thing is when the Amish women are in public settings, and outsiders are around they will usually speak in german dutch language that has its similarities... Fijne avond! ☕😎🤘

Good info Vanessa, but like all prepping it only last so long once you have to eat or drink it, getting to know the land to dependency, what is where, when it is there and what meals can be made from it is also good to know, if not a lot better. Shops will shut and adventally close, if not looted in the meantime, where nature doesn't stop for anyone unless we all have a very major problem coming up.

Basil leaves or oxygen eaters in containers will kill any moth larve. Basial acts as an oxygen eater. You cam buy oxygen eaters online. Basil leaves cover every 2 inches of food depth. Cover layer should be 80% in leaves. Many videos online about how to do it.

Excellent video - I see that a lot of emergency foods have lots of sugar - What about diabetics who can only have limited or no sugar - I haven't seen this topic brought up anywhere or I may have missed any answers.

Vanessa, I noticed your beautiful hair is different. I noticed the blue eye shadow as well. I like it.
If you are storing large amounts of food I agree with you. You need to list: (1) Food type; (2) Quantity; (3) Expiry date. Food which is sealed wet, or in liquid generally has a shorter shelf life than dry food. The cupboard you store them in needs to be selected with care as you said: (1) No gaps to prevent entry of insects, eg, moths (not butterflies Vanessa!); (2) Proof against entry of vermin (rats and mice -- although you shouldn't have vermin in your home); (3) Correct temperature and humidity to prevent fungal attack. I noticed you did not have many cereals, eg, tropical granola.I checked out the price of a medium sized tin of corned beef. A year ago it cost £0-99. This week, the same tin was £3-50. That means a 350% increase in price due to inflation. So you don't want to buy too many of these.
Remember the water storage. Storage in 2L bottles is convenient. Oh yes, I forgot chocolate and a few bottles of Auslese, and for Vanessa, a crate of Bavarian beer.
Have you just been out on a date Vanessa, or are you about to be taken out, as you look as though you are just getting ready. Regards xxx.

Long term, f' water being "fresh/pure" since we have fire to boil to cook. My brain is a boy scout's. Is it edible?

Never forget sugar and salt. Those will store indefinitely.
You can not beat the energy content sugar has.
