Hey Arekkz, from Rackham onwards the character details on the left side just say "Ranged DPS" for every character. Editor must have missed that

For those 5 people like me who play or want to play Ferry, her attacks do more damage if the edge of the whip hits. You can read about this in the Lyria journal on the "Tips" tab. Also when you are far on the mastery system, you unlock a parry if you time correctly the end of your charged X attack (you also have this same thing on Narmaya and maybe on some other characters but i don't know)
so she's a tipper character?
for an example Marth in Super Smash Bros. is a character who's sword does more damage at the tip than along the blade.
@@ColorMeOblong Yup, its just like that. I tested on the training room and it actually works like this. So if you're playing her, its better do be aware of your range before attacking if you want to be optimal

I love playing Ferry , but I find her issue being that her special attack requires you to be close to the opponent while her charged attack requires you to be far away , now I'm conflicted because she doesn't even have a gap closer , and sometimes I just use her Special to send the pets forward for a Range attack that I would otherwise not be able to hit.
@@enchantinghealer6744 I actually don't have this problem... I use lv 15 Dodge increase, so i just dodge away or close the enemies to get in range. Also, my ferry have the damage cap on max and i can reach this damage, so the range for the charge and normal attack don't increase for me. But yeah, i totally see your point, she needs a very specific gameplan to work properly
I just want magliette to be a playable character later, her kit, her look, her voice actor....everything scream perfect to me, I hope they make it real
Based on her art I wanted her to be playable. Her voice broke my heart that she's not 🥺

There’s something I haven’t seen mentioned anywhere on youtube, but with Gran/Djeeta you can spam multiple lv 4 arts skills before it actually resets.
Also, Zeta’s looping combo can be infinite. It just stops its damage increase after 3 loops, but if you have combo booster it’ll just keep increasing.
The Gran arts lvl skill spam is literally in the tutorial, the game already told the player so people just don't bother telling it.
@@calendar6526 specifically, it's one of the mastery skills you need to unlock to allow that
When to press button for Zeta’s aerial combo??😢😢😢 I never get it but still use her, she is just so COOL😂
right when the attack hits, you see a hit marker, that marker was the timing. So it is basically right as the attack hits that is the timing. Do Notice that as the combo goes on, you might get closer to the target, and thus the hit lands earlier and earlier. It is very much a feel thing, and the target dummy is your friend. @@Truth-Freedom-Justice
@@Truth-Freedom-Justice allnames explained it pretty well. I’ve never used the actual marker it shows, just try to press it right as you contact the enemy. You can use one of her unique sigil’s to get more used to it, but I wouldn’t recommend it unless you get the double unique one from Siero.

With zeta, u can loop her aerial dives an infinite amount of times actually (well nearly). It can only really end when the enemy jumps too far, u use the finisher, get hit while doing the loops or u initiate a link attack.
How? When to press button to connect?? I never get the timing😢😢😢
I find pressing X right before the light shines on the enemy will get the timing right

@@Truth-Freedom-Justice the light shines as soon as u connect the dive. Just getting a feel for the timing and pressing just before the light shows up helps. I have a vid of me doing loops during the demo on my channel if u wanna check it out
Yeah, but it turns out that doing 3 loops and do the powered up finisher is better (i know you didn't say that loop indefinitely is better, but is good to know in case someone want to know)
Also, you can dodge midair to avoid attacks or repositioning and that won't break your combos
Toothless has been an absolute unit in my roster---when I'm not playing him, it's almost as though AI is hitting even harder than I normally do, even taking a boss from 20% to nil in an instant on one occasion. I'd have never even known what happened if not for the quest results screen.
That just mean you are good at upgrading the stats for your CPU members isn't it.
Like they can get left behind easily if you invest all upgrade points to your main character
@@Snzn18 It probably help that Toothless is a skill spam type and AI do like to spam skill.
AI become null in Proud mode. Focus on your main.

Been really enjoying Rackham so far, his huge range and less input heavy kit make him both satisfying and not too harsh on my tendonitis. If tendonitis wasn't an issue I'd play Charlotta because her fast-paced gameplay and big damage are quite fun and feel powerful.
Very helpful, my hands are having issues so if this is more gentle to play it is a BIG plus. Thank you!
Cagliostro is my main for now. This video is making some other characters look fun AF though. Yodarha was my favorite dps during the demo as I love fast-attacking melee characters. Charlotta was up there too but I was hoping she could have more support skills and was disappointed she's almost purely dps. I'll need to get Ferry another look after this video along with Lancelot and spoiler character. Vane looks really good too.

Vaseraga is so damn fun to play (I'm around chapter 6 in the campaign, but still)! He does suffer from MH's Greatsword phenomenon, where as soon as you start charging your move, the monster decided to just say "Nah, I'm gonna move away from you", but landing full charged hits is SO DAMN SATISFYING
but on the bright side special attack after a single basic is 2 dash attacks
I was playing him against the boss in the desert and hitting her with the big punch lauches her across the arena, it's so good, also if you manage to link burst he has the highest dps on the squad as his rage doesn't reset
narmayas setsuna skill slaps so hard i do more than a full burst on just the inital hit sometimes toothless was an amazing surprise will be using him next once i max narmaya out lord knows howw long that'll take lol amazing game imo

I choose Ferry, Vane, Percival, Charlotta. Switch Percival to Siegfried if I need immune team for particula bosses.
I've been playing a crit built rackam and that stuff just wrecks, I don't see much people talking about him ><

@@Goldy01 So am I, I've really tried to play anything else than rackam, when I wrote this originally, I was like lvl 30 lol, still a baby. I'm still playing rackam at lvl 100 at the tail end of maniac. I've tried a majority of the other characters. I hope I get a second character I like as much to get some variety. :D

My main team are Yodarha, caglio, vane and either seigried or Io. The last member can be anybody but with the buffs being provided by Caglio, very OP. Seigfried is good buffer and dame dealer too. Vane, i just like him. I might even include either Ferry, for additional buffs or Io for range dps since she can have more than one element
Tip for Toothless , every attack skill allows you to start "Sword Flurry" combo which is more fast paced and ends your combo faster , I think this is also the case with Link Attacks , use skills while being ready to use Sword Flurry to get the maximum amount of meter and damage :D
Main cagliostro, fun as hell with yodarha the second main
There’s a lot of advanced tech for characters using animation cancels, redacted/toothless specifically has broken tech that seems borderline unintended.
Can basically cancel any skill animation with a dodge into an instant, fully charged triangle dash combo. Cancelling correctly doesn’t proc the skill’s cooldown either so can be done indefinitely until full gauge. Was in Frieza form for like 95% of the time against the dragon lol
Percival's mechanic revolves around "Schlatt" because Percival knows how dangerous he is for what he did in '99.
I play support for the majority of games and this game has diverse range of characters that has it, I dunno which others should I pick but for sure Cagliostro is gonna be my go-to character for most part of the game and into multiplayer. I just still wonder for the characters why Rolan is not a playable char, crossing fingers for a dlc.

Vaseraga and Ghandagoza are my kind of chars. i already main Vas in GBVSR so its a no brainer for me to main. ghandagoza follow the same rule as vas, i dont hit you often but you WILL feel it when i do.

one thing you forgot to mention about toothless godmight is that it also buffs most if not all his abilities aswell, they get addtional hits or faster animations
Vaseraga and ghanda are my favorites and when i can will go for the last one.
Vaseraga my favorite too, I did a stun build for him
Katalina is broken, just keep Ares out and her damage is insane.
Just keep looping an attack skill and mashing triagle and Ares stays on field for a long time.
As long as you can use an attack skill Ares will never leave, so it's good to have skill cooldown sigils, also Frozen Blade because it has 2 charges.
I also like using Emerald Shield, because you dont get interrupted during attacks, you still take some damage but this skill last longer than Light Wall.
Appreciate the spoiler warning! I stopped at that part. Might just get Zeta after finishing the main story.
The biggest sin in this game is casting Hiroshi Kamiya to voice a brand new character and he is not even playable.
i wanted to play as Rolan.
He may be later on who knows?
The game will be getting updates ( including 2 free characters / raid boss and other conten) so don't lose hope yet

I was questioning if i should buy this game (which i already was pretty inclined to buying) but the last character in the video sold it for me. I'm getting the game as soon as the issues on PC get fixed

Been playing and switching between Narmaya and Lancelot. Narmaya stance switching is just so fun to do and she deals a lot of damage. Lancelot just zips around the battle field and can also dish out a lot of damage. Just focus on building crit chance.
Good to know that lancelot is actually good despite players negative opinion about him in the beta
@@yass3425 you just have to keep his weapon imbued with ice to maximize his damage. Learn to dodge using his twin blade dance to keep the combo going. Most of his skills can continue comboing with his basic attacks and they recharge so quickly. He's not so good against flying enemies tough.
currently button mashing with zeta, someday I'll be able to understand and see the timing among the fireworks of sfx

I main Yodarha. And ill be honest he makes my life easy with extreme. I just have him built crit, now he has 87 at 80+ level. With combo finisher, i like how he is invulnerable. Then add Mirage then is is pretty much just combo nonstop for like a minute without getting damaged. Hope every sees his potential

I bought Narmaya as soon as I could to use it myself as the DPS of my team, but I can only say that Toothless easily blew everything out of the water with his powers. His dragonform is just too OP. He outperforms me even when played by the CPU.

If you stagger katalina with her party wide invulnerability and yodarah with his mirror image buff on the whole party your teams survivability will be insane.
Steam reviews have to be trolling. This game has been absolutely phenomenal. Music, visuals, combat, bosses. AHHHH this game is so dope.
They speak more of crashes and other technical issues, those that speak of the actual game seem very positive

I know we have Ghandagoza but I *really* want Soriz to be playable. I love the rhythmic huge hits that Goza brings but I just love the speed and ferocity from the master of the fundoshi fist.
Thanks man, great guide, I'm already in ch 9 and I have unlocked only Yodarha (very early) and Vane later on. But when I have unlocked Vane, I was lv 55 and he was only lv 25. How exactly this work? I also heard that's better to unlock characters after you finish the story?
The level of characters you recruit goes up as the story progresses. Max is level 60 after you beat chapter "0"

Yodarha is totally my guy… so fun to play, could be better in terms of utility, but a blast to fight with
Zeta has infinite loop if you doing it in Link Mode and Break mode, since her role is Breaker Assassin. you can spam light attack repeatedly without fail, then after the timing is almost running out just hit Heavy attack or Arvess Slam.
I need more characters in this game, i hope they will add more with maybe some dlc

Zeta's playstyle is basically insect glaive, as my main weapon i gotta play her for sure. Rackham is second
game is a spitting image of Infinite Undiscovery and it never got this much hype, yall really need to give credit where is due that game was a masterpiece and yall let it fall through the cracks
Eh hard disagree on IU being a masterpiece. I remember being so hyped for that game and then just dropping it when I got near the end because I was so bored. Only bit I remember at all was the main dude giving up on his quest for revenge because he had got laid by the princess.
If anything this game is ths weird lovechild of Rogue Galaxy and White Knighr Chronicles. Which I love since I have very fond memories of borh games and it just reminds me of those wonderful days when Level 5 put out some bangers like Dark Cloud and Ni No Kuni.
Naemaya carry like crazy almost as she has highest burst dmg aggro control and nice clicky combo

I unlocked the spoiler character today. And he’s obviously the best character in the game. Does this change once other chars get to level 100 and are more geared up? Because right now for me he’s flat out OP
idk anything about this game but I watched this whole video and I just wanna say that I would have such a hard time picking between Katalina, Lancelot, Zeta, Zarmaya, and the spoiler person.
I've decided I'll be Yodahra or w.e it's spelled bc he seems OP but looks stupid and I love that.
Its crazy to me that platinum games ever worked on this game and this game doesnt have counter-dodge/parry for all characters. They have perfect dodge and guard but it doesnt reward you with counters or time slow. Instead it gives you a second of invulnerability and stun which i dont think the stun effects all enemy types. The lack of a true counter move might of been the reason platinum didnt finish the game
Narmaya is fun and deals crazy dps. Get war elemental and her sigils then ur set
Zeta air loops can be used infinitely and damage keeps increasing past 3 loops so unless necessary you should keep the loop going as long as feasibly possible. Ps there's more playable characters than this
The only character I need is Lucilius and the job system to be released
I enjoy mages in games because I like weilding elements, but I also want my mages to look like adults.

Love Cag so much. Fun to play and the character is written pretty entertaining to me, I get a kick out of it
If you dodge after releaseaing the big ball for Rackham you dont take damage
Cagliostro can do support but she can also be played as a pure damage dealer like pretty much every single character.
I would argue that the only two characters that are harder to justify as pure DPS are Vane because he's the only one so far into the tank direction and Rosetta because her basic combos all apply buffs to the team by default. So even if Rosetta wants to be a pure dps she will still do support.

so overall if i just wanna play the game and i dont care about minmaxing and stuff, the best team is i am playing eugen and the teamcompo is ferry, siegfried and Percival?
