UnBoxed Films presents, TK-436: A Stormtrooper Story, the gritty tale of a loyal Imperial Stormtrooper who is forced to confront his past in the heat of an epic battle. Directors Samtubia & Samgoma Edwards imagined it from a perspective that is seldom explored within the Star Wars universe.
Winner of the 2016 Filmmaker Select Award at Star Wars Celebration Europe. It was chosen by a panel of judges that included Rouge One: A Star Wars Story's director Gareth Edwards, executive producer John Knoll of Industrial Light & Magic, and co-producer John Swartz.

FUN FACTS ABOUT TK-436: A Stormtrooper Story
1.) All of the Stormtrooper costumes were made using EVA foam, athletic mats, and pepakura patterns.
2.) The stormtrooper costumes were purposely made to look bulky and damaged in order to give the stormtroopers a more intimidating appearance.
3.) The short film took approximately 7 months to complete.
4.) In the film TK-436 supposedly has a beta model Helmet, complete with functional cheek filters (inspired by the First Order helmets) and advanced HUD capabilities.

@Han Lockhart What TK-436 is implying is that he forgives his love interest for joining the Rebels.
For him, he truly has faith in the Empire, and he believes in the promise of peace and stability that the Empire at least claims to be founded on. He fundamentally believes that the ends *can* justify the means. So, he can't or, at least on some level, refuses to understand why people would be so incensed by Imperial rule that they would resort to picking up arms against the state.
However, as I previously stated, he cares enough about the woman in the video that he can forgive her for joining the Rebellion that, from his perspective, is in the wrong. In fact, he ironically uses her betrayal and subsequent death to reaffirm his faith in the Empire.

    • @Tsanschy
      @Tsanschy 4 роки тому +6

@@self-satisfiedsmirk5544 While she, in maybe believing he was killed by rebels, saw it as motivation in joining the rebel movement, to kill those her dead luv would have called brothers in arms and doing her part to bring death, terror and chaos upon the galaxy.
In his view it is more frustrating; "I thought you are my dreamgirl for all eternity, and now I found you here, cucking me for some terrorists."
He had faith in something bigger than anything else. She had no faith at all.

Ummmm those are some pretty strong feelings. Correct me if I'm wrong but not only did the Disney SW movies make money but were actually well reviewed and made, Rogue One is probably the second best SW movie ever made after Empire, and all 4 of the current Disney movies are far and away better than Phantom, Clones and Revenge which also made a boat load of money and we're not very good. Have you read the synopsis of what Lucas wanted for the next trilogy? Can the films be better? Maybe, they need a better stand alone identity, rather than ride the coat tails of the original trilogy, but they are not that bad especially considering the 2nd trilogy and the bullet we dodged that would have been Lucas' next trilogy. Lucas had moments, but by far he is not a great writer ( Vader and Padme romance is inexplicably horrible and completely unbelievable) nor is he a great director (the best SW movie, Empire, was not directed by Lucas)...you all just need to calm down

It's not about propaganda, it's about context, for more developed worlds the empire was true good, the fact it was ruled by a Sith was irrelevant or maybe even a positive overall, it was mostly the underdeveloped worlds that relied on criminal activity that saw empire as a force of evil, you could make a political argument that the empire's bureaucracy limited freedom too much, on the other hand the republic limited freedom too little (aka lack of persecuting crime), still to the normal, law abiding citizen living on a world that didn't rely on business from criminals, empire would be net positive

Reason 4: If the script starts to not make sense, the force is used as a cop out to make it make sense
Reason 5: Somehow allegations that the Jedi were trying to stage a coup is enough of a reason for the entire galactic senate to just let Palpatine be the emperor without limits on his power even though the Jedi probably make up a total of 0.00000000000000000000000000000001% of the entire galactic population and obviously pose little threat as evidenced by the scenes where Jedi fucking masters are embarrassingly gunned down by clone troopers even though we see them in previous movies (and even in scenes from the same movie) as an unstoppable force on the battlefield that can only be stopped by other Jedi or very skilled warriors.

    • @Erikaaaaaaaaaaaaa
      @Erikaaaaaaaaaaaaa 8 років тому +49

I'm glad he remained loyal. Filmmakers and authors always seem to forget that patriotism is a thing. Even during the height of Joseph Stalin's madness, the Red Army still remained unwaveringly loyal.
In the core worlds of the Empire, the Empire controls the media. To the people of the Empire, the Rebels are the same breed as ISIS or Al-Qaeda.
This is the story of the Empire. Even though their leader was a lunatic, even though many people they loved may have defected, they still fought for the Empire.
Not for Palpatine, not for Tarkin, but for the country they grew up in against what they viewed as a terrorist organization.
If your girlfriend went off to join ISIS, you would still love her, but I doubt you would run off and join ISIS as well, especially if you were a veteran who had lost friends in the War on Terror.

This is for sure, the worst time to be a Star Wars fan, with all this hate with 4 of the 7 movies, sometimes even 5 of 7, and it will get worst and worst as the new movies will be launch.
Nostalgic fans who can't love all the saga, (and I'm talking about love all the episodes besides their mistakes, since even the classic trilogy has a lot of them) please, make us a favor: go watch and rewatch the original trilogy on VHS and stop spreading meaningless hate.

Great film, gives an opportunity to see the war and devastation through the eyes of an Imperial Stormtrooper. We have spent our entire lives seeing everything from the Rebel Alliance point of view as well as the Jedi, which gave us the ability to know the true evil and intentions of the Galactic Empire. This film shows us the reality of the situation, the Stormtroopers are human like us all with family, friends, and loved ones. Through propaganda, lies, and ignorance they were blindly fighting for what they believed was freedom and in their eyes the Rebel Alliance was to them as the Empire was to us. In this film we have seen at least two lives deeply effected by this war and the overwhelming pain it caused them, this alone is deeply tragic but there were thousands of Stormtroopers whom all had lives, families, loved ones, friends lost while blindly fighting this war. Now, through this one film, we all see for the first time Stormtroopers aren't the evil, inhuman, faceless, unimportant, expendable bucket heads we've spent our lives seeing them as anymore. I, for one, am grateful for the opportunity to see this film and to see the reality through the eyes of a Stormtrooper. To all involved in the making of this film I thank you greatly, may the Force be with you always.

Stuck in trenches artillery and tie fighter and x wing strikes from both sides soldiers marching to their deaths. The Rebels getting pushed back to the last trench men slaughtered by toxic gas. The rebels having to surrender leaders captured. I think that would be a great idea putting the horrors of ww1 in Star Wars. It wasn't until Pearl Harbor that American opinion was swayed enough to support entering the war. We were fighting to prevent our country from being attacked again and to defend our allies. Finally, did you ever think just how many people would have died if the US was forced to invade Japan with ground troops? A heck of a lot more than the 129K that died at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Look up Operation Downfall. We are lucky that Japan decided to surrender. A ground invasion of Japan would have been a bloodbath.

Vader only hated the higher ups because they tried to kill him, they take no responsibility, only cared for themselves and just make excuses. So he started force chocking certain officers. There were officers like Firmus Piett who Vader did not kill because they took responsibility and were actually in it for the Empire rather than themselves.

I concur. In this era of readily available screen accurate armours and new building techniques (3D printing, Pepakura, etc), settling on "Halloween costume" level of quality is just inexcusable.

+Jan Strzelecki (Kazeite) there's actually Halloween costumes that are more accurate then these

Try running in the replica armor and you'll understand why they didn't use it.

      M.D. S I have, in fact - I own two sets myself :)
But that's really no excuse. Even if they wanted better mobility, they could've at least used better helmets - surely, the replica helmets couldn't be any worse, vision wise, than the EVA helmets, right?
And there are several scenes here which involve no action, right?

Glad to see a film that doesn't have to deal with the rebels or jedi's too. Also is that the stormtrooper armour does not have to be looking brand new each time too.

Exactly. And the rebels aren't even the good guys. They're terrorists, murderers, theives, and traitors who wish to remove an entire government that brings order, and peace. Just to replace it with their broken Ideology. Hell they massacred billions of fathers, sons, daughters, wives, husbands, brothers, sisters, etc, blowing up both death stars. and people say that "Oh blowing up Alderan with the death star was atrocious." It wasn't Alderan was a millitary target, and in WAR millitary targets are what people will go after.

If you liked the point of view aspect from a storm trooper, there is a great book called Lost Stars that follows two imperial cadets through their service

I have never felt so utterly crushed and saddened by any other bitter ending than this. Truly a beautiful work and a great service to the Star Wars community upon the part of all those who contributed to this films making - something I wouldn’t say of Disney’s work with Star Wars with their substantial budget yielding a meager plot line and detached characters.

Disney need to show more the POV of the imperials, the fans need to reinvict this more! It's can be amazing histories and i can prove this for anyone don't belive this! Read the book "Star Wars: Lost Stars", this book show a POV of Ciena and Thane, two friends and two want to join the empire forces, i do not set spoiler here, but this book is awesome and canon, he probably is the first to show a imperial POV, i hope disney develop more contents showing the point of view of the imperials :D
