Just a correction. You don't want to wait for everyone to be at 100% for SBAs. When someone initiates their SBA everyone else gets 10%. This means someone can be as low as 70% and will get to 100% as they will get 10% 3 times. So your team could be at 100, 90, 80 and 70 for example and you will get a full burst.

You guys are absolutely going to love this game, I've already sunk 14 hours into and man, it's quite addicting!
This game is great. It's insane how fun it is. It just clicks when you get it and everything feels so right. The hit boxes feel great. The moves are awesome. The progression is insane. It's really like a gatcha game without any micro transactions and properly balanced so far. The ability to auto repeat quests is a godsend for farming materials.
Nice guide dude. As someone who played with all 11 characters in the demo, I must say they did a great at making them all so diverse. Can't wait to play with the others.

This is such a great in-depth beginner review. I just finished the story and now its heavy grinding time. This game is incredible, there is no boring character at all, and theres loads of end game content
How is the combat difficulty? Looks really easy to me.
The combat itself is pretty easy, some characters more on the technical side to master but easy for anyone to learn on the fly. The content on certain quest range from really easy to very hard which makes the long term content perfect
Been playing nonstop. Game is magical.
You forgot if you invite a friend into your online game they stay in your lobby after completing quests and your friends can make quest requests even if the other player has done them , I've been power leveling a friend's account as soon as he was able to make a online lobby I dragged his character through all the hard bosses awesome way to farming matz as well.

Dude thank you for this. I've been searching videos to find one that actually explains what this game is and this is the only one I've found that dies. All the others talk about the game without actually saying what it is or what you're doing.
I didn’t know the franchise until now. I bought the deluxe version and I’m already addicted to the game. It’s definitely an hidden gem.

This way better then tale of arise you can actually cancel your attack animation 10/10
Judging by the anime, story and characters will be a downside, but the combat is good.
@NotForAnimals My point is, a part from similar-ish combat it's nothing like a tales game. The structure is completely different.

Loving Percival and Rosetta right now. Their conversations are also quite interesting. Thinking about adding Siegfried to my squad since I'm still in the story and stuck with the MC as the fourth slot. But Io has been a huge help as well, with her doing Paralysis and Rosetta doing poison and Percival inflicting burn and slow.

19:30 additional aspects of the Sky Boud Art usage for Chain Bursts.
When one is used, the rest of the party will have their sky bound art gauged fill by 10%. This happens every time, so you are safe to use your SBA's when you have your last party member sitting near 70%.
Also, when you are struggling to meet a timer, know that the use of an SBA (as well as cinematic boss attacks) will stop the timer.

Enjoying it a lot so far, but I am going to have to focus on a main 4 because it seems like a lot of work in store to max out a character. I am actually really liking playing with Io, sometimes it feels good to use a ranged character as most are close range. Going to be hard to decide a main 4, then a backup 4.
My only concern is how time consuming quests will be if playing alone, because quests seem like it may move faster playing online.
So....... any chance you can throw us a tidbit of information on the PC port quality? Big parts of this is obviously PC recorded footage going by the xbox button prompts and a lot of people are waiting to hear more about if the PC port is good or not. I won't ask for a full review like answer off course but just some basic stuff like stutters? what kinda gpu was it ran on? Would be nice to know, even if we have only like 2 more days left till launch.
I've heard from a streamer that he's heard from other reviewers who got the pc port early that it runs smoothly, but that's pretty much the best answer we're gonna get until it comes out I think
i don't find the menu for create/join session, only play online menu available. Did you unlock it after some quest progress?

does that mean that you can do full story progression online or what? like is it the same as key quests? does everybody's story progress or just the hosts? i need to know
Story mode is solo only. Quests and post-story stuff can be all done online.
Is the camera and lock on system still the same as they were in the demo? Those are the only two stopping me from buying the game, camera was too close and lock really killed my field of vision

I played the demo. Does the gameplay get better? The missions i did were pretty basic and not very challenging and none of the characters i played with seemed that deep or mechanically interesting. Except for maybe ice guy but thats just bc he reminded me of dual blades from MH
I am having trouble to match making on very hard or below difficulty level. How many difficulty on quests??
I’m probably gonna be a tank dodgy Lancelot build character. I like his playstyle the most and I hope his dodge mechanic is fun to use. Don’t really care about doing the most damage just decent enough to chip down an enemy when they’re breaker or down.
Does the PC version support 21:9 aspect ratios? (Ultra wide) like 3440x1440.
Are you able to go through non story quests without AI companions? Or is it mandatory to have a team of 4

Only played a few characters so far but, in MH terms:
Gran=SnS but with the Zelda spin move.
Percival=Hammer
Zeta=Insect Glaive
Charlotta=SnS but with Counter/Shoruken
Lancealot=DB
Vaseraga=GS

how do you control who'll execute the skybound arts first?
Something that I haven't seen mentioned at all is whether the online mode will have crossplay between the PS and Steam versions, as I have a few friends who can only run it on PS but I don't have one myself and want to play with them if possible.
Sadly it’s not between pc and ps, but only for the ps4 and 5.

Awesome guide, however just a correction. You mention that we can select either Gran or Djeeta and switch between them during game and unless I'm mistaken, that's not the case.
You can if you go to Gran and select costumize character. There you can change colors but also appearance.

Number 1 pro combat tip not mentioned in this video: The game has a simplified dodge offset. Pretty obvious Platinum were the original developers of the combat lol. Very useful as well since a lot of the characters have mechanics tied to landing combo finishers.
Wait why did Platinum remove themselves from development?
@@dgayle2348 because they dont make it, they remake the game from ground up, but have staff that left platinum games
@@dgayle2348they got hired as contractors and build the combat foundation and character skeleton and once that was done cygames continued working on it and changed and added some things :)
@@dgayle2348 Platinum was fired iirc (though no one used that exact terminology, they just said they went their separate ways.) It's very clear Cygames just built on Platinum's foundation though because dodge offset is not that common of a mechanic outside of Platinum games, KH3 is the only recent game I can think of that uses it as well.

Anyone know if you are able to fully remap your controls on PC? Or do we need to wait for modders to implement that?
I believe all the demo allowed was to swap L1/L2.
You can swap L1 and L2 but that's it 😢
You can dona full sweep of controlls if you have a 3rd party controller, if you have a ps or Xbox one then no.
steam can do the remapping for you
I'm wondering the campaign is on this. My gf and I want to pick it up for the multiplayer primarily but with it being tied to completing the campaign she's hesitant to pick it up in worry it's not catchy enough for her lol.
You can play the co op mode pretty early before finishing the campaign besides there is a demo you may want to try it will help both of you to decide
ill be honest, i had forgotten about this game until a saw the trash boys play it and now im all back on the hype train! i love the combat, it reminds me of the combat in honkai 3rd. so im all here for it
I thought the multiplayer/coop was locked behind beating the story mode? You can't do coop right out the gate right??
You can do the various quests in multiplayer which unlock as you play through the story. The endgame stuff unlocks at the end of the story, which the endgame can be completely played in multiplayer.
I believe you get your first crew ticket around thr start of chapter 3, and you get 1 free and 1 side quest crew ticket around the start of chapter 6. Not sure about the rest
you get a 3rd in Chapter 8 and thats it for story, you trade for 1, and rest come from doing the Quest stuff for first time rewards
Can someone answer me about multiplayer? Can you play through the entire game coop or is it just a side thing and you still have to do things alone in single player?
The main story is single player only which is separate from the multiplayer quests.
Ah I see, that's kinda disappointing. If story is single player is multiplayer just side quests or material grinding?

So does this confirm that a lot of post story (or separate from story) quests are similar to the demo where you just drop into a small arena to fight a boss and then it's over? Cause thats....very disappointing if so.

if you expect this game to be like a single player story driven game like Tales,Persona,Final Fantasy Series. etc. yeah you will be disappointed. This is more like of a monster hunter.

Is it worth getting s rank or higher in missions? Like is there any unique reward or anything?
You will get an additional reward (material to improve your sigil/weapon). It is not unique. Sometimes the same reward drop if you get A or S rank. IMO, it does not worth grinding unless you are a completionist
S++ is a requirement for a trophy in Lyria Journal on all quest but outside that the rewards are RNG and some enemies you have to break their parts for some materials
Do it with friends .. more. Fun that way 😊
I might have missed something but can I play whole story with my friend?
Is there a way to redeem the mistakes...I got to the Versa fight and its literally whooping my ass. (Keep in mind im new to the series and have made a few mistakes such as using crewcards early)
So if you are playing multiplayer, can you join with 1 person like your gf and the rest of the party is filled by npcs? Or if you join with 1 player, thats it, and to do the harder content 4 people will be hard required because you don't have npcs filling the rest of the party?
Any idea how long we have to wait to play as someone different? I would really like to play as Rackam as soon as possible.
I believe around the start of chapter 2 (maybe its 1 cant remember if there is a prologue), very early. You get your first crew ticket around chapter 3

Even this game is on ps4 and ps5, if you play this on pc, only the xbox controller input is supported at the moment, unfortunately. One one mentioned that in any of the videos I've watched, so I figured I let people know.
Looks like Gran has a different outfit in some of these shots. Do all characters get bonus outfits or is it only color?
Gran/Djeeta are the only ones the get a alt outfit if you buy the deluxe I believe? The rest are just color palettes sadly

i hope they add ff14 style raids to this game. It would be pretty awesome to go through different obstacle courses and fighting multi stage bosses
Ffxiv raids doesn’t really do obstacles these days in raids.

You can't your allowed to replay the story chapters once you beat it. So you can go find any collectibles you missed

Oh skill trees....anyone know if we will be given enough points to unlocks every node on all trees? Or will it be like choose ur shit wisely kinda thing. Also can they be reset?
You can unlock everything with enough grind.

@@shiratsumiThe way I went around this is to turn off auto save in the system menu and manually save before using a ticket for one of the characters. From there you can test the characters out in the training mode and restart the game. This lets you keep your ticket if you didn’t like the character you tried. I know it’s a bit extra but it was definitely helpful for me when choosing characters. 😅

Damn .. is that a after you beat the game menu .. have the pre order access but don't see that at the counter ... Especially where you pointed it out at 5:40
The secret character you unlock after beating the main story feels completely busted, they have both long range and close range attacks, a heal that also deals damage and their special action replaces thier skills with super versions, not mention if you complete four combos in their enhanced form they get super buffed and deal a really strong finisher, I legit have never seen a boss health vanish as fast when using any other character.

Press Start to open the main menu, go to system and in there will be save option :)

The info about about the chain burst is somewhat false.
You don't need everyone to be at 100% to use chainburst. It's safer, but it's ineffective.
Using a SBA gives your party members 10% of their gauge. Same with subsequent ones. So you really only need a 100, 90, 80, and 70 for your party.
I can imagine this being popular with the monster hunter portable fans that don’t want to play animal tracking sims

It is not an open word game. Each chapter takes you to a new area where you can move freely and attack enemies. There are two “town” areas -that’s it. The chests do respawn each time you leave/re-enrer to make it less boring (Genshin Impact I am looking at you)
