Thanks for this patch Brett ... as a clueless new owner of an MX5 i am looking forward to getting it set up on mine ... if you get a chance would you please let me know your tube screamer settings 😊 ... thanks again mate, Mark ... .
Thanks Brett. I have a gig board. I really dig the tones of the headrush. I just wish the company was marketing the product more effectively. It doesn’t get as much airplay on UA-cam as I would like so having you cover it is very much appreciated.
This little thing seems like a lot of fun and I think it sounds great, the market is saturated with modelers but this seems very user friendly for an old guy like me , thanks Brett , always wonderful demos… Lovin that PRS Studio too
Fantastic video and tutorial! It's always inspiring to watch and listen to you play, but the advice on setting up the HR rigs was so great and really helpful as well! Please do more Headrush videos when possible.
Nice rig Brett, thanks for this nice tutorial, I actually did change the rig a little bit during the fact that the new update 2,5 gave me the chance to have 2 scenes with one only switch and since I use the M-Wave chocolate to control my first 4 pedals in the chain I added one more amp, the AM BF Twin reverb /67 Black Shimmer and the acoustic simulator that give me the change to get more sounds available and more control of the effects. I also use an external Volume pedal that I just use as Master volume control and I have the internal pedal to control whatever parameters I choose....but I haven't decide yet witch one..... Love this sound and I can't wait to used in my next gig! Ciao!!!!
Maybe it’s just me but I could have sworn the title of this video was MX5 Rig building 101 which would imply you would be showing the steps to build said rig. In stead we got look what I did with my HEADRUSH MX5.
The great thing about the mx5 is that it's the same as the pedalboard or gigboard, only smaller and with less stomps/physical controls/physical in/out. Same processor, same sound quality. Stereo FX loop, midi, immense looper. It's a great bang for bucks. If you think about hardware, it's an raspberry pi with a display and controls, but the software is really good. I have one and I regret nothing.
2022 is clearly a big year for touch screens. The technology is expanding by the day and yet you make everything you plug into sound great right on time.
@@planetxlr Thanks. There's good in most products, I think; some more than others, obviously. When I make these vids, it's not about me, it's about the product. If it was about me I wouldn't watch any of them! Thank you again. 🙏🏻
Hey Brett ... absolute perfection in guitar sound, mate. Exactly the sounds I have been looking for. Please let me know the settings you are using on your Tube Screamer ... cheers Mark
Oh man I would love to try one of these!!!!!! still using Me80 which I do enjoy but I want to get another platform with different IR and preamps. Awesome tones here.
Still fighting with mine. I use a Mesa 1x12 cab at gigs, and sometimes sounds ok, a lot of the time sounds thin & shtty, even with an IR. May try a clean SLO preset and just use overdrive pedals for the crunch sounds. I love the ease of use and the effects tho.
You can use scenes and that basically solves that matter . I switch back and forth between a Roland jazz for clean, Marshall for crunch and soldano for lead
Oh man, such a different beast from the 11R, which I owned. I now run this and the Axe Fx3 like Brett. The MX5 is the box to have for portability, but it has a unique sound too!
Same. It's totally different sounding. I really needs to be heard in person. AF3 is my main go to box, but if you want portability, not sure anything small beats it as of Nov2022.

Happy to contribute, Joe. There will be more soon... Thanks for watching. :D

Still love my AF3, but got one of these to try. They are fantastic sounding and super portable.

Ahhh, the Studio, always makes for a good day.
Stellar playing and tones matey!
Love your reviews and rig building episodes. You’ve had good experiences with these - id love to see a few vids on the new Headrush Prime.
Super nice rig settings and excellent playing :) More!
Thank you very much for this awesome Rig ;) And to discover York Audio ;)
Great video and playing, I just ordered one and haven’t seen any good videos showing “my kind of playing” with the headrush haha so this was great!

Too true. Thanks for watching, Pjr!
I appreciate how you find all the good sounds in current hardware with no judgments and pedal shoot outs. Very enjoyable.

@@BrettKingman pints for you mate!
I have one and love it .. Thanks Brett.
No probs. Thanks for watching!
Well... Damn that was good.
Cheers 🍻
Mine hasn't arrived yet, but this rig will be the first one I'll build Thanks!

Brett that intro tone is just magical. It'd be hard not to just play for hours. Thanks for the 'how to'. Appreciated.
Thank u for guide... please more for live gig like rhythm tone or output n input setting or direct to pa setting
Good day, where can I buy your Headrush settings?
Best regards
nice tone~
I thought it had amp sim presets? No? Thanks
If I need to know what is possible with anything guitar related, I check BK!
Still I don’t have an answer for the tube screamer settings…
Sounds great Bret,,,,,What is that song.......its driving me nuts,,,,,
Have the MX5 love it.. any chance of more rig builds like ambient, Blues etc… please Mr K!?🙂
Sure thing. It won't be until November, though, Mr Sumlin. I'm on the road as of next week for eight weeks. Time is tight!
What was the setting for the tube screamer?
Hi Brett. Nice video. How does the MX5 respond to pick attack? Does a lighter touch produce a cleaner patch as you would get in an analog rig?
Yes very good
Awesome!!!
Whats the guitar you are playing Brett, presume a PRS??
What's the IR on your rig?
Sounds great! How would you rate the feel and touch sensitivity compared to Fractal?
One thing I am quite confused about Mx5 is how do we change presets from clean to crunch and lead? I can only see that it’s working as a stomp mode 😢
You can use scenes and that basically solves that matter . I switch back and forth between a Roland jazz for clean, Marshall for crunch and soldano for lead
I had the Eleven Rack for a couple or three years. I wonder if this sounds the same or if it has improved. The 11R was already good, if bulky.

waiting for ambient topic for ths mx5
Im seriously pondering selling my Orange Dual Dark amp and captor x to get a headrush setup, its hard having toddlers 😭.
