If you unlock characters before you max out a single character you will end up grinding WAY more to level them up. Not only that, but if you wait to unlock, HALF of their skill tree will be already full. So you save on level grinding AND mastery point grinding. Potentially saving tens if not hundreds of hours of grinding if you plan to use every character. I believe the highest level an unlocked character can get to is 60, as far as I've seen. So.... basically just work on 4 of the starter characters to start until you see the unlocks at level 60.
I agree BUT I think unlocking one main will be good so you can feed all the materials to them instead of the other starters. Maybe unlock two might also be good. However, no more than two should be unlocked until they are lv 60 with tickets.

This is super helpful. I thought this was going to be more of a "Xenoblade Chronicles" type of large party game. I didn't realize it is more similar to Diablo. I've been playing in early access and have been panicked about how fast the story is going. Now I know I just gotta finish to get to the good stuff.
I had such a hard time deciding on a single new character to first unlock as a main. Was torn between Narmaya, Cag, Vane, and Zeta. Ended up going with Zeta and man her timing window is really freaking hard to nail down on moving targets, but once you unlock more of her nodes and get the timings down, it's a lot of fun. Still, Cag was definitely second on my list. Fun to play and good ai support if not.
This is great info, but I found it too late. The only thing I haven't done is sell materials or sigils. I don't feel bad about it, though, because I'm not in a hurry. Honestly, the rush to end game usually rushes me out of games anyway. Sometimes there is fun in playing inefficiently, especially when you need a break from the 'short' and not particularly great story.
Honestly don't be afraid to do the side quests during main quests.. its more fun and challenging to do while your level is similar to the missions. There are certain ticks you won't be able to do but you could always come back when you're stronger. Definitely enjoyable early game to get them rewards and mastery points through the side missions.
I don't remember them covering what the different potions do. I just remember hearing that they get replenished Correction they do explain it fully, just on a random slide on the loading screen

Yes, it’s genuinely great. The characters, builds, etc. are absolutely fantastic & the bosses are incredibly fun. I’ve dropped 35hrs in it already & nowhere close to wanting to slow down

Uhhh for mains Zeta & Ferry are my highest power, with Narmaya & another character i won’t spoil pretty close to them. Zeta is prob my favourite, but literally every single character is really really fun imo. Edit: also started playing Cagliostro more recently too, she’s pretty fuckin cool
I believe it’s problem with controllers, connect your controller after the game starts, or just play offline will solve the bug. I think they will patch this very soon

Plus alot the missions are beat this in 1min or less to get S plus plus plus rank which will be easier at higher levels. I wish the game had a better story intro than what was given. Im early in, and ive leveld up my main character first a bit with the points, Then ive picked 3 characters im gonna use for the story and leveld them up so they have at least 4 abilities that i like, some defence and offence Then i spend all my mastery points on my character i play with. I think im at chapter 5 playing on hard and its going really well

I never played grandblue and was excited to get this game because it looked beautiful back when they revealed it several years ago. I was thinking great a story mode of the mobile game that will introduce characters. Instead this is sort of the equivalent of Once piece red where you are expected to already know lore and characters…..I was like wtf? still I got the game and I wanna put the work in for however long it keeps me interested.
Meanwhile, I'm soloing the game with just the main character cuz it makes the game feel like a souls game. The 4-man party is too OP, I'm using them just on those red stones where powerful enemies show up and you have limited time to kill them. My builds will be ruined for sure, but maaan, it's so much fun soloing this game. Feels like playing Sekiro, but actually having enough healing items and not having to die for every small mistake. If I reach critical state I restart from the checkpoint though. It's like having the souls game that I always wanted. Just hard and challenging, without the usual bs, insanity and unfairness.

Pretty Horrible English Translation It's really horrible, if you understand even a bit of Japanese, you will easily get confused because the localizer really like to tell their own story with their own wording instead of just translate it as it is. Often what you heard and what you read will be so different in meaning. It's not even a complex sentence, even basic ones got butchered. They also like to use unconventional English and modern gen-z impression, which really out of place and ruin immersion. Example: Character A (JP): Will be done in a second Character A (EN): Will be done in a jiffy You seriously need to changed "second" to "jiffy"? It's so unnecessary Another example: Character A: We can't ignore people in trouble Character B: Exactamundo Huh?? Even when characters speak formal Japanese, they altered it with some slang and impression which made the characters really out of place. 2. Censored Yes, they censored/altered several characters outfit by giving them ugly short pants. 3. Some technical issues Crashing, black screen, glitch, but all can be easily fixed with patch. 4. Possible cheaters in co-op mode because there is no anti cheat present at the moment. The Good: - The game itself run pretty good on RTX 2060, it's not a resource intensive game - The graphic is beautiful - Movement and combat almost feel fluid, but not the level of DMC or Bayoneta - Good amount of playable characters - Good amount of side content - Combat is still fun even in higher difficulty - Co-op It's just so sad the translation is so bad and has unnecessary censorship ruining the original visual artistic. Japanese game companies really need to wake up fast, listen to your costumer not the localizer. Such a good game, ruined by horrible localization and censorship. If you can tolerate all the negatives especially the translation, then it's safe to buy.
The translation team be like : I don't like how the original dialogue so bland, let's make them fancy by adding unnecessary wording into it. (Ended up with pissed off fans)
