    Thanks for watching. Here is the exact kit we used: www.roughcountry.com/nissan-s...

    Thanks for posting, this was super helpful. Took myself and a buddy all of 2.5hrs to install. Only thing I would add is when doing the rear, it's easiest to place the jack under the tow hitch, making sure you get the back wheels off the ground. it will take a lot of the pressure off the leaf spring and make it easier to get it to move down. In my opinion it is the perfect lift height for the truck and is only $150... So, if you are on the fence, go get it and install it!

    I just did a few things: 1: Just purchased a Nissan Pro 4X
    2: Watched this video and subscribed for multiple reasons (that t-shirt and I’m thinking of putting a leveling kit on my truck. I’m a Buccos fan and still reeling from the ‘92 NLCS but love listening to the ballgame in the garage)
    3: Purchased a Z1 leveling kit.
    My worry is the factory UCA, bc I hear it can contact coil spring at full drop, whatever that means. Maybe I’ll replace with an adjustable UCA….
    Anyway, I’ll have a few Miller Lites or IC Lites when I tackle this project. Thank you and look forward to more of your videos.

    • @TheAdamConners
      @TheAdamConners  5 місяців тому

      Yea I’ve heard from multiple folks the Bucs nation is still salty over that slide. I don’t blame them either. But the Pirates look a ton better with this youth group they have coming in. Finally! Lol.
      The uca will hit the frame area that the strut mounts to. It does it not when you go over a bump (that causes upward travel) but more when you hit a pot hole ( downward travel of uca) or do some off roading.
      Personally I just drive knowing I need to be easy regarding the uca. But it is next on my list of mods. Mostly just so everyone can see the issue.
      Thanks for checkin us out and look for our cold air intake video coming up this week

    • @f5fstop
      @f5fstop 5 місяців тому +1

      Yes, the UCA will hit the bucket. The z1 off road model looks nice, so does the NISMO and I believe the NISMO does not have a ball joint that requires lubing every 5k miles, and about 100 less in price.

    What did you use to loosen the upper control arms other than socket wrench?

    • @TheAdamConners
      @TheAdamConners  11 місяців тому +2

      Well I am honored you would use your comment on us 😁. Actually I didn’t have to do anything to the upper control arms. I was able to use a pry bar to lift the control arms up to allow a little better clearance to the 3 bolts on the strut mount.
      However, since you are replacing the control arms anyways I would recommend a cheater bar on the ratchet if you are having problems using a socket wrench. If you don’t have sockets then a ratchet wrench maybe the next best answer. Closed end wrench lastly. You could use a cheater bar on both of those as well.

  • @f5fstop

    First, you DO NOT have to remove the upper ball joint from the spindle if ONLY removing the coilover assembly! However if dong a two inch lift (basically any block lift over 1.5" for sure, you will get coil bucket contact so new upper control arms need to be replaced. And if replacing UCAs you do need to pull the spindle, do I have to note that?

      @@TheAdamConners Hey just wanted to post an update on my post. So what I said initially was true, it worked, but it was for a smaller spacer than yours. Today I installed the Nismo kit, which had a slightly taller spacer than my first one. You definitely need to loosen, *but not remove* the upper control arm nut. That gave me enough room to get the strut and spacer through. I had to use a pry bar to align the bottom strut mount. It was the biggest pain, anyway, sorry for the novel, but just wanted to post an “amendment” to my original post

    Adam, I was watching your video as I'm more than likely going to be getting a 2023 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X. When you placed that Rough Country 2.5 inch Lift Kit it looks like the angle is going to be putting a lot of stress on the upper control arm. Any time you are replacing components especially with aftermarket parts I always try to upgrade any suspension parts that are part of the core components especially if they are going to be in added additional stress above and beyond what the original parts were designed for. I was a mechanic in the Army for years and have dealt with the added abuse from suspension systems, etc. I would look at possibly getting a set of the Z1 Off-road front upper control arms and add them to your truck as well. It can save you a lot of time down the road not to mention frustration in case you have a component fail due to added stress. Better to address it up front than deal with it down the road and possibly have even more damage to deal with at that point.

    • @TheAdamConners
      @TheAdamConners  11 місяців тому +2

      🫡 Thank you so much for your service, sir. That means so much more than your viewing the video, and we are very thankful for that also. So yes is the answer to your question. If you have any concerns about contact with the strut mount and the control arm then absolutely go ahead and install the Z1 off-road or other aftermarket UCAs. For me I don’t, or haven’t yet went off road. I drive daily and only time I have to be careful is speed bumps. I don’t drive over them at 50mph, I slow down to avoid excessive travel of the suspension so I don’t have to worry about that contact we mentioned. I have had ZERO issues thus far. Thanks again buddy!

    How bad is the coil bucket contact with those stock uppers

    • @TheAdamConners
      @TheAdamConners  4 місяці тому

      Not bad at all if you are mindful of the issue. My view is this: you should be planning on doing the upper control arms anyways, so what’s the problem with riding on the stock ones in the meantime?

    One question...weren't your cambers misaligned?

    • @TheAdamConners
      @TheAdamConners  6 місяців тому +1

      Yes, this will add positive camber, and you will need camber bolts.
