I've been a bit hesitant to dig too deeply into this little box, these videos are very helpful to me. Thanks for taking the time to make them. They sure packed a lot into something so small and reasonably priced.
Thank you for the video and the whole series! There is so much to learn about Headrush MX5 as a new user, especially without having prior pedalboard experience (have been using Hugh Kettner Grandmeister 40 with all the effects built into the tube amp till now). Therefore I cannot express enough how important videos as yours are, where I can concentrate on one functionality at time and understand it fully (just watched all 3 parts) instead of just going through everything at the same time. The amount of combinations you can create in such a small device is a blessing and a curse in the same time. You need such a big knowledge about EQ settings, amps, all specific effects, functionalities and their "proper" place in the whole loop etc. that it makes it extremely difficult and discouraging to start, especially if you cannot afford to spend the whole day sitting in front of it.. But the more videos I watch the more excited I get and it just doesn't stop :D
That's awesome! I appreciate you sharing that! ❤️ I plan on doing more because like you said there is a ton of functionality in this little unit and it just sounds great.
Damn I have been on HR for 3.5 years, many gigs and I have been switching rigs during songs. Scenes is way more natural feeling and offers more control. Now to basically redo my entire pedal...
thanks great lesson! question I'm using 3 different scenes with the 3 buttons avaliable, it seems everytime I want to change the distorsion of one scene, it moves to all the other scenes, is there any way to avoid that?
@willowil1 Thanks for the kind words! Every time you activate a scene with a new effect or amp, it shouldn't change the other scenes; the changed distortion in your case should be confined to that scene. that is odd if I understand your question. I wish I could be of more help.
Excellent video!!! I have a question, it's possible to create different presets from one amp , I been struggling with that. Thanks from bariloche argentina.
Yes it's possible to create different presets for one amp! Absolutely! I would recommend after you set the amp for one setting you like then name it starting with the amp name followed by a phrase that relates to that setting. I will be doing a video next on how to do bass amps in the MX5 and within that you'll see how I go from a clean tone to a dirty tone with one amp, manipulating the amp using scenes and different presets all under one rig and amp.
@Prior 'Witness thank you very much!!! Watching your videos now I learn how to start to use the scenes on my rigs, and all your videos are really helpful. 👌
Awesome vid, thanks a lot… Got a question tho, when changing scenes that have different presets (or changing rigs) it had a glitch, really tiny bit, for it has to unload whatever preset you got on and load back whatever different preset you chose. Have they got it “fixed”? Thanks once again!!
Thank you so much! I've noticed that same "glitch" myself. So I've started to limit how many preset changes I'm making in each scene. I'll be keeping an eye out for the next firmware update where I hope we get a few fixes to include this one.
When you selected a preset that you "created earlier", what steps were taken in order to create that custom preset? Did you do that in an environment where you were creating a new rig? I guess my question is what's the simplist way to create a custom preset for a pedal or amp?
It's a good question because there really isn't a right or wrong answer. For me the majority of the time I create a rig or preset from scratch because for me that is the simplest way. For some effects I will slightly tweak the preset and save over the preset.

Thanks a lot, I almost buy a midi footswitch because I need more switches, but with this.. It won't be necesary! Thanks for share!!
Thanks for these informative videos, just bought an MX5 and it’s even more versatile than I thought. Appreciate your insights!
Another excellent video thank you. Answered the remaining questions I had about setting up scenes.

Where did you find that amazing gurgling baby tone?😅 I have headphones on and was turning around looking for a baby.
Lol yep the daughter just had to let her presence be known while shooting the video
Thanks, man!

Too funny! In all fairness they did just release that firmware update only a few months ago. You're forgiven 😉

How do you find the scene or rig you have saved I can't find it to retrieve it to use in a gig

Nice! Need to get this update for my MX5, thanks!
Which mode are you in when creating these? Stomp, Rig or Hybrid?
Good question! I'm in Stomp mode
