Great advices! To solve the problem with your expression pedal you will have to recalibrate it. I recently did it on my HR Pedalboard and it is quite easy, it won’t take long, just look for it on the internet! Looking forward to your next HR video, keep rocking🤘
Yep, I learned something, thanks. It would be nice if Headrush would (in a future update) allow us to turn on and off the internal drive pedals with the toe switch. Until then I'll try to be happy with manipulating the tremolo and equalizer. All is not lost.
This is brilliant, thanks Paul! I was on the fence between this or the Boss Gx100 and Valeton GP200, the MX5 looked a bit limiting for live use. But after checking out some of your videos I think it's capable of a lot! Any opinion on this getting outdated/unsupported soon or not being worth it now that it's over 2 yrs old?
I actually sold mine for a number of reasons. With Headrush releasing the Prime and Core models recently it seems that the logical conclusion is that a new "MX5" is on the way very soon. There is so much choice in the market right now for a unit like this it's nuts, but in a good way. Boss, Valeton, NUX, Line6, Hotone, etc all make small but very powerful compact multi effects units that sound great. It comes down to what interface you're comfortable with at this point and how well the hardware itself will hold up over time. For those reasons is why I no longer have an MX5 and for a while I've been rocking a standard pedal board with a TC Electronic Plethora X5 for all the other effects I kind of use. It comes down to what will work best for you.
@@priorwitness thanks again! I think I'm probably gonna wait for the inevitable MX6 then, I love their user interface and that's a bit of a must-have for me.
@Pirzan00 of course! And yes don't misunderstand me I think Headrush makes a great product and they have proven over the years to support their products for years after release. Which is more than can be said for some other brands out there
@@priorwitness that's actually my biggest concern. Are they good at supporting products post-launch or are they going to prioritize Core and Prime now, some people online think it's the latter.
yep. and if I remember right it sounded pretty good! my unit, though, had a fault with expression pedal and I ended up selling it since it couldn't toe down all the way and there is no way to calibrate the expression pedal on the MX5.
@thematrix7225 maybe they eventually pushed a firmware update. I don't know but that was a big reason why I sold mine. it is one of the best sounding units out there though. there really isn't a bad sound on the MX5.
Thanks this was super helpful to understand the expression pedal more!

They all have the same software....so I think they will support all their units.
awesome! thx
Is there a whammy/pitch shifter?

Cool thanks.
Interesting that there's no way to calibrate it...
