I have this amp it's incredible probably the best shared EQ of all other amps I own... The Noise Gate is awesome I can't believe why every amp doesn't have a built-in Noise Gate great video Jared
If we ever get together, I can bring my 25 watt 6l6 and we can compare. I have quite a few amps and the 25 watt fireball is one of my favorites. Plus they didn’t make it look like a lunchbox❤️
Just curious, My nephew sold me his Peavey Penta 140 amplifier really cheap. It’s unusably loud for any crunch. It’s fun to let it rip for a few seconds once in a while, but I end up using the tree setting and a tubescreamer at lower volume to get any crunch. All that said, why would you actually want a 100 watts amplifier?
I used to ask the same Q. With modern high gain tones, you want the gain coming from the preamp with a clean power amp. With 100 watts, you have more clean headroom in the power amp. You don't actually use anywhere near all that power to generate sound.
@@voxpathfinder15r ...yes, but you don't want any breakup from the power section, none. This is what headroom is. A 100 watt amp will have more headroom and sound better even at low volume.
I put KT77s and it made a big difference with my 3120 that came stock with EL34s. I also changed out the preamp tubes to less gainy ECC83/82s as well as the inverter to make it feel less stiff. It’s perfect now. I can actually get a more vintage crunch and a modern lead. BTW the clean channel is essentially a Fender Deluxe. Just scoop the mids, boost the bass and treble, and finish it off with some verb and you really can tell. Now I want this amp!
I like the tones tou get, they don't sound as thin, shrill, and over-tight like some other examples on UA-cam. You got some balls in the bass and some sizzle in tha fashizzle!
Thanks for the video. I’ve just ordered this amp and l’m very curious to try it out in person. I wish to watch somebody doing a comparison between 6L6 and KT77 version.
Great video ! Just got my kt77 today and I think it kicks some ass. I had the fireball 100 and the 6l6 fireball 25. Not sure how much difference there is between the two 25 watters but I really like this kt77 model. I found the Deadweald duality dx sounded better to me over the odd box. With that said I didn’t spend a lot of time with the odd box. So definitely going to circle back to it. It wasn’t that the odd box wasn’t good. Just didn’t grab me right away. Every cab and guitar I had sounded great with this amp. Very happy with it. Great alternative when I don’t want to hit the 100 watt heads.
Thanks for commenting. Yeah, I was surprised at how great it sounded even with the gain cranked. It's all usable. A lot of times with amplifiers, when you crank the gain all the way up, it gets really muddy. On this amp, it all sounds good
Man I have the Fireball 100 and it is by far my favorite ENGL amp for drop tuned chuggin and shreddin. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS you see what I'm saying about that amp and drop tuned guitars OMFG man. Any guitar I have tuned to C or higher go to the Stealth, but that amp is a deathcore MONSTER!!!!
Could you please explore more this amp without mid boost and with lower amount of gain? Also comparison with 6L6 would be very handy. Thank you for covering this amp :)
New to your channel, late to the party, and SUBSCRIBED! I am new to electric guitar and loving the chug life! I will check your channel more, but I am wavering between the Fireball 25 or the Fireball 100, which should I get? Is the 100 $1000 better sounding than the 25? I will soon be using a Mesa Boogie Traditional 4x12 cab if that helps and I am playing an ESP MH-1000. I'm still learning on my Katana practice amp/cab but I am so in love with this chug that I don't want to save money where I should spend it for futureproof quality, as I get better dream of playing even 1/4 as well as you. Please, which should I get? P.S. Found your video when you were making a decision between the ENGL Savage and the Fireball 100. I see the shelf is missing the Fireball 100 now... is that a bad sign or just a choice or is the Savage that much better. Sorry for all the newb ranting. Just excited and you must know how hard it is to chase the Tone as a new guy~!
Hello, and thanks for subscribing and for the kind words. To your question, the Fireball 100 is a great amp. It's fuller/thicker sounding than the 25 watt. I prefer the Savage, but we all like different things. I honestly think that the 25 will be an excellent starter amp for you!!
Do you still own the fireball 100 I was wondering what your thoughts are comparing the two I'm very happy with the fireball 25 but have not played The 100
I'm pretty sure he either didn't own that one and took it back to Motor City after the demo was over, or he sold it. I remember he did a keep it or sell it video on that one.
I have a video suggestion if your interested. Mesa 2x12 vs engl 2x12. I know they both have vintage 30s but sound different in their respective way. I currently have an arachnid cab 4x12 with vintage 30s but want something easier to transport around for jamming with friends
I have a Mesa 2x12 vertical and decided pick up an Engl 2x12 vertical, huge difference. The Engl cabs pairs incredibly well with the fireball 25, huge low end punch, the tone change was instantly recognizable, the high frequencies were much more tame.
Damn. I didnt get any of that stuff with mine . I sent mine back , lots of noise even with gate full . I believe something happened during shipping because it sounded like crap.
Engl makes great amps, i'd pick a 100 watt fireball any day. But I dont really see the point to the 25 watt version when you can get the MT15 for half the price.
The point? I almost went with an MT-15, it’s a great one however, I’m glad I waited , I prefer everything about this a little bit more. Everything 🤷🏼♂️
Put the mxr 10 banned in the loop it's so amazing I know you have one Jared keep that in your back pocket you should try one with every amp when you get time

i want a fireball 25, sounds absolutely killer
Sounded amazing with the Odd Box. Pound for pound ENGL might be the best amp company going. Great stuff, Jarrod.
love the Engl fireballs
I had the 6L6 version of this amp and the key was to crank the mids to at least 6/10. Great video Jarrod and keep up the good work.
So glad you got to play an amp with KT77s. Definitely my favorite power tube! The Fireball 25 sounds great!! Excellent video!!
He has a savage, if I'm not mistaken that has kt77 tubes in it.
That would be partly why I want the KSR PA50. It takes 3 kinds of tubes, including the KT77s.
@@seannicholes No, the Savage120Mk2 has two 6550 power tubes in it. I'm capturing one right now into my Quad Cortex.
@@nashmanzl I just got a KSR PA50, Mike, and it kicks ass. I put KT77s in it, and I'm loving it!
@@fluxxliveband okay. Thanks for the correction. I could have sworn somebody said it did. I know the 60 watt has different tubes.
yep, that’s the next one on the list. I love these small amps with full-size tubes. They’re fucking amazing. Great video man
I like if you tried the 6l6 version. To hear your thoughts on that. Great video you rock 🤘

I picked this amp up recently and absolutely love it. Unbeatable tone!
One of the best 25 watters ive heard. Makes me want to get the fireball 100 that Ive been eyeing for a while now

i have wanted to buy one since early this month cant wait too hear it
After seeing the demo of the mud killer on your channel I bought one it works so well with switching channels on this amp it is my go-to drive pedal
i've got this amp. It's fantastic.. Your setting is so loud!!! Great video again.

I got it. It’s a beast! If it also had a reverb it would be a dream amp.
Hello is the amp hi gain?
My next amp for sure.
Sehr sehr schöner Amp und ein super super Sound. 👌🍀🤘🍀🔥🍀🎸
That's a nice sounding clean.
Put a BBE Sonic Stomp in the loop with a ten band eq. It becomes a whole different amp. Trust me.

“and LOOK AT THESE GUNS!” 😂

Thanks for making video. I’m torn between this and the Soldano Astro.
I have both. Engl is better for high gain and Astro is more versatile, better crunch, and more refined. Both have surprisining excellent cleans.
