    This is so frustrating! Thanks for the video, Chris. I have the 210 one installed just yesterday and this is already happening to me. Such a pain to not be stood up by an AT&T technician.. and being charged if they do come.

    I had the BGW-210, called AT&t and I spoke to a very rude customer support agent when trying to get the different router. Finally got it today, plugged it in and it's already starting it's crap again. Thanks for the video, I tried everything to get this to work but I think it's better just to switch companies. I've been through this around eight times with them with no good results.

    Thank god for you posting this video. Same exact stuff, techs visiting and giving me crappy BGW210 routers and having the same exact issue on firmware updates. Didn't know about the 30sec reboot, thank you so much.

      @@ChrisColter Which one do you think is best? At initial install, tech guy hooked me up with a 210. Ran like crap and called him several times. He finally said the 5268 was a workhorse so I replaced new with old. Did pretty well for approximately 6 months, now same problem. Would you try a 210 again?

    Thanks for posting this. I had a U-Verse router for years that finally pooped out recently, and they sent me the 210. Didn't make it a week and it died. I immediately called and they want to send a tech out in a few days. Unfortunately the 30-second reset didn't work for me, and I tried it twice. It's still dead. I'm going to use this information and call them back to send me a router that's NOT a piece of junk.

    I'm still having problems with the 5268AC modem. Same issues has been going on for the past few weeks. They are going to finally send someone out as this last customer service tech advised that there was a problem with the incoming line (this has been and off and on issue the past 3 years). I am frustrated and I am about to go to the local internet once my boys leave for college (less gaming devices and laptops on the network 😆). Good video though as I have done all of those things in the past to resolve issues.

      BB Bunny sounds like the guy didn’t know how to solve it. I would call back and escalate the case. The problem is with their equipment. Either the modem or at the remote connection box down the street.

      and about every other ISP does the same! funny how the world is so dependent on the internet and is bottlenecked by ISP substandard business practice. I wonder why that is? maybe voting the wrong people in to office?

      @@fucheduck ur exactly right but also i might add ATT used to be a da majority ISP companies but gradually losing customers due to their transition into 5g meaning there recondtructing there towers to 5g compataility so thats the main reason so manny customers are suffering internet loss.smh which is way bigger picture to thier hidden agenda. Nevertheless if you jus take some time and educate one self,you can manipulate the isp dns server to get the most out of ur modem/router. People gotta understand that ALL SIGNALS comes from a SAT.

    I accidentally pressed the WPS button while cleaning and it keeps blinking. After rebooting for the 30 seconds, it went to black & the correct light's are starting to come back on. No more wps on. Thanks!!

    5268ac is known for having Wi-Fi issues. Had it swapped out for a 210 and it's been so much better since

    I have the 526 ...and I still have outages...I can only have one device in my home connected.....no phones or anything or my xbox would just disconnect.....what a terrible company

    I have to unplug the power cord from the outlet/wall wait about a minute and plug back in and it works, but I have to do that everyday sometimes three times a day agh!

      I had this problem as well , my friend told me to go in and update anything that can be updated and then do a shut down and restart it, it worked but I am not sure what needed to be updated as I did so many updates.

    I"m going to show this video to the AT&T tech when he arrives, they replaced my modem only a few weeks ago, however, I've been having issues with AT&T for the last 8 months and regardless that I've been with them for 14 years, there service has never been worse and I woldn't reccomend AT&T to my worst enemy.

    5268AC model sucks. It tooks more than 30 minutes to up including CVOIP + Quality Check will take 15 minutes if it's not up within that time frame probably get escalate to AERC team.

    I have the BGW210-700 that constantly disconnects wifi for about 30 seconds at a time (truly annoying). It happens especially on 2.4 GHz band. I will try this.

      .Im having the same problem with the same modem at my place, when i was younger living with my dad he had an older motorola modem and the same thing happened on it, after the service people coming out several times to no avail at my dads i just assumed it was just the shitty old phone lines in the town i live (rural oklahoma). Im gonna call and see if the modem is actually the problem (every modem at dads did the same but it usually was just when it rained). At my house it disconnects for 30seconds every few hours, sometimes multiple times per hour, raining or not. If anyone has resolved this problem please let me know! Thanks

    Ever since a new Internet company moved in my town. I been having a Internet trouble where are my Wi-Fi router keeps on resetting itself. Every time they do something around my neighborhood, my router keep resetting itself. I haven’t had that problem until that company did something. First time the AT&T guy said that that company stretch the line way too tight in it made my router reset itself. And that Internet company drove by down my street and my router started reset itself. So I called ATT and they gave me a new wi-Fi router and the new router is reset itself. I think that certain Internet company line is messing with the signal of the AT&T.

    I just want to let ya'll know if you're having these same issues and they come out to fix it more than 3 times, switch companies asap. My setup had been the same for 2 years without any problems. I swapped names in the account and they swapped out my modem and instead of using the existing att internet cable, the tech added a jumper box which makes absolutely no sense. The wire he replaced my original one with us about 250ft long whilst my modem is only about 30ft from the outside internet hook ups. Since 2019, I've had a total of 24 visits. That includes: 3 modem changes, 1 on-site update, 3 "wire fixes", and the rest were techs coming to tell me the internet was working fine at the time so they can't find the issues. I'm such a cuck for sticking with them still and not even asking for a discount. Don't be me! Get new internet.

    Since I had AT&T fiber optic installed my Wi-Fi sucks.
    It all started about Jun 3 2019. My WiFi started dropping out every 9 minutes. I have an app on my smart phone showing in graph mode when it drops out and how long.
    January 3 I called AT&T and talked to several ladies in the Philippians. They said they would send me a new router/modem like I have. It is the 210. She said it would be delivered in 2 days. I waited 4 days and called them back. They said they didn't know what happened and said it would be re-sent and I should have it in 3-4 days. Six days went by and I hadn't received it. I called them back again and they told me there was a product back-order and that's why I didn't get it.
    They sent me up to the 2nd level of tech support. I actually talked to someone breathing "Texas" air. He was in Dallas Texas or near there. He said he was going to send me a 5268AC router/modem. The same kind as I had when I was on U verse.
    I hooked it up and it also dropped Wi-Fi every 9 minutes. Now my OOMA (Voice over Internet phone) was not working right. It would dial out one ring and go dead. When someone called me the people calling me said it would ring and ring but no one would answer.
    I took the OOMA device to my computer lab and hooked it up to my work network and had a little Radio Shack phone hooked to it. I got a dial tone and made a phone call. It worked. I told the party I was talking to to call me back and they said they would. No problem I received the call. Now I know my OOMA was working. Now I know it's AT&T problem.
    I had a Cisco modem/router so I decided to hook it to the AT&T modem/router and hook both network cables from the OOMA to the Cisco router. I set up the Cisco router as an access point.
    The OOMA now is working OK. I could make and receive phone calls just fine.
    I still had the WiFi drop out every 9 minutes.
    I called AT&T today and they sent me to the highest level tech support in San Antonio. I said I was a ham radio operator. The lady said that's your problem. I told her why is that and my old DSL 5268AC router/modem worked OK along with my OOMA. She wanted to know if my radio was plastic or metal case. I told her my $ 2,500 radio was a metal case and it was grounded with 2-8' copper ground rods.
    I did notice now I had been getting 120mbps up and download. Now I am getting 96mbps down and 60mbps upload but my OOMA was working.
    The lady in San Antonio said "I have been working here 10 years" and have seen it all. Really......
    One person on UA-cam said the changed the channel on the AT&T Modem Router from auto-channel search to channel 5. I tried that and still having WiFi cutting out every 9 minutes.
    When Technology works it works.... when it doesn't we have a Malox moment.

      Holy cow! You have been through the ringer. I would be willing to bet that maybe your problem is originating off site, possibly at a switch or junction box of some kind. I feel for you. So sorry you are going through all of that!

      @@ChrisColter A couple days ago I noticed my internet speed dropped from 120 up and down to 90 down and 50 up.I made the mistake of calling AT&T again. I got a lady in San Antonio, Texas. At least she could speak Texan English.
      She wanted to know if I had my AT&T router/modem hooked to a UPS or surge protector. I told her I did. she said that's why your WIFI is dropping out. I told her when I had it into the wall it was dropping out the same way as it is now.
      She ask me what other equipment was the AT&T modem close to. I told her my Ham Radio station. Again she said Oh! that's why it is failing. She wanted to know if my ham radio was in a metal case or plastic. I told her that my $2,500 radio was in a metal case, grounded with copper grounding strap and the grounding strap was connected to two 6' copper ground rods driven 5'10" into the ground.
      I told her that the WIFI was disconnecting every 9 minutes and the frequency of my radio operations was 3.800 KHZ and I am not on the radio now.
      The difference between 3.800 KHZ and 2.4gig is far as the East is to the West.
      The next morning I turned on my computer and NO internet through the Ethernet cable. I traced it down to the Ethernet cable from the computer to the AT&T router.
      Now I have internet. I am still waiting to see if I have dropouts on WIFI.
      She is sending me a FREE WIFI extender. I told her if the WIFI drops out don't you think the extender will to?
      "When Technology Works it's good.... When it doesn't your screwed"

    Yahoo mad down for 10 seconds some like that or I play with 2 or 5 minutes I like to but I got the new bgw210 I had to get used to it because it got power and broadband and found in WPS with the bgw210 but I like it the other with all the lights on it.

    I have that exact model gateway and it goes down about twice a day for me. And it actually was two times today. I'm 95% sure its going crazy and failing when the update is sent to it.

      Usually when they die they don't come back to life. I would double check your connections, and call your provider. They probably have a newer model they can swap out and look for a bad connection at the same time.

    my techs do not give new modems. I have had to do a lot of persuading to get them to replace the last one. and it ended up being this 210! they usually just come out and are ready to spin around and go back to their truck when they get here! ATT is pathetic!

      Wow. That's bad. You need someone who is willing to dive in deep and figure out what is going on. I know they don't like losing customers, so maybe mention that you're considering switching to a competitor. At least ask for their supervisor.

    What's up how you doing I had that same modem what you talking about the first modem it kept on cutting all turning red they want to worry you need to come on way want to bad when I got back in March I got the new new AT&T Wi-Fi modem bgw210 AT&T I got that one back in mind but that's the same motor you had I love that more than that was a 2017 model I got that Wi-Fi modem back here when I got AT&T DirecTV and AT&T U-verse internet back and ID some of that a tour 2017 but I just had to replace back in March of 2024 the bgw210 cloud have a problem with that first modem now there's some as I a little bit now you got to plug it too much but I do want to know why do they do that why don't you have to reset them all the time I plug for 10 minutes and 10 seconds tell me why you got to keep on plugging it but now I got a new one the bgw210 from AT&T.

    U Verse SUCKS! My late relative was conned into getting it. My internet/landline phone/TV keep going out. It's Weird...I record the local news with no problem. But-when the national news comes on at 18:30 PM-NADA, and everything crashes. I have two big boxes from them and a little one with a reset button (modem...router??)

    I have that exact modem you have... That modem works for every other Wi-Fi object in the house but mine... Its getting rather bothersome as I do a lot of business online and cant really work without the internet. Now the kids PlayStation, iPad's, cell phones, laptops, Xbox one's all seem to work perfectly fine. My wireless network card can pick up my home modem and others within the neighborhood. But when I connect to mine I will have to enter the modem password yet again and this time it says "Secured, Connected, No Internet." I'm baffled and I get the same run around from AT&T.. I'm so close to switching to Xfinity

      Eric Peacock it sounds like you may be using an older laptop? If all other devices are working, I would suspect something is wrong with your device and not the modem. I would contact the manufacturer of your device and see if they can help you connect it, or troubleshoot it.

      That white cord actually goes into the green section of the modem, I just got mine today and of course I had to go into my router and change the Wi-Fi settings. If you have a custom Wi-Fi password what works for me is holding down the reset button for 30 seconds on the back and it converted to the default password and I had to go type my IP address and and change it back to custom on my modem for Wi-Fi to work. I did this with the ethernet cable hooked up to my Xbox and just did it on Microsoft edge. Hope some of this helps. It just recently shut off again and restarted so I don't know if this router is going to work either LOL

      The back is labeled. Ethernet goes to your computers, and on mine the DSL is where it comes out of the wall to the modem. If you also have a landline, it will plug into where it says "phone". Hope that helps.

    Mine keeps losing connection every 20 mins when I’m using it. I have to reconnect just so it can work. They lowered my speed cause they said that was the problem but it still happens.

      They came yesterday to check and they said all that was fine. Because it was their “latest” modem they had. Im most likely going to call again and be more persistent. I’m with att do you recommend anything?

      It mostly happens when I tried to play some games on my PS4. It did do it too on my computer til yesterday now it just happens with my ps4

      @@moisesperez4571 check and see if you have the BGW210. That is the one I had trouble with. You'll notice more problems with the PS4 because of the heavy bandwidth use. I would ask if there is a different model modem you can use. Try to get the problem to occur when the tech is there if you can. Be persistent. Not all technicians are created equal. Some are nicer and smarter than others. Keep pushing to get the problem fixed, and let me know how it goes and what fixes it for you. Good luck.

    My BGW210 came with firmware 1.3.12. It has not updated itself. Looks like att stopped pushing the 1.3.13 firmware which has the issues. Install was done about a week ago.

      Got updated to 1.5.12 Which broke the dhcps-dynamic pass through function and is blocking 1.1.1.1 . I've since gone the bypass method and have my firewall connected directly to the ONT after using the RGW to authenticate the connection. Everything works, inc. 1.1.1.1.

    This BGW210 is a piece of trash. Installed mine when I upgraded my service. It will not continuously stay connected to the gateway. It will work for 5 minutes and then disconnect from the gateway every few minutes.

      Jay Sal I did not. The modem has no storage capacity, so your programs must be stored in another device.

    When I unplug the modem it has one red light shows then in a few seconds a green light appears then it just stays one green light.When I go to sleep in a few hours it’s still one green light.

      NutHope if you just end up with one solid green light for the power light, then I would say you don’t have any service coming to the modem from your provider, or the modem is toast.

    i paid my bill , 3 days later the power went out and then when it came back it stopped working so it just lights up gets all the icons on and then goes back to the power icon which I’m saying it sets up then resets and I called and everything they said an technician will come in tomorrow but I doubt they’re going to fix it because spectrum just completely sucks

      Vintage sounds like it keeps resetting because of a firmware problem. The tech should be able to fix it.

    I reset my U-verse Wifi box or whatever for the whole 30 seconds and its been about 2 minutes after I reset it and the only light on is the Power light. What does that mean and how do I fix it?

      Not sure. It does take about 5 minutes for it to fully reset. You might try unplugging for 10 minutes it if it does not come back up. Otherwise you'll probably have to call AT&T.

      Adrian Marin* correct. If you don’t have service, nothing will work. I would call your provider. They may be able to troubleshoot it over the phone. The problem is probably on their end.

    At&T fiber keeps intermittently disconnecting. We got a tech last year and 2 days after he came the internet came back on. But the some days it would disconnect for 2-4 hours and then now it's not connecting at all. We've trouble shooted and changed modem ... time for 1year of xfinity -___-

      Hi Pamela, it sounds like your broadband is not connected. Find the red reset button on the back of the modem and push it, or unplug your Modem for five minutes, then plug it back in. See if either of these suggestions work, otherwise you'll have to call your provider.

      I've never seen the power light blinking. I would unplug the modem. Wait 10 minutes. Plug it back in and hit the reset button once you see all of the lights. If that doesn't work, call your provider.
