The video here features the BGW210 Modem but some of the concepts will apply even if you have a different model.

My router drops so badly resetting or unplugging doesn’t work. Iw ish att routers were like t mobile a router and a plug and no annoying wires.

It would be nice to know ahead of time before ATT comes out to connect fiber to my house, what it all details. I must not have any interruptions in service and keep all my passwords and Wi-Fi connections the same.

I moved and can’t get the router to work. AT&T keeps giving me the run around. They’ve come outside to “do work” but refuse to send a technician in my house. I really don’t understand. After a week and 1/2 they are now sending a tech. But I don’t even trust they will show up as they were supposed to this morning but never showed up.
    What could be the problem?

AT&T says I have 1000 mbps speed. My network ethernet card reader is 100 mbps. Should I change it to get the full speed?

Is it possible your network adapter is limited to 100Mbps?

AT&T Fiber is not U-verse. U-verse is copper to the demarc, not fiber. With U-verse the fiber goes only as far as b-box feeding your neighborhood , then goes out the home on copper telephone lines

I have U-Verse but I don't have a fancy box on the house or the ONT box either. My internet download speed is only 2mb I pay for 50mb! Don't have that fancy power supply box either. I wonder if AT&T needs to revisit my installation and upgrade it to work properly.

If you don't have an ONT, you don't have AT&T Fiber. The U-Verse brand was the successor to the old DSL technology from what I remember. Its still DSL, but they don't call it that anymore. As a matter of fact, AT&T dropped the U-Verse brand and just call it AT&T Internet.

this is a old install you need to call and ask for a BGW 320 modem newest modem we have has wifi 6 ax vs the one you have now that is wifi 5 ac. Also the new modem the 320 the fiber plugs straight into the modem and you can get rid of that power supply box

Thank you for sharing. I'll have to give them a ring and see if I can refresh my equipment. This install is almost 4yrs old, so that .awesome sense. 👍☺

I'm so frustrated I'm trying to fix broadband the light blinks red which indicates that there's a connection problem but I tried so many solutions I tried swapping cords, resetting the whole router, unplugging everything and nothing still works and that I called AT&T but the response was I'm sorry we cannot help you for that would you like me to take you to a technical supporter and they didn't answer

The power adapter might be bad. Probably best to just call them to get someone out. Good luck. 🙂

🥴that install. Please do not tinker around in that grey box outside. One of those wires could be live and if you touch the exposed copper you will be sad. And if you break the fiber it’s possible the entire line will need to be replaced.

definitely agree - don't mess wit that fiber! As for the copper, it does have SOME voltage on it, but not much. Worst case if you're holding on to the bare copper wire when the line is ringing - you'll definitely feel that. But I work with live phone lines all the time, never had an issue.

Totally agree with most of what you said. Especially thr part about the LEDs being so much better for batt life. In my opinion, the argument for keeping the incandescent bulb is that it's a different kind of light ( has different properties). For instance. When I am working on wiring in a dark space ( usually the plenum space above the ceiling titles) the incandescent light allows me to see color better. Anyway, that's me. ☺

    dude wtf is this
lmao this is the worst ftth fiber connection ive ever seen
my att fiber was just an aerial fiber cable from the pole behind my house that goes to a node on the run for my neighborhood THAT GOES STRAIGHT THROUGH A HOLE IN THE WALL OF THE BUILDING INTO A FIBER BOX which the fiber box was really small the size of my hand then a thinner fiber cable with a different color would go straight to the nokia modem which had a build in fiber to ethernet converter and I just plugged in my cat8e cable to the 2.5 gigabit port on the modem straight to my pc (idgaf about wifi I just want 0 ping latency on upstream and downstream to my pc no router needed for me)
