I rarely comment on fan made videos for two reasons. First, I know that lots of people worked hard on them, were unpaid, and only did it for the passion they have for Star Wars. Secondly, because of our collective passion, emotions run high in any discussion and a reasonable dialogue becomes nearly impossible. However, I found this film to be so well made and purposeful that I wanted to respectfully add a few comments. You have laid an excellent groundwork for a potential Mini series or even a longer piece of work. You opened up the potential of having a real dramatic series about life as a storm trooper and the personal interactions they have, the emotions that they share and their fears of battle. I found the Films' writing to be a little slow for my tastes but very well done none the less. So I would encourage you that if you have the means financially or otherwise to continue, please do so. Give the female storm trooper a name ( or number...) and have them interact with each other before during and after their missions. Tell us more about the woman that stabbed the rebel, and take us into their lives. With your collective talent, anything is possible. You really have a stablished a high quality level of production and amazing potential. I have subscribed to your channel and would be willing to donate some funds for other projects. Well done, and please continue....
Thanks very much for an awesome write up. For sure we learned alot on this and we will apply all those learnings into a follow up episode. Your moral support and enthusiasm to see where our characters go next is the most valuable investment to us. Thanks again

Love it when people actually portray stormtroopers for what they are, elite soldiers of the Galactic Empire. Not clumsy soldiers with bad aim. Great work!
Fives I’m not actually sure why people say stormtroopers have such bad aim. In rogue one and empire they take out their fair share of rebels (though there are definitely a few really bad shots) and in a new hope they obliterated the tantive IV and in the Death Star were supposed to let the rebels escape to find the base. Overall I’d say they’re no worse than any other generic evil movie soldier. Just something to think on.
I remember when seeing that the AT-AT was able to operate under water in the Star Wars comic thinking that it was super cool. Seeing it in a live action piece like this makes it even better.
Mr. RunningMan - well spotted. You can imaging out surprise that on our first draft scripts in 2016 we thought we were taking a huge risk putting the AT-AT underwater but then we saw that comic too and were thrilled it was a sign we were on the right path. It just seemed a natural fit to justify the often maligned AT-AT design.
Remember also that in the latter days of the Empire, most Stormtroopers were conscripts that were torn away from their families and made to visit violence on their fellow beings. It's very likely that none of them wanted to be there, but as they had no choice lest they all endure a rather brutal "counseling session" by their commanding officers or, worse, Lord Vader himself, they looked after each other and trained hard so they would survive in combat. To such as these, living another day meant another day closer to being able to cast off that reviled white armour and to go home at last. These were the ones who wanted very short careers in the Empire's service. The older ones, the veterans, knew there was no longer a home for them to return to. They had done too much and allowed too much to be done in the name of the Empire to ever return home with a shred of dignity or honour. The only home they had left was the Empire itself, the only family their fellow troopers, whom they were trained to disregard if they died in battle. It was a sad and horrible life for most, if not all, of them.
No trigger discipline...back when I served, if the 1st Sgt. caught you with your finger on the blaster's actuator, it was automatically three hours with the torture droid, and a week of scrubbing out the inside of Lord Vader's, Force rest his soul, cod piece armor!
Poor trigger discipline? Heck, some of the troopers didnt even squeeze the trigger and the weapons were firing. I blame poor lack of weapon maintenance.
Hell, you got it easy, if my 1st Sgt. caught us with our hand fabric on the blaster actuator, 50 days with an assigned tutor, eight hours with the "discipline" bot, a beating, and then we got our helmets beaten. Francis, my platoon leader, got caught using both hand on the handle with an HRF blaster, got demoted, 3 days with the torture bot, and he had to go in front of the dark lord!
I love how the tone of this reflects the reality of combat for real soldiers and not the adventure of movie entertainment. Sort of brothers in arms meets sci-fi. Well done. Kudos.
ARMOROID5000 I agree that it was well done overall and I enjoyed it, but as far as like combat reality it could’ve been better. Can't wait for it, one question tho the guy with yellow shoulderpad should be the leader of the squad, but why does the woman take lead? Shouldn't she have the shoulderpad then?
Max de Sain - Good question. We wanted to show the leaders in a platoon in addition to the Platoon Leader. Every successful platoon or squad will have that experienced and likely jaded veteran in the corner prepping raw rookies and switching into auto pilot in a fire fight as part of a drilled squad. We like how Band of Brothers did it by alternating the POV between Winters and an ensemble of characters to give more depth to the story of the group.
Like how serious this film takes itself. The serious music in the background, how the actors are around eachother, the minor gore from the battle, it really has more of a suspense war type of feel.
Ya know, I find it amusing and awesome that I can watch a 16 minute fan film and like it 200 times better than a 2 hour long movie made by one of the biggest corporations in the movie industry. @@beijaflor9313 I agree Disney is actually accepting this cancer culture bs that's ruining our society today. And yeah the sequel series (except for the Force Awakens in my opinion) is awful.
Awesome work. Well done. Really great fan film. I really like the cinematography, acting and effects. Plus it's always nice to see something from the Imperial POV. :)
Stormtroopers it's very good and well made, it just needs to be shorter and better acting from time to time especially the main woman. You have created great tension in the beginning, however, they don't need to be so long since it would just drag on and on instead of bringing the film together. Over all though great work.
It should be a crime that it took me this long to find this masterpiece. I love the inclusion of the ATAT Walker being able to operate underwater. Not many people acknowledge that. The battle scenes and accuracy in the equipment was amazing.
While some of the action left quite a bit to be desired, the plot and actual story telling is probably the best I've seen out of any Star Wars fan film. Well done!
A vast bulk of the rebel terrorists were only united by their mutual hatred of Emperor Palpatine: once the anarchists were victorious or crushed into exile they would turn on each other like the Khmer Rouge and burn themselves out from infighting.
Thanks. We wanted to go for that Band of Brothers style slow build up of tension before the drop. We also had a lot of characters to introduce so the next episode can run at a different pace.
Extremely well done, I like that you showed that stormtroopers for what they really are; but I feel like losses on both sides would just make it more realistic (at the start, I mean)
This was great work, gives me great hope that star wars will never die with such a dedicated community that keeps the franscise fresh. Thank you for this and may the force be with you always.
Very good wish more people would do stuff like this and show that there are always 2 sides to any story and that anyone with a dream can make something as cool as George Lucus
It was good but some questions were left. Who was the girl who stabbed the rebel? We can assume she is imperial but if she was she would of gone to the troopers to hand over the crystals. Also, Stormtrooper armor is meant to disperse a blaster bolt thus not killing the trooper, it wasn't clear wether she was dead or injured. Most of the time after a fight some would die but some would be unconscious but be battered up. It was good but there were some little things left that I was wondering about. FOR THE EMPIRE!
On a side note about the armor. If a blasters power is high enough it can go through the armor and kill, a DL44 is a prime example of one. Also if a trooper gets shot in their weak points(Basically anywhere the white armor parts arent) even with a weaker blaster, its death in the obvious spots
In Legends they had great aim: comicvine.gamespot.com/star-wars-universe/4015-57038/forums/star-wars-stormtrooper-respect-thread-legends-cano-1680470/ It's another reason why I don't bother with Disney Canon.
I like how this fan film makes that star wars universe seem much more real that the movies, no space wizards with light swords or soldiers eith bad aim despite their training
Yeah, enjoyed this. I've often thought it'd be a great way to go for live action series. Maybe something like strike back. Storm troopers working their way up to death troopers and don't special ops etc.. seeing the story from the point of view of Empire Service people who genuinely believe in what their fighting for and as it goes on they have to fight with their conscience and the things they've to do etc??.
This is exactly why I was pumped to play the campaign for Battlefront II. (The 2017 one, not the original BF2) I thought it was a unique opportunity to play as an Imperial and see everything from their perspective. And while I did like Iden Versio's character, it felt incredibly underwhelming halfway through. I don't want to get into spoilers in case anyone has yet to play it, but basically, the way the events unfolded felt like a complete cop-out to me. I really hope we get something like this that's properly executed some day. Whether it be a movie, a TV show, or hell, even a new Republic Commando (well, 'Imperial Commando' in this case) orJedi Knight type of game where you play as an Imperial, the first half of the JK games were usually pure FPS.
This is just fabulous! Really well done. I've often thought that Star Wars should do a film from the stormtroopers perspective, in particular, a female stormtrooper. The heroes of the rebellion is a worn out theme. You have shown the other side of the struggle. Bravo!
@@SebsterMS99 read up on the books. There's at least a dozen humanoid planets. I'm sure if the Brits were in the movie it would have been nearly as lame as thier history.
Its good but some small nuisances. why would an AT AT be broadcasting an alarm sound to do a raid? Why are E-11 s stored in a tool box? lol Why have established weapons that fire RED now fire blue? its alittle distracting from the effort, but good work.
@@Ray-yv7kn The alarm sound on a Stuka was caused by a wind siren mounted to the side that began to "scream as the bomber entered a dive. It would be more appropriate to equate the "Tie Fighter Scream" to the Stuka. Which I believe was the original intent. Having the AT AT do it just seems silly.
The Tarkin doctrine is to cause fear in the enemy. That's why AT-ATs are used at all. Using raid sirens to signal your approach is entirely within Tarkin's approach to combating the rebels. Tbh the alarm is consistent with known Imperial doctrine.
@@mikesimms5750 From a strategic standpoint that's sound. On a battlefield or in an instance where the enemy knows well beforehand I'm coming. Then it just gets your hapless targets to start dwelling on What's coming Behind the siren and ruins their morale. It's a "morale breaker" tactic. Much like a formation of raiders pounding thier shields, a Maori Haka, or warriors pounding their spears into the Earth(Good example is The Two Towers when the Urak Hai begin the battle of Helms Deep.) If I was trying to raid an enemy position to capture or kill a high value target (traditionally a flight risk) I'm NOT going to let anyone know in coming. Especially not from that far out. It may well be within imperial doctrine but that doesnt make it smart.
Three years it took for someone to explain that, but there are many guns in star wars that closely resemble real life counter parts, like Han Solos blaster, which is an actual Mauser Broomhandle Pistol, just changed a bit for the big screen.
Maybe the effects weren’t excellent but guys, the COSTUMES! And the lights! I felt real people in war, not just some actors in a Star Wars suit and this shot 6:54 ! What an high definition video! I really like it! Very good job guys
While the squad tactics could have been honed a little to make the action more intense and credible, the tone and atmosphere of the piece are superb. The dialogue is deliberately understated and terse, and the acting is excellent. This is a very good piece that could fit well into the Star Wars universe.
I would easily admit I was impressed. In the way of a critique, I could only add that perhaps the armor support was thin. I was gratified it was not crapped up with Joanie loves Chachi moments. The minimalist dialog was carried off very well. I thought it nice that the expanded mission aspect was an interesting point. To maintain an empire, it is necessary to maintain order on many levels of daily society. Pirates, tax cheats, smugglers, all assorted types of gangstahs. Just another day in the lives of. Thanks, I appreciate the hell out of that. Best of all, no Jar Jar Stinx.
this was good though i gotta wonder can a AT-AT really walk underwater i don't think i heard that ever mentioned in lore or facts also loved the beach scene but don't you think a trooper or two would get shot there with no cover and basicly moving at a walking pace?
Demon Hunter - an underwater ATAT recently surfaced in the Star Wars comics so our timing is good. We thought with the AT-AT providing covering fire up top, it was easy for the Stormtroopers to advance up the beach as the rebels were pinned down.
A Star Wars fan film made here in Ireland, fantastic. Very well made and put together; any more films I'll definitely be watching especially if they include the Jedi and/or the Sith.

Thanks for your awesome review and here's to more marine AT-AT action sequences ;-)
Oops @ typos.
@@beijaflor9313 I agree Disney is actually accepting this cancer culture bs that's ruining our society today. And yeah the sequel series (except for the Force Awakens in my opinion) is awful.
I agree except that I can't abide TFA in all honesty, Disney sucks!
Really good, the pov from the imperials side is awesome lots of potential, cgi needs work but other than that this is amazing well done
Yes!
one of my favorite
So damn nice :3!
Over all though great work.
ross42899 remember cloneewars
ross42899 - thanks for your early interest and support. We’re very happy how the reaction is going. We hope you have a great summer ahead.
You may like the edited version I made on my channel.
Nate's Film Tutorials - Great Edit Nate. We really liked it.
It should be a crime that it took me this long to find this masterpiece. I love the inclusion of the ATAT Walker being able to operate underwater. Not many people acknowledge that. The battle scenes and accuracy in the equipment was amazing.
Thank you very much. 50% through filming the follow up.
While some of the action left quite a bit to be desired, the plot and actual story telling is probably the best I've seen out of any Star Wars fan film. Well done!
Thank you - the story and plot continues with the next episode currently filming.
That's the proof, Stormtroopers are the good ones! xD
A vast bulk of the rebel terrorists were only united by their mutual hatred of Emperor Palpatine: once the anarchists were victorious or crushed into exile they would turn on each other like the Khmer Rouge and burn themselves out from infighting.
The empire would have been actually wuite reasonable if it wasnt run by two sith lords
antiami no they were just ordinary people that joined for a cause, you’re talking about the other ones
Yep the anti alien brainwashed people with ought a personality who are led by a tyrant are the good guys
I liked the opening: The salty sergeant with few words nailed it. Was a little long of an opening scene, but you captured the mood and tone nicely.
Thanks. We wanted to go for that Band of Brothers style slow build up of tension before the drop. We also had a lot of characters to introduce so the next episode can run at a different pace.
Next episode?! YES! :D
General Maximilian Veers - top secret ;-)
@Tripp Border no one cares
You could teach Disney a few things on making a Star Wars live action movie.
chuckdeuce494 - Thanks very much
Exactly what I thought. Already better choices than Disney
Thanks mate. We took some big risks with the choices we made but we think the different POV narrative has great potential.
nice thought
A few? Try everything.
So this appeared on my recommended today and I'm sitting here like "Christmas came early." This was amazing!
Thank you very much - working hard on a new episode.
Those AT-AT sound effects sound amazing, I love how realistic this looks, great acting, well done 😎👍
As a whole the movie is amazing. The amount of inaccuracies is plentiful though. Still worth the watch
They're lucky they aren't going hand to hand with an SBD because let me tell you those things pack a punch
Yeah those wrist rockets, you need to watch out for them.
Extremely well done, I like that you showed that stormtroopers for what they really are; but I feel like losses on both sides would just make it more realistic (at the start, I mean)
Cinematic masterpiece
Thank you
That armors too strong for blasters....
TK/TB-41066, out...
This was great work, gives me great hope that star wars will never die with such a dedicated community that keeps the franscise fresh. Thank you for this and may the force be with you always.
Thanks. We are very respectful of the Original Trilogy storyline but in a big galaxy, we wanted to write and film a different POV.
Very good wish more people would do stuff like this and show that there are always 2 sides to any story and that anyone with a dream can make something as cool as George Lucus
Cameron Ortega - very inspiring and kind words. Thank you
Heh, that’s pretty much all George Lucas had when he made the first Star Wars movie
This definitely deserves more views this is phenomenal and i never even watched star wars. Keep up the good work!
Good Man - Thanks mate. That’s a world class compliment.
"Never even watched Star Wars." :-D
Gotta say, this was pretty great! The concept, the effects, acting and cinematography were so well done! It definitely left me wanting more!
A little on the slow side but still better than The Last Jedi! Great job!
Thanks mate. Great review. Red has a lot more motives than could be told in this episode. We purposely left some open ends for the future.
Stormtroopers Aha. That's smart. Guess I better wait for another one then.
On a side note about the armor. If a blasters power is high enough it can go through the armor and kill, a DL44 is a prime example of one. Also if a trooper gets shot in their weak points(Basically anywhere the white armor parts arent) even with a weaker blaster, its death in the obvious spots
Jacob Evans Yeah. That is true.
Sometimes the armor doesn't protect u
Don't think we didn't notice the slight homage to Mass Effect in the credits...
This got me hyped up! Big Starwars Fan here ever since growing up watching Episode IV
Thank you. Your support is much appreciated.
This is great, stormtroopers have humanity and the people that made this have real talent and passion for Star Wars.
Thank you very much
Its amazing people today can make films that look better than the originals.
Thank you
WOW!!! What the hell??? You guys should have done Last Jedi!!!
princess starr - thanks very much.
They'd do a lot better than Disney. :D
First time watching. This is one incredible film and the cast did one hell of a job.
princess starr yes
Jose A. Ramos there already doing it
Excellent fan film. It had all the elements of SW.
The stormtrooperd actually had some good aim in this one
In Legends they had great aim: comicvine.gamespot.com/star-wars-universe/4015-57038/forums/star-wars-stormtrooper-respect-thread-legends-cano-1680470/
It's another reason why I don't bother with Disney Canon.
thats the best shooting i've seen for stormtroopers...must be a special unit
I like how this fan film makes that star wars universe seem much more real that the movies, no space wizards with light swords or soldiers eith bad aim despite their training
This is the first time I've heard of stormtroopers when I saw this is was amazed
ULSTERISBRITISH 1690 Yeah, this is a missed opportunity. But _only_ if done right!!
Krizen Medina GIMME THAT IMPERIAL COMMANDO GAME💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Really high production quality, especially for a fan film.
I love the fact that someone shows different view on stormtroopers and finally not only taking piss out of them that they can't shoot
Thank you very much - we thought a well trained, equipped and vast military would be more deadly
This is just fabulous! Really well done. I've often thought that Star Wars should do a film from the stormtroopers perspective, in particular, a female stormtrooper. The heroes of the rebellion is a worn out theme. You have shown the other side of the struggle. Bravo!
@@garry7433 thank you very much. Your support means alot. Hope you enjoy thr sequel episode. New episode filming starts soon.
This is awesome love to see the imperial POV. Great job and film.
Thank very much. Everyone's comments are very positive and appreciated. They inspire is to make another episode.
Was this made in Ireland? Very well made.
vision thing - Txs mate. We filmed in Cork, Waterford & Tipperary
It seems like no one remembers most of the empire was Britain I’m glad they added that look out for your mates line
NinjaOclock Cc1 there is that.
I assure you no one in star wars was ever British. No one even knew what Earth was if it even existed..
Well some joind the rebellion like me
@@moderngypsysadventures4043 *That you know of!* But where did the humans all come from... hmmm? XD
@@SebsterMS99 read up on the books. There's at least a dozen humanoid planets. I'm sure if the Brits were in the movie it would have been nearly as lame as thier history.
thank you I LOVED IT , great job
Thank you too!
Love fan films like this showing stormtroopers in action and what war was like for them
Thank you. New episode releases online early next month.
@@Stormtroopers OMG Yay! Can’t wait keep up the great work!👍👏👏👏👏
Its good but some small nuisances.
why would an AT AT be broadcasting an alarm sound to do a raid?
Why are E-11 s stored in a tool box? lol
Why have established weapons that fire RED now fire blue?
its alittle distracting from the effort, but good work.
Alarm sound? Just like the Stukas before they bombed their target.
@@Cryogenius333 Silly indeed. It is too slow for such a thing.
Much like a formation of raiders pounding thier shields, a Maori Haka, or warriors pounding their spears into the Earth(Good example is The Two Towers when the Urak Hai begin the battle of Helms Deep.)
If I was trying to raid an enemy position to capture or kill a high value target (traditionally a flight risk) I'm NOT going to let anyone know in coming. Especially not from that far out. It may well be within imperial doctrine but that doesnt make it smart.
I adore the idea of a AT-AT submarine
Loved it! Only thing I was surprised by is the MG-34's and MG-44 used by the rebels and stormtroopers lol.
Three years it took for someone to explain that, but there are many guns in star wars that closely resemble real life counter parts, like Han Solos blaster, which is an actual Mauser Broomhandle Pistol, just changed a bit for the big screen.
Energy weapons don't have recoil. But is a very well done film. Kudos!
Take a gander at the Star Wars Clone Wars show. Energy Weapons do indeed have recoil
This is a very good piece that could fit well into the Star Wars universe.
equesfuscus - thank you very much. We really appreciate your support and advice.
Look, they managed to hit something, great editing
These short stories are much better than the Hollywood movies. Great script acting and plenty of action.
With a larger budget this could become one of the best star wars movies in my opinion
Thank you. Wait until you see the new episode.
I enjoyed most of that vid...
This the best fan made video I ever seen
nickhunter500 - thanks very much. Another to follow
@@Stormtroopers this is one of the 3 good quality ones. Bucketheads and Vader Shards of the past being the others
This is a excellent piece of work. Well done.
Capt Brody - Thanks mate
Love the way you make the stormtroopers have better aim and not get 1 shot
Can’t imagine the time and effort that goes into these productions.
Thanks. Like football. We try hard. Deliver. Learn & Try Again & Repeat.
Certainly pays off! 👍
Nice work beautiful location can't wait to see more
this was good though i gotta wonder can a AT-AT really walk underwater i don't think i heard that ever mentioned in lore or facts also loved the beach scene but don't you think a trooper or two would get shot there with no cover and basicly moving at a walking pace?
Demon Hunter - an underwater ATAT recently surfaced in the Star Wars comics so our timing is good. We thought with the AT-AT providing covering fire up top, it was easy for the Stormtroopers to advance up the beach as the rebels were pinned down.
I like this ^^ For The Empire!
Nice storm Troopers Storm Troopers video was great.👏👏
Ryan Sanico - thank you
This gives me hope for future star wars movies
Mike UA-cam - thank you. We think there is a galaxy of story opportunities while also respecting the SW universe
A Star Wars fan film made here in Ireland, fantastic. Very well made and put together; any more films I'll definitely be watching especially if they include the Jedi and/or the Sith.
Matthew Brady - thank you very much - we’re going to work extra hard to make the next one even better
I'd wish they'd made a stormtrooper movie
This was sweet 🎂
Thank you. Much appreciated
As someone in their mid 30's, who grew up with Star Wars, I enjoyed this quite a bit.
As a fan-made project, (which I'm usually prone to avoiding) this was actually really good. Yes, of course, there's always room for improvement, and I'm aware this is almost 6 years old (-at time of writing this comment, and kinda shocked, surprising it's this good!) But I'll definitely be watching the 2nd episode.
I don't know if you still do these, but I appreciate this.
Thank you.
Take care
All the best 👍
Thank you very much. We love your support. We learn my doing & improving & repeating. We have our new studio now so more episodes with logarithmic improvements coming soon. Thank you again.
Bruh these storm troopers must be the best they’ve got with the accuracy they had
YaBoy Kdos - thank you.
These Stormtroopers are Unicorns! They actually hit something and competent enough to not die in that beach and accomplish something a battalion of Disney Stormtroopers couldn’t.
Nice. I really do enjoy these fan films. Hard work and dedication. They set a nice tone I expect in Star Wars universe.
Good stuff. I am always amazed at the effects and filmmaking tools available to Joe and Jan Average Filmmaker. :) Well done!
martok2112 - thank you. Well keep trying to go better again next time
Lol! I hope you didn't think I was calling you "average filmmakers". I certainly didn't mean it in that respect. I used the terms more the way that someone might say "John Q. Public". Your filmmaking skills are definitely fine. I just meant that such awesome tools are available for us to use and make our own dreams into realities.
Keep up the great work. I look forward to your next projects. :)
martok2112 - thanks. We took it as a compliment and we will apply everything we learnt making this one into the next protect
Ya know it is no wonder the empire lost... The Stormtroopers could not hit the broadside of a barn if they were 5 feet in front of it. But good job on the Fan film... Very well done.
Better than Star Wars 8. I am amazed.
Thank you. Dreaming. Doing. Learning. Repeating
He Got Stabbed In The Back (LITERALLY AND METAPHORICALLY)!
I'd just like to mention, not hating, but if they were to jump from a walker they would roll. Landing on your feet could break them.
When exiting an AT-AT stormtroopers generally fast-rope in however as no one in this movie has that training they probably did it off camera
Good job. Better than TLJ.
Thanks. We think its not bad for 3 days filming plus a reshoot day,
The life day special is better than the last jedi lol
Tip for the next fan movie and that is how to hold a gun. If you don't shoot straight, your finger is not on the trigger. It's a small thing, but with small things the film can be much better.
I know this has been out a long time, but I love how you humanize stormtroopers :)
Thank you very much
@@Stormtroopers no, thank you for making this. I'd say you can compete with Disney, especially humanizing the stormtroopers the correct way. I hope you're proud of what you made ❤
